Winter Garden commission sets tentative millage rate ERIC GUTIERREZ STAFF WRITER

Winter Garden leaders voted unanimously to set a tentative millage rate at 4.50 mills during the Winter Garden City Commission meeting on July 26. The proposed millage rate is 0.25 mills higher than the current rate of 4.25. Included in the approval of setting the tentative millage rate was setting budget public hearing dates for Sept. 13 and 27. The Town Commission typically sets the tentative millage rate one mill higher than expected, anticipating dropping it back down during the budget workshop process.
