YOUR TOWN DO YOU KNOW YOUR INSECTS? Nehrling Gardens is hosting an insect program for children from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 22, at 2267 Hempel Ave., Gotha. Practice the skills needed to become a junior entomologist, including how to identify different insects and evaluate the many important roles insects have within an ecosystem. Learn how to use these skills to investigate insect activity in your backyard and start your own insect collection. A donation of $10 per child is suggested. The number of homeless students attending Orange County Public Schools has increased by about 58% since the 2016-17 school year. For the past three months, Windermere has been engaged in negotiations with Tavistock Development Company to potentially reach a mutual vision for the future of the northwest corner of Conroy-Windermere and ApopkaVineland roads. The contentious 43-acre cor-
ner — dubbed the 4th Corner — remains undeveloped, but the property owner, Tavistock, presented preliminary designs during a January community meeting showcasing future plans.
