Windermere Garden Club received two prestigious awards from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs at its May 10 meeting. Jackie Rapport earned the Outstanding Service Award, presented to one garden club member in the state. Rapport goes above and beyond the duties of her office and committee chairmanships. Carolin Warren and cochair Vicki Hearst received the award for Decoration of a Historical Building by a Garden Club. Every year, the pair organize the Christmas decorations at Windermere Town Hall. During the holidays, the town hosts many events.

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs’s entrance and exit were met with the same thing: a standing ovation and roaring applause.
