Winter Garden might add some new parks in the coming years. City leaders voted unanimously at the April 12 meeting to allow city staff to move forward with negotiations to purchase properties for the city’s parks and recreation program.

This month’s Movie in the Park, hosted by the city of Ocoee, is “The Greatest Showman,” starring Hugh Jackman. The movie starts at 8:15 p.m., Friday, April 20, in Bill Breeze Park, 16 E. Oakland Ave., Ocoee. Food trucks will be selling food and snacks from 6 to 9 p.m. in the park, and the Friends of Ocoee History Preservation will give tours of the Withers-Maguire House from 6 to 7:30. For information, contact the Ocoee Parks & Recreation Department at (407) 905-3180 or go to ocoee.org.

lthough the theme was “A Night in Paris,” Foundation Academy’s annual Daddy-Daughter Dance’s guest list included one VIP from Hawaii. Third-grader Grace O’Hey and her younger sister, Chloe, a kindergartner, were escorted to the dance, held Friday, April 13,

at Tanner Hall in Winter Garden, by a special guest — their uncle, John O’Hey, who flew in from the Islands of Aloha for the occasion. It was an especially memorable night for two students. The girls were 4 years old and 4 months old SEE ONE PAGE 4
