While considering options to lighten the traffic on Winter Park’s major roads, city commissioners at their Monday, April 8, meeting discussed the possibility of placing transportation impact fees on certain development projects.

Today, Winter Park doesn’t have

any fees a developer must pay to offset any added trips that impact traffic. Money from fees could go toward everything from sidewalks and bike paths to an added turn lane or signalization improvements, City Manager Randy Knight said.

Christopher Michael Blackmer was arrested by officers early Friday, April 5, and has been charged with sexual performance by a child: possession of child pornography — a thirddegree felony.

According to Orange County Public Schools, Blackmer has been on administrative leave since Jan. 31 and started working for Winter Park High School in August 2013.

Winter Park police — as well as the school district —are conducting investigations.

“During the investigation, the employee has been on administrative leave, pending the outcome of that investigation,” Winter Park High School Principal Matthew Arnold said in a phone call made to parents. “We are also working in conjunction with law enforcement on this matter. Please know we take all allegations very seriously, and the safety of our students is my top priority.”

According to the arrest affidavit, the investigation started after an anonymous witness contacted the Winter Park Police Department Jan. 28 regarding inappropriate messages between Blackmer and a former Winter Park High School student.

ness revealed Blackmer had sent inappropriate images of another former student.

Based on information provided from Blackmer regarding when he obtained the images, Winter Park police determined the identified individual in the photos was a juvenile.

In response to the allegations, a consensual interview took place between Blackmer and an affiant accompanied by a Winter Park police officer. After Blackmer’s car and several personal items were seized, a search of Blackmer’s phone revealed a video of Blackmer and a male victim engaging in sexual acts.

The male was identified as a former student of Colonial High School, and police determined through the date of the video (Aug. 1, 2014) that the victim was a minor at the time of the video.

Blackmer was arrested shortly after based on the collected evidence.

As of April 5, Blackmer was being held at the Orange County Jail with a $5,000 bond.

Winter Park has a new city commissioner.

Challenger Todd Weaver defeated incumbent Pete Weldon in the runoff election for Winter Park City Commission Seat Four Tuesday, April 9. The result brings a new face to the city’s governing body.

Winter Park’s newest commissioner captured 3,207 votes (52.33%) compared to Weldon’s 2,922 votes (47.67%), according to unofficial results from the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

“I’m just thrilled with the team we put together — it took a year, and hundreds of people helped us,” Weaver said. “This is a win for Winter Park. ... Winter Park is a unique place. It’s not Maitland, it’s not Orlando and it’s not Longwood. There’s special things about Winter Park that we need to protect: the lakes, the trees, the ambience and the character of it.

I saw that slipping away over the last 10 years, and I didn’t want to be a politician or a statesman, but I felt like I had to do something.”

Weaver said one of his biggest priorities for his upcoming term is resolving the traffic issues in Winter Park.

“I’ve been doing a lot of research — I’m on the League of Women Voters Transportation Committee, and I’ve met with a lot of public officials and staff with FDOT and tri-county officials, and I believe there is quite a few things we can do,” Weaver said.

“A road is like a pipe, and if you try to stuff more water through a pipe, it starts to leak. What we’re seeing now is that several of our major arteries are at capacity, and they’re leaking into neighborhoods with cut-through traffic.

That can be resolved, and initially I want to look at the 17-92/Fairbanks intersection. … I believe we have the engineering chops on the commission now to be able to do that and direct staff accordingly.”

ter Park Canopy project within a financially feasible and reasonable design. The city may consider the project on budget, but the cost of architect Sir David Adjaye’s previous projects and Weaver’s experience as a builder and general contractor say otherwise, he said.

“I believe that the project has gone off the rails — it wasn’t what the voters voted for,” Weaver said.

“I voted for it, and I think there’s some unfortunate things that have happened without the public input, but we can correct it. We can right the boat, we can stay in budget, and we can deliver a firstclass library.”

Despite falling short in his bid for re-election, Weldon said he wishes the City Commission all the best moving forward and that he is proud to have served on the commission for the past three years.

“I look forward to seeing our city proceed down a sensible course,” Weldon said. “I have nothing but hope for our city, and I’ve enjoyed my service to the city.

“I think we all know that the city is in the best shape it’s ever been in,” he said. “I think there are recognizable decisions made

by the City Commission that I was involved in that helped bring that about. I hope that the commission going forward will be able to make equal or superior changes that will add more value for the residents of our city.”

Weldon said he was grateful for all the support he received, adding that he hopes Winter Park will focus on the positive as it presses forward.

“I appreciate all the effort that all the people put into my campaign — I appreciate Mr. Weaver’s hard work,” Weldon said. “He definitely worked his butt off, and I respect him for that. We’ll see what happens down the road. ... I believe that the positive things in Winter Park should dominate the political discussion and that we should have sensible, fact-based policy considerations amongst our citizens before we vote.”

Tuesday’s results come about month after the March 12 election.

Third candidate Barbara Chandler received 431 votes (7.98%) and was defeated. Weaver received 2,589 votes (47.92%), and Weldon 2,383 votes (44.11%). All three candidates falling short of the 50% mark forced Tuesday’s runoff election.

the general revenue fund for the city, Knight said.

“The concept of impact fees is that the burden of growth should not fall on existing taxpayers,” Knight said. “When you add the one trip … you’ve got to increase infrastructure to accommodate that growth.”

Although that’s not something the city can put in place whenever it wants, Knight said. A transportation impact fee requires a study that first identifies future transportation improvements and then equitably attributes the costs of those improvements to developers of projects that increase trips.

For commercial developments, the number of new trips would determine the project’s impact, according to the staff report that

accompanied Monday’s meeting agenda.

Winter Park also has the option of pursuing mobility fees, which could be used to pay for operating items such as adding extra LYNX buses or more commuter rail service.

Winter Park Public Works Director Troy Attaway said the city’s Transportation Advisory Board is currently reviewing a new mobility plan — a study put together by the city with a consultant that takes into account pedestrians, bikes, transit and vehicles.

“It basically gives a hierarchy of mobility, and it also defines some specific improvements that have been identified to date,” Attaway said. “I would say that it’s a living document in that other improvements can come along. There are

specific improvements with dollar estimates to those improvements.

I think that that is an important document to get in front of you.”

Winter Park Mayor Steve Leary suggested the commission wait for the mobility plan before it looks into possible funding sources for various projects.

“There is a desire among this commission and the rest of the city to try to figure out how to best manage traffic through the city,” Leary said. “We’re talking about transportation impact fees, but that may not be it.

“I think what we’re still coming back to is ‘what’s the best way to approach some for the traffic challenges we’re having in the city?’” he said. “Is it a transportation impact fee? I don’t know — I don’t think we have enough information to make that decision yet.”

Commissioner Carolyn Cooper insisted on taking action regarding traffic sooner rather than later.

In Orange County, we begin this monthlong campaign to help our citizens of all ages recognize the importance of 911 and the role they play in ensuring effective and efficient emergency response in times of crisis.

For 50 years, 911 has served as the vital link between our citizens and our emergency services. As citizens utilize new communications technologies, 911 education takes on an increased importance for everyone. Recent 911 educational campaigns include: n Call if you can, text if you can’t. Text to 911 is now available in Orange County. This service will benefit those who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech impediment, or for anyone who has a police, fire or medical emergency and making a voice call to 911 would put him or her in danger. A voice call to 911 is the best and fastest way for the 911 operator to retrieve and deliver lifesaving information, so citizens only should use Text to 911 when a voice call is not an option.

If you have to Text to 911, always provide your exact location and the nature of the emergency.

Location technology is not the same with text as it is with a voice 911 call. Avoid using slang, socialmedia jargon or abbreviations, and do not send photos, emojis, GIFs or videos. Also, don’t send a group text. Finally, make sure to mute

your phone if you are in a dangerous situation. n Know Your location. Wireless to 911 can provide inconsistent location information, so 911 call-takers will need more specific information from you.

Be prepared to provide detailed information on where you are, so that help can get to you as quickly as possible. n Stay calm and don’t hang up. Until you are instructed to do otherwise, stay on the line with the 911 operator so you can provide any necessary information or assistance to the 911 operator — and so the 911 operator can provide you with lifesaving instructions. If you accidentally call 911, don’t hang up. Stay on the phone and inform the 911 operator that you dialed accidentally and that there is no emergency. If you don’t stay on the phone, valuable 911 resources will be used to locate you to ensure emergency services are not needed.

Rollins College names new dean of Hamilton Holt School Rob Sanders will assume the helm of Rollins’ school for adult learning in July.

Rob Sanders is excited for July.

The Cincinnati-native, who has been in the education field for more than two decades, will have his 51st birthday that month.

But there’s something else Sanders is looking forward to — the start of his time as dean of the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College. He is leaving his associate dean position at Appalachian State University to assume command of Rollins’ signature adultlearning program.

“I like to expose my students to new knowledge and skills, and I love seeing them grow and develop,” Sanders said. “There’s a satisfaction I get with working with students where you see them change from beginning to end and will continue to grow as professionals.”

“We are pleased that Robert Sanders is joining Rollins to lead the Hamilton Holt School,” said Rollins President Grant Cornwell in a statement. “He has a proven track record as a leader and innovator in adult and continuing education, and demonstrates a deep commitment to liberal education. Sanders’s entire career has been about teaching. He has a doctorate in education from the University of Cincinnati, a master’s degree in library science from the Unversity of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in instruction and curriculum from Indiana University.

“Even before teaching, I was a teacher,” Sanders said. “My mom was a teacher; it ran in the family.”

He initially taught high school and middle school before starting an education-consulting business and eventually taught as an adjunct at the University of Cincinnati. He said teaching adult learners during that time gave him the interest to teach higher education. He started teaching at Appalachia State University 16 years ago and spent the last five as associate dean.

Sanders knew of Winter Park and Rollins College — the school was consistently ranked on college lists — and said he’s always had an appreciation for the area. When he heard of the vacant position for dean, he thought it would be a perfect fit from his time spent in adult education.

“I made the decision right then and there that this was going to be a position I’d apply for,” Sanders said. “I’ve pursued it ever since. It took from early September to early March.”

on younger students and more traditional education routes, Sanders believes there are millions of adult learners with some college experience who may have fallen off from their studies but can benefit from finally finishing that degree. What’s more, these learners should feel like they have a community on campus, he said.

“We need to do a better job in higher (education) to meet the needs of these adult learners,” Sanders said. “They are smart, capable people who may need some additional skills and continue that program they were in. …

It’s a different community you’re trying to build than the traditional residential community that exists.

Working on ways to provide a support system to meet the needs of adult learners is something I’m going to be paying attention to.”

These next few months are a time of planning and preparation for Sanders. He doesn’t want to arrive at the Hamilton Holt School with preconceived ideas on how to lead but rather to learn how the school and staff operate and go from there. There are also broader goals like greater student enrollment that Sanders knows he will have to tackle. He said he is just ready to get started.

Maitland City Council swore in new and returning members, appointed a vice mayor, and passed a contentious ordinance allowing some control over a proposed 5G cell network in Maitland during a heated meeting Monday, April 8.

5G CELL NETWORK

Frustrations boiled over at the meeting regarding the state infringing on home rule, as well as potential health hazards concerning a 5G cell network in Maitland.

In 2017, the Florida Legislature passed the “Advanced Wireless Infrastructure Deployment Act,” which provided access to rightsof-way for 5G cell networks to be implemented in the state. The act effectively preempted local governments from regulating the proposed cell facilities or their placement in the city. The aspect in their control, according to the council, was the structures’ aesthetics, which was part of the

ordinance presented Monday night.

These 5G cell structures are smaller and more numerous than their 4G counterparts and function better when placed close to one another. City documents claim the United States will have a network of an estimated 800,000 cell structures by 2026.

Several Central Florida residents attended Monday night’s meeting to express their discontent over the idea, fearing possible health concerns if they were placed in crowded areas or neighborhoods.

“We don’t know for sure exactly what the results of this technology is going to be, but we all will have to live in this community and deal with what the repercussions are,” said Caleb Payne, a Winter Park resident who works in Maitland. “It would be better if there were some studies so we would know for sure the technology is safe before it’s implemented.”

out of their hands and that they weren’t happy about the lack of control, either.

“From the local government’s perspective, this isn’t really an ordinance authorizing 5G,” said legal counsel Drew Smith. “The state did that for us. This is an ordinance putting on what limitations the state has left to us to try and control it.”

Councilman Mike Thomas shared his exasperation for the ordinance but saw it as a better alternative than refusing to pass it and potentially having the city pay massive legal fees.

“We’re doing the best we can,” Thomas said. “We have no authority ... I can’t sit up here as a responsible council representative of Maitland say ‘Let’s spend 3 million dollars on some fruitless statement that we don’t

want this’ and it’s going to go in anyway when I can spend that money on sidewalks ... that’s what we’re dealing with.”

Members of the public continued to voice their complaints as council members expressed their own contempt for the state bill as an attack on home rule.

“Home rule is not being slowly eroded but quickly stolen from municipalities and counties,” Mayor Dale McDonald said. “To put it as nicely as I can: It’s a whole lot easier for larger, corporate vested interests to deal with a Legislature than it is to deal with 406 cities and 67 counties in this state. And Lord knows everybody wants a piece of that Florida action.”

The council eventually adopted the ordinance 4-1, with Councilwoman Bev Reponen dissenting. She encouraged residents to continue to voice their opinions on the state bill.

CEREMONIES

Councilmen Mike Thomas and Michael Wilde recited their oaths of office for their new, three-year terms at the beginning of the meeting.

“It was a hard-fought campaign,” Thomas joked. “I thought about if I wanted to do this for another three years, and then I decided we still had some things to get done. I look forward to that time, I think we’ve got a great council.”

Wilde thanked his family for their support to run for councilman.

“I think we’re headed in a great direction, and I hope to contribute and do what I can in making the city great,” Wilde said.

Councilman John Lowndes also was appointed as vice mayor, succeeding Mike Thomas.

FAA to host air traffic input meeting HARRY SAYER BLACK TIE REPORTER

The Federal Aviation Administration is looking to rewrite Florida’s air traffic procedures, and it wants Winter Park residents’ help in doing so.

Starting April 15, the FAA is hosting a series of public workshops across Central Florida to receive input from citizens on proposed changes to the air traffic procedures for Orlando International Airport and other local airports.

Winter Park’s workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the Winter Park Community Center.

Residents will be able to deliver written comments at the threehour workshops on their issues with air traffic and opinions on the project. The meetings also will have Spanish translators present.

The meeting is part of the FAA’s South-Central Florida Metroplex project, which aims to improve air traffic procedures through satellite-based navigation. The South-Central Florida Metroplex — one of many planned systems in the country — attends to major airports in Orlando, TamB:10.167” pa, Miami and Fort T:10.167”Lauderdale.

“We’re just now at the point S:10.167”

where we will be presenting the proposed procedures to the public and offering the public the opportunity to come in and provide input,” said Kathleen Bergen, communications director for the Federal Aviation Administration.

“We welcome people to come to the meetings, share information, look at the information we’re offering them. We’ll have traffic control experts and people who are knowledgeable about airtraffic procedures in the Central Florida area able to answer questions.”

The meeting will have the proposed air-traffic designs complete with expected altitudes of those flights. Officials from the Greater Orlando Aviation presented information to the Winter Park City Commission in August 2018 regarding resident complaints of low-level flights and louder engines.

Following the public-input period, the project’s environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act will begin with a planned start date of summer 2019. Residents will again be able to comment on the proposals during the environmental process, and the FAA believes the review to be complete

Winter Park athletic director to retire Michael Brown has led the Wildcats’ athletic programs for 16 years.

Winter Park High School knows what it takes to excel in sports.

Throughout their history, the Wildcats have piled up an embarrassment of riches: 118 team state championships, 155 individual state championships and 71 relay state championships.

But one faculty member who has supported teams from behind the scenes for the past 16 years is calling it a career.

Athletic Director Michael Brown will be retiring after this school year after 32 years at Winter Park High School.

Originally joining Winter Park as a chemistry teacher in the fall of 1987, Brown taught students in the classroom for 16 years before taking the position of athletic director, handling the logistics of sporting events and working with coaches to make sure they have everything they need to lead their teams effectively.

Since taking the helm of the athletics programs, Brown has helped the coaches purchase new equipment, worked with the principal to hire new coaches and made sure teams abide by all the right rules so they can focus on

It’s been a fun ride, Brown said.

“It’s been a good time —the program is very successful,” he said. “It’s all about the coaches and the kids. ... It’s fun — I’ve enjoyed seeing the success of our programs. The kids are doing well, and the coaches are doing a good job.”

A tradition of excellence has continued at Winter Park High thanks to the coaches and athletes, Brown said. The athletic program as a whole continues to get recognized. The FHSAA Floyd

by Winter Park 10 times since the 1999-2000 school year. That’s in addition to four Boys’ All Sports Awards and seven Girls’ All Sports Awards.

Eight of those overall awards came while Brown was on the sidelines, although it’s all because of the hard work put in by the coaches and athletes, he said.

said. “To me, the more incredible thing is that not only have we won it more than almost all the other schools combined ... over the last 16 to 18 years, we’ve only had one year we didn’t finish first or second. We’re always in the hunt.”

Brown was a coach himself in the early- to mid-1990s for the boys track and cross-country teams, but he’s enjoyed stepping back and supporting the coaches in the past 16 years with the help of his assistant athletic directors, he said.

“We try to let the coaches have their time to coach, and we try to handle all of the other things that go on,” Brown said.

Taking Brown’s position is current Lake Nona High School Athletic Director Andy Chiles. The program no doubt will continue to thrive under his watch, Brown said.

“We have a new athletic director coming in, and I’m sure he’ll do a good job,” Brown said. “I don’t see any significant change in the program, because the program is not the athletic director — the program is the coaches and the kids. That’s not going to change.”

E

duardo Sanchez remembers one of the first times his movie “The Blair Witch Project” was

shown.

He was sitting with the film’s fellow director Dan Myrick, their producers and crew, and more at the Enzian Theater in Maitland on a Sunday morning. Ben Rock, the movie’s production designer, was working as a manager at the Enzian and set up the theater’s projector to play their recently completed film to friends and interested parties for the first time.

Sanchez remembers feeling nervous during that initial screening — he had no idea how the film he had helped make would play to an audience.

That feeling quickly went away when the theater lights turned on. “(A producer) came up to us and said, ‘This is going to Sundance; this is going to be huge,’” Sanchez said. “He gave us some momentum; he was one of the first outside of our circle that thought we had something cool.”

He was right.

“The Blair Witch Project” grossed nearly $250 million on a $60,000 budget by the end of its run, making it one of the most profitable films of all time and the highest-grossing film to ever premiere at the Enzian Theater.

On Sunday, April 14, “The Blair Witch Project” directors, producers, cast and crew will return to the Enzian for a special 20th anniversary screening and panel as part of the 2019 Florida Film Festival.

The “Blair Witch” team hung stickmen and other ominous figures for the cast to come across.

HOMECOMING

The 2019 festival will be a homecoming in many ways for the “Blair Witch” team and the movie they made. Sanchez, Myrick, Mennello, Rock and more were all University of Central Florida alumni and spent much of their time watching movies at the Enzian. “The Blair Witch Project” made its east coast premiere at the Maitland theater, as well.

“The Enzian was the center of the indie world for us,” Sanchez said. “I remember going there a lot, knowing they were supportive of the film community and eventually attending the film competitions. … For us film students, especially when you’re young you idolize the filmmakers that come before you, the Enzian was our connection to that. They were always on our side, it seemed.”

After graduating from UCF, Sanchez worked on other films and later returned to his home state of Maryland. He stayed there for a few years before finally deciding to reunite with Dan Myrick for a movie idea that they had come up with at the beginning of film school — a folk horror story about a witch in the woods.

Sanchez and Myrick recruited Gregg Hale, Robin Cowie and Mike Monello to the team and decided to film in the Black Hills Forests in Maryland.

MAKING A MYTH

Ben Rock remembers reading Fangoria Magazine on the bus to school while growing up in Maitland. Years later, he was instrumental in creating the distinct horrors that would haunt the three doomed campers in “The Blair Witch Project.”

“I bought the whole myth; I love those kind of creepy-ass folk stories,” Rock said. “They told me what it was. … I was like, ‘Let me work on it; I will sweep the floors.’

It’s the coolest idea I’ve ever heard.”

Growing up, Rock was fascinated with horror movies and attended Winter Park High School, where he became involved in theatre.

He remembers trips to the Orlando Public Library where he’d sketch out the movie’s mythology. Those ideas helped create a pitch tape that eventually became the movie.

When work on the film began, Rock redesigned the haunted house at the end of the movie by painting over graffiti, having handprints placed onto its walls and scattering children’s toys across the floor.

“It was already creepy, but it had to be creepy on our terms,” Rock

“All of a sudden, we found ourselves, still months away from the film finishing and being submitted to Sundance, with an audience. … We were like, ‘Oh good, we have people who care, but we don’t have a film to show them!’”

said. “It was out in the middle of nowhere, behind a closed missile base. You had to drive past this 1915-looking military installation and then you were deep in the woods. … You walk into that place and it smells the way it looks. … You have to try to not make that place scary.”

He said any prop in the film came from him, including the iconic stickmen that hung from trees in the forest. One of his favorite creations is the bundle of hair, teeth — both real and fake — and blood made out of a missing camper the main character discovers in the movie.

“It was one of the few times in the movie where I drove out to (the actor’s) campsite,” Rock said.

“They had already finished their scene, and I said, ‘Guys, you have to open that up.’ … Heather said, ‘Fine, I’ll do it.’ Walking back to the car, I heard this shriek she makes in the movie, that bloodcurdling shriek when she opens that bundle.”

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Mike Monello, one of the film’s producers, wasn’t involved with the movie’s filming. But he was integral to everything that came after.

Monello, a South Florida native who took classes with Sanchez at UCF, left his marketing director position at the Enzian to work on the movie.

“When I left Enzian to go and make ‘Blair Witch’ with the guys, I

was basically leaving an arts organization wage to make nothing; it did feel like a huge gamble,” Monello said. “I sat down with (my wife) and said, ‘Look, this feels like a last chance.’ I was about to turn 30 — we all were — and I think there was a sense from us that we were going to have to grow up and be responsible and get jobs. Maybe ‘Blair Witch’ should be the one last thing we do. … None of us thought it was going to do what it did.”

He recalls working on the movie’s post-production needs out of a run-down house off of Robinson Street and having to take the movie’s photo files to a shop off Mills to get them in a high enough resolution to provide to the press.

He credits the Enzian on how to work the festival scene and garner publicity for the film. Monello helped the team secure funding for the movie from John Pierson, an indie movie figure who screened some of the movie on his television show “Split Screen” on Bravo. That union led to the legendary online marketing approach that defined “The Blair Witch Project.”

“Every time Bravo would rerun the show, more people would go to splitscreen.com to talk about ‘Blair Witch,’” Monello said. “Eventu-

ally, John called us up and said, ‘Hey, you need to put up a website with a discussion board, your ‘Blair Witch’ fans are ruining my film community.’”

“Honestly, we thought it was a bit of a burden at first,” he said. “...

All of a sudden, we found ourselves, still months away from the film finishing and being submitted to Sundance, with an audience. … We were like, ‘Oh good, we have people who care, but we don’t have a film to show them!’”

Monello said he and other members of the team looked at the marketing as a form of organic storytelling. Eventually the team wrote their film company Haxan Films into the online Blair Witch mythology as a way of further engaging with the community. The strategy created a lively, online audience of horror fans that paved the way to the movie fandoms of today.

The film’s talent and creators have had successful careers thanks to their movie 20 years ago. Sanchez is a producing director on a USA Network show, Monello leads the Campfire marketing agency in New York, and Rock directs the successful Video Palace podcast.

Still, Sanchez says “Blair Witch” will always feel like something different.

“You have to treat ‘Blair Witch’ two ways,” Sanchez said. “There’s the phenomena of ‘Blair Witch’ that people talk about that’s kind of magical. That part was unexpected.

“And then there’s the making of it, those memories,” he said.

“They’re memories that are as vibrant and up-and-down roller coaster-y as making any other movie. You always have hardships and fun. But those memories, when those ideas were just ours, it was a great collaboration of all these people. To me, that’s what means a lot.”

he Orlando Cattle Baron’s Ball officially hit its 20year anniversary, and celebration ensued during the annual American Cancer Society fundraiser. Held April 8 at the Rosen Shingle Creek, the Cattle Baron’s Ball drew a crowd of hundreds dressed in their Western best.

Cowboys and cowgirls perused the silent auction, indulged in some of Orlando’s best cuisine and enjoyed live music and entertainment.

he Victim Service Center of Central Florida held a festive function to support victims in need Friday, April 5, at the Orlando Museum of Art. The sixth annual “Cheers to Change” gala had Orlando patrons supporting the center, which serves victims of assault, crime and trauma, through a silent auction.
