Attention runners: Discounted fees for the 2019 Windermere 5K/10K Run Among the Lakes will be available through March 31. This year’s event will take place Saturday, April 13, beginning at Town Hall on Main Street, Windermere. The 10K run will begin at 7:15 a.m., followed by the 5K run/ walk at 7:45 a.m. The awards ceremony will be at 9 a.m. The discounted rates are $37 for the 5K and $45 for the 10K. A proposed state law aims to keep local governments from having any say on what you grow in your front yards. The bill, known as the vegetable garden bill, is sponsored by Sen. Rob Bradley, a Republican representing District 5 in northwest Florida.
