reaching for the STARS

To celebrate John Shoffner’s launch and mission aboard the ISS, and to promote engagement opportunities between the students at Middlesboro High and the astronauts during his mission, several art students designed a logo that will be featured on patches or the astronauts space suits! Under the direction of their art and STEM instructors, Taylyn Ayers ( Josh Ayer’s daughter) and two other students worked to produce this digital artwork with the slogan “Beyond the Crater.” Taylyn, what an out of this world accomplishment! WE are proud of you!

The first semi truck was invented in 1898 and was manufactured the following year. In Ohio, Alexander Winton was a “horseless carriage” manufacturer (to us, that’s making cars) and when his business sold their first carriages, they wanted a more efficient delivery method to get them to their customers.
