WE Lease Blitzes 2024

If you’ve been at Worldwide Equipment any amount of time, you’ll have heard of blitzes. But what is a blitz exactly and why do WE do them?

What is a blitz?

A sales blitz is an organized sales prospecting event that happens quarterly. Teams of two go out into the community targeting business locations, bringing swag and information like flyers or brochures. It’s not random but is a concentrated sales strategy targeting businesses who could become customers.

Why blitz?

Blitzing establishes our company and lets businesses know about their options. The goal is to bring more business to WE, not only to rental/sales, but to all departments. Salespeople may bring material advertising product sales or future events, in addition to general information. It allows our salespeople to scout the area and uncover potential prospects. Finally, it gives the opportunity for our salespeople to network and learn from one another!

Who’s involved?

Many people take part in a blitz campaign. Leaders and division managers plan the schedule, facilitate the purchase of swag and paper materials, pair up salespeople in teams, and educate their teams on how to be professional and personable in the field. Salespeople are the ones going out into the field, reaching out to customers and championing all departments of Worldwide Equipment. Marketing purchases swag and creates any paper materials to hand out to customers. Targeted companies play a huge part in a blitz— they hear out our salespeople and allow us to come in and give them important information for their businesses. All parts of the process work together to create the event.

This summer our blitzes in Kentucky and Ohio were some of the largest ever! WE were able to reach over 600 companies in a combined 7 days of outreach. Huge shout out to our blitz teams, who make this all happen!

Jo Ann Proffit

OFFICE MANAGER

Somerset,KY

Q & A

What is your Name, Job Title and Location?

Jo Ann Proffit - Office Manager at 03 Somerset Division

How long have you been with Worldwide equipment?

28 amazing years! I was hired by Scott Blevins in 1996 as a receptionist. We Somerset was in a different location back then and Lena Bell was the Office Manager. WE were Ford, Mack and Kenworth when I first joined the WE team. WE later added Volvo and removed Ford.

What are your job responsibilities?

I manage HR tasks, prepare deposit summaries, key payables, and assist the Sales Team, I am also on the safety committee. My role supports smooth operation of our office and contributes to our overall success.

What does your average work day look like?

My typical work day involves communication with various departments to manage invoices and truck sales paperwork. I also handle numerous emails and calls with vendors, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

What’s your favorite part of the work day?

Is there anything you do that people would be surprised about?

Success of the Somerset Team. It’s incredibly rewarding to support my co-workers and see our collective efforts lead to great results. Not really, everyone here knows me well. I am kindhearted and cry at sad movies.

What’s the best word to describe how you work?

Diligence! I am committed to finishing every task I start. My mom always told me, “ If you’re going to do a job, do it right!” and I strive to live by that advice everyday.

How do you recharge when not at work?

I recharge by spending quality time with my granddaughter and my two daughters, diving into a good book, and attending church.

“Dave and the rest of the team. Thank you so much for helping us out with a part and dropping it off to us. These guys went out of their way and were able to drop the part at no charge. We were about 20 miles away. Yes it was on the way where they were heading, but being in business for so long, 99% of places will always say no! So thank you guys so much and stay blessed!”

“Excellent place, very grateful to TIN, the lady who works with him, and the mechanic who helped me. Sorry, I don’t remember his name, excellent job, I apprived at night with my Kenworth T680 due to problems with the Regen, thinking that these guys were a serious problem. The next day they attended to my truck and only found a filter problem! In the afternoon I was able to go out and deliver my load on time. Thank you very much! I will gladly return”

-Roberto Martinez

“Was passing through Lexington when my Peterbilt developed a problem with the after treatment system. The local Pete dealer was not going to be able to look at it for over a week. They recommended that I check with Worldwide. At Worldwide, Billy came out and pulled the codes as soon as I arrived, on Wednesday afternoon. They were able to get me in to start the repair on Friday morning, and finished the same evening. They came very close to their original estimate even though there were some complications. Everyone from the facility manager on the down was extremely friendly and helpful. They had all of our parts in stock. Billy and the mechanics went out of their way to keep us updated on their progress. The only problem with worldwide is their tiny little lot, but they even try their best and make that work! Wonderful People! “

-A trucker

Abingdon

“ Andrew and Johnny and the guys within the parts department do an exceptional job taking care of us.They above and beyond to hunt those out of the norm parts for us and do it in a timely manner. Best customer service around in my book….Exceptional Team. Very Pleased and look forward to continued business with them.”

- Jeffery Widener

“I’m the Supervisor at Oakley Transport in the OTR Maintenance Department. First, all of these naysayers are those with the problem. Derek and his team are my go-to shop in the Ohio area. Professional, communicative, prompt, pricing is always on-point, and, most importantly, when I have a truck repaired here, it does not go back to that shop for a repeat issue. Simply phenomenal. Earned my business through honesty, integrity, and fairness”

“We had a good experience buying a used truck. We worked with Evan. Price was able to be negotiated. They made the repairs necessary to bring it up to DOT standards. There were some last minute repairs made that required us to wait but the service made up for that. Plus they made sure both fuel tanks were full.”

-Zayne Shroyer

“I would like to brag on Sara. She keeps me in the loop. I don’t have to wonder what’s going on with my trucks because she is on top of things and makes sure I stay informed. Thank you Sara”
