Upon entering the 195 square metre (2,098 square feet) suite through bespoke Bentley-painted double doors, guests are greeted by the defining characteristics of the luxury automobile brand: a blend of cream and neutral tones, set against the rich wood finishes, elegant marble floors and leather accents on handcraed furnishings. Consistent with Bentley’s ‘hidden delights’ concept, the main wall slides back to expose a TV screen and five Breitling clocks keeping time across major gateway cities. The adjacent study echoes Bentley’s signature Mulliner room with veneer walls, a silk carpet and a luxurious porpoise sofa adorned with cushions featuring Bentley seat belt detailing. Offering residential serenity, this study interprets the signature concept of concealing to reveal a custom made multi-compartment coffee table and Bentley ice lacquer and porpoise hide tray detail. The master bedroom features stitched leather walls and bedside tables inspired by the Mulsanne Speed wing emblem in Burr walnut. In the dressing room, Bentley’s signature diamond detailing is etched into the frame of the mirror. THE WORLD’S FASTEST ULTRAUnique Sports Styling The new, wide front grille houses dark tint matrix brightware, a theme carried through to the Bentley ‘B’ wing vents and even the new dark tint lamps. Drilled alloy sports foot pedals and a knurled sports gear lever bring Bentley’s racing heritage to mind, as you sit in its newly designed diamond quilted seats. Phenomenal Performance Ultimately, the Mulsanne Speed is all about performance. A re-engineered 6¾ litre twinturbocharged V8 engine propels it to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds (100 km/h in 4.9 seconds) and a phenomenal top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h), the gear changes almost imperceptible, thanks to its 8speed automatic transmission. A Car for the Driver - and the Driven The new Mulsanne Speed is much more than just a powerhouse. It is a car for those who prefer to take the wheel themselves; those who insist on being in control. The word ‘Speed’ is engraved on the treadplates, greeting you on entry with an indication of the performance to come. The Darker Side of Luxury Brightware is the name Bentley gives to the polished chrome exterior details that adorn most of the company’s cars. But on the new Mulsanne Speed, bright gives way to darkness, the polished dark tint details lending this Mulsanne a decidedly meaner appearance. The new Speed wing vents and the matrix grille that sits behind the new vertical vanes are recipients of this finish, as are the headlamps and the Bentley ‘B’ rear lamps – the laer being, for many fellow road users, their most enduring memory of the new Mulsanne Speed. Inimitable Interior Design As the Mulsanne’s most sport-focused interpretation, the cabin of the new Mulsanne Speed is unmistakable. The hand-stitched leather hides

26

feature a unique Speed colour split, which can be commissioned in numerous combinations. Diamond quilting can be seen across every seat and each of the four interior door panels, while the four headrests feature hand-embroidered Bentley emblems – which, again, can be commissioned in the colour of your choice. Details Inspired by the Track Wherever you look in the new Mulsanne Speed, you’ll see fine details that evoke Bentley’s long history of success on the track. Drilled alloy sports foot pedals and a knurled sports gear lever lend a dynamic edge to the opulence of the car’s handcraed interior, while thoughtful touches abound, such as knurled chrome surfaces to prevent fingers from slipping on the organ stop air vents and a coined finish on the insides of the door handles. They may be hidden from view, but to the crasmen and women at the Bentley factory, every detail maers, however small. Advanced Vision New all-LED headlamps, repositioned for a sleek, contemporary look, feature a wealth of assistive technology. Built-in light sensors and GPS integration enable them to automatically select from four different light modes, optimised for driving in town, in the country, on the motorway or in situations where you simply need maximum illumination. Safe Haven The new Mulsanne Speed, like the other cars in the range, features new curtain airbags concealed in the roof, for added passenger safety in the event of a collision.

DIGITAL DISTRACTIONS Traditional crasmanship meets digital technology in the new Bentley Theatre Rear Seat Entertainment system exclusive to Mulsanne. At the touch of a buon, twin 10.4” touch screen tablets can be deployed electrically from within the backs of the front seats, providing access to many of the car’s systems for rear seat passengers, including journey and vehicle data, games, locally-stored digital music and disks in the DVD changer. Thanks to the in-car WiFi, streaming of cloud-based media, video calling, internet radio and office functions are also available. If you wish, the tablets can easily be removed from the car and function independently.

28

ALL NEW NERVE CENTRE The front seat infotainment system features a new 8” touch screen display and a faster, more intuitive user interface. Complemented by the new My Bentley and Smart Remote mobile apps, it is compatible with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Mirrorlink.

THE AUDIOPHILE EXPERIENCE Combined with acoustic glazing and soundproofing, the Mulsanne Speed’s sound system delivers an incredible audio experience. The most discerning audiophiles, however, will opt for the incredible sound of Naim™ for Bentley. Among the finest in-car audio systems in the world, it features 20 custommade speakers, a 2,200-Wa amplifier and eight DSP modes, for crystal clear music reproduction, throughout the car. mulsanne/mulsanne-speed.html

BUGAT Bugai has unveiled its Vision Gran Turismo, a hypercar designed for Polyphony Digital's everexpanding slate of fanciful, incredible cars designed for Gran Turismo's virtual world. It will be on the floor of the Frankfurt auto show later this month. The company says that the Vision Gran Turismo car celebrates Bugai's history, but you can clearly see strong elements of Veyron in here, and they've previously hinted that design elements on this car would foreshadow Bugai's future. In other words, we're probably seeing at least a few elements here from the Chiron, the company's next hypercar expected to launch next year for in excess of $2 million with well over 1,400 horsepower and a top speed approaching 300 miles per hour.

30

The designers have unmistakably transferred the most important characteristics of Bugai's design DNA into the styling of the virtual race car. Consequently, the side view of the Bugai Vision Gran Turismo is characterised by the famous Bugai line. And the virtual race car has also been furnished with the most recognisable symbol of a Bugai, the horse shoe on the front grille. It is placed in the centre of the central front air intake as three-dimensional sculpture and supports the structure between the wings and the aerodynamic front splier.

TTI GT An interesting detail on the roof is the NACA air intake, which, with its contrasting light blue finish, not only has a strikingly beautiful shape but also makes a crucial contribution to the control of the aerodynamic conditions on top of and at the rear of the car without compromising the effectiveness of the impressive rear wing.

The car has a strong trailing edge which provides great longitudinal-dynamic stability, exhausts the hot air from the engine compartment and, no less important, communicates to the pursuer in the video game that a Bugai is geing away from him. www.buga LUXURY REDEFINED

TIMEPIECES O Richard Mille RM 07-02 Automatic Pink Sapphire Richard Mille’s success is founded upon three crucial elements: the best in technical innovation, the best of artistry and architecture, the best of the heritage and culture of fine watchmaking with hand finishing. From the very inception of the brand, Richard Mille endeavored to apply the techniques and materials found in the most innovative sectors such as in the domains of F1 racing car development and the aerospace industry to watchmaking, with the goal of creating an extreme timepiece, without compromise, without gimmicks.

Case The bezel, caseband and case back of the RM 0702 are made from solid blocks of Pink Sapphire. Sapphire is known as a particularly scratchresistant material with a hardness of 1800 Vickers. Created from crystals of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), its transparency is a result of the purity of composition. Creating a case of this quality took over 40 days of machining, including 430 hours spent pre-forming the case components and 350 hours polishing the caseband/ bezel/case back ensemble. Gems rotor with variable geometry Heavy external outside edge and heavy edge ring in 5N red gold - Ceramic ball bearing This rotor with variable geometry enables winding to be adjusted to the owner’s activity level. Adjusting the two weights, which can be slid sideways into the correct position and fixed in place by spline screws, modifies the seing. Inertia of the movement is optimal when the two weights are closer to each other, and the barrel rewinds more quickly. If the weights are positioned at either end of the rotor, the inertia is considerably reduced, resulting in the barrel winding more slowly. Free sprung balance with variable inertia This type of balance wheel represents the ultimate in innovation. It guarantees greater reliability when subjected to shocks and also during movement assembly and disassembly, hence beer chronometric results over time. The regulator index is eliminated and a more accurate and repeatable adjustment is possible thanks to 4 small adjustable weights located directly on the balance.

Patek Philippe For decades, split-seconds chronographs that allow lap times to be measured without interrupting an ongoing event time measurement have ranked among the most coveted Patek Philippe specialties. That was already the case in the 1920s, when the manufacture not only presented its first wristwatch chronometer but added the rarapante function right from the start. Thus, collectors, aficionados, and enthusiasts of artisanally craed timekeeping instruments are eager to welcome the new Ref. 5370 split-seconds chronograph. Not least because its elaborate inner life ticks beneath a genuine black enamel dial.

Instantly recognisable The reliability and precision of an ordinary mechanical watch can be affected by a magnetic field of 50 to 100 gauss. But many scientists are exposed to much higher magnetic fields during the course of their work. Rolex’s solution was the Milgauss, created in 1956, the first watch of its kind. Hence the name of the watch, mille being French for thousand. Rolex uses 904L stainless steel for its steel watch cases. 904L is mainly used in the high technology, aerospace and chemical industries, where maximum resistance to corrosion is essential. A superalloy, 904L is extremely resistant and highly polishable. It maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments.

Z-Blue dial Green sapphire crystal marked a first in watchmaking when it was introduced on the Milgauss in 2007. Now this crystal is combined with an electric blue dial, an allusion to the emblematic lightning-bolt-shaped seconds hand. The design, development and production of Rolex bracelets and clasps, as well as the stringent tests they face, involve advanced high technology. And, as with all the components of the watch, aesthetic controls by the human eye guarantee impeccable beauty. The Oyster bracelet is a perfect alchemy of form and function. First introduced in the late 1930s, this particularly robust and comfortable metal bracelet with its broad, flat three-piece links remains the most universal bracelet in the Oyster collection. As a young child, Franco moved to Belgium with his family during the wave of Italian worker migration of the 1950’s. They seled in La Louvière, in those days home to a flourishing mining industry, where Franco grew up. Franco went on to study drama at the Conservatory in Mons where he fell in love with commedia dell’arte and political theatre. By then, his hometown, like other mining towns across Europe, was slowly becoming a ghost of its past. It is at this time that Franco first created his own works, translating the sorrows and dreams of those around him into emotionally-charged, living works of art.

In the 1980’s, action theatre crossed the Atlantic and reached Quebec. Franco followed suit and set foot in Montreal where he became a teacher at the Circus of Immaculate Conception. Franco soon joined the nascent Cirque du Soleil and played an instrumental role in their planetary ascent during the 1980’s and 90’s by signing no less than ten shows over twelve years as their Creative Director: Le Cirque Réinventé, Nouvelle expérience, Saltimbanco, Quidam, Mystère, Alegria, O, …

NE With these shows, Franco will re-invent a genre by mixing human performance, dance, the four elements of life, choreography, technology and music, all tied together by a story told without a single spoken word. The shows Franco created during that era forever changed the face of live entertainment in Las Vegas and decades later, these shows still receive standing ovations every night. LUXURY REDEFINED

In 2000, Franco returned to his hometown of La Louvière and founded Dragone. Our early days will be marked by two big successes in Las Vegas: first, A New Day… with Céline Dion, and then Le Rêve. Over the years, La Louvière became home to world-class teams involved in the entire production process of Franco's creations: from eye-catching illustrations to the manufacturing of costumes and the architecture of theatres, just to name a few.

We were soon creating shows of all shapes and sizes across continents. Then in 2010, Macau became home to our first permanent show in Asia, The House of Dancing Water, a show mastering water on a scale unimagined before. The House of Dancing Water is the very first show of its kind to have won the hearts of Asian audiences. The astonishing success of the show established Dragone as a truly universal cultural Company, humbly embracing local cultures to wow local audiences.

Whatever we do, be it permanent shows in tailormade theatres, cabarets in more intimate spaces or operas in historic opera houses, they all embody the creative vision of our Founder and Artistic Director. We all embody that vision. With the opening of The Han Show in Wuhan in December 2014, we are also inaugurating the ďŹ rst of a string of shows in Mainland China. The Wan Show Wuhan

La Rêve Las Vegas

The Han Show is a celebration of the essence of the Han culture in Wuhan, China. The show features international artists that will awe with dramatic and thrilling performances unlike anything ever staged. The Han Show Theater has forever changed the cityscape of Wuhan. Designed by world-renowned architect Mark Fisher and his team at Stufish, the company he founded, the theatre’s architecture is inspired by the “Red Lantern”. The magnificent building is 60 meters high, and 100 meters in diameter and showcases an exterior spectacle on its shell as it dances with light every evening. The Han Show is Dragone’s most ambitious entertainment endeavour and promises to delight patrons with unprecedented technical innovations and artistic feats. Giant screens mounted and manoeuvred by the largest robot arms ever made will work in tandem with the many surprises that await the 2000 spectators on opening night.

Le Rêve was inspired by an eponymous 1932-painting by Pablo Picasso. Franco’s aim was to create a brand new universe, to beckon people to a world where the theater, performance and the audience become one. Now performing at Wynn Las Vegas, the show features synchronized swimmers as they glide through the water, performing an elegant ballet. Aerialists soar through the air and dip into the aquatic stage. Huge nets rise from the water and high divers make the audience gasp as they plunge nearly 80 feet below. Dance, acrobatics, light and music are all part of the dream that is Le Rêve. The furthest seat is only twelve metres from the stage. Such arrangement nurtures a unique feeling of intimacy between the audience and the artists on stage. LUXURY REDEFINED

Abu Dhabi is a city on the move. Not content with enjoying one of the world's richest oil reserves, the region has recently thrown itself into a massive programme of development. And one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi's crown is the new 5.55kilometre Yas Marina Circuit, which on November 1, 2009, hosted the country's inaugural Grand Prix. It was also the first F1 twighlight race, with powerful lighting ensuring a seamless transition from day to night.

86

Located on the spectacular Yas Island, the track is set to revolutionise the design of future Formula One circuits. Boasting top speeds of 320 km/h and average speeds of 195 km/h, it features nine right turns and 12 le turns and is one of the few venues on the calendar to run in an anti-clockwise direction.

Designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke, Yas Marina has a waterfront seing scenic enough to rival the likes of Monaco and Valencia. And with the track wrapping itself around the island's glamorous newly-built marina, there's plenty of mooring space for the paddock's plethora of yachts. Its distinctive design also boasts several innovative elements including the iconic five-star, 499-room Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi hotel, which straddles the circuit; the 60-metre solar powered Sun Tower, which offers unrivalled views for invited guests; and a pit lane which sees the cars exit via a tunnel passing under the track.

Another world ďŹ rst is that all of the grandstands, including the massive hairpin seating area, are covered to protect spectators from the desert sun, whilst the state-of-the-art pit building boasts 40 air-conditioned garages. Luxuriant comforts and ďŹ rst-rate views are clearly the watchwords for Abu Dhabi race goers.

The track itself was designed with racing in mind. As well as the waterside marina area, there are high-speed sections (including the longest straight on the F1 calendar), tight corners for overtaking, and even a twisty street circuit-style sector. Overall, its diverse elements come together to create one of the longest and most demanding tracks in the world, where close and competitive racing is guaranteed. LUXURY REDEFINED

Why go? It’s hard to find a more spectacular seing for a Grand Prix than Yas Island, on the eastern side of Abu Dhabi. It’s home to numerous 5-star hotels and the Ferrari Theme Park, and the 5.55kilometre (3.45-mile) Yas Marina Circuit is a suitably glamorous addition to the FIA Formula One World Championship. The track has many unique touches. It runs alongside the island’s spectacular marina; it passes under the new 5-star Yas Viceroy hotel and alongside a new 60-metre sun tower. The exit of the pit lane even crosses under the circuit.

88

“It's a very impressive facility and the track layout is fun, so it's a great place," says Williams driver Felipe Massa. "With Ferrari World just around the corner, the race has a strong Ferrari flavour." Away from Yas Island, Abu Dhabi has lots to offer. It’s the largest and wealthiest of the seven United Arab Emirates, with a crude oil supply that isn’t expected to run out until the 22nd century. Unlike some of its neighbours in the Gulf, Abu Dhabi has retained its local traditions and charms, making it an enjoyable and interesting stop-off.

Did you know? Abu Dhabi is the world’s richest city. The average net worth of the 420,000 permanent citizens is US$17 million. Useful tips With the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix being near the end of the season, the weather conditions are not too extreme. Midday temperatures of between 25-30 degrees can be expected, but the grandstands are all covered - a ďŹ rst for a circuit anywhere in the world - so shade is easy to come by. LUXURY REDEFINED

Where to go? Abu Dhabi has a very cosmopolitan feel and there is something for everyone. There’s an eclectic mix of international cuisine to suit all budgets, starting at the Emirates Palace (for a time the world’s most expensive hotel) down to the cafe culture that prevails throughout the Middle East. For traditional Abu Dhabi cuisine, head to the area surrounding the fish market in Abu Dhabi city. There are plenty of other tourist aractions. If you want local culture, why not head to the camel market in Al Ain or the Abu Dhabi falcon hospital. And, of course, there is the aforementioned Ferrari Theme Park, covering 250,000 square metres and featuring a G-Force Tower, driving schools for children and adults, high-tech theatres and lots of cars on display.

From 2012 there'll be even more of an international flavour in Abu Dhabi, with the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the first Louvre museum outside France. Where to stay? All the best hotel chains are in Abu Dhabi - and many of them on Yas Island - so you can expect to be looked aer wherever you go. Most of the F1 luminaries stay in the 5-star Yas Viceroy hotel, which is just a short walk from the F1 paddock. But for those looking for more modest surroundings, there are cheaper options available in Abu Dhabi city.

Extended stay Once you’ve checked out Abu Dhabi city, why not head out into the Rub Al Khali desert, which is known locally as 'The Empty Quarter'. Only a short distance from the city limits, you’ll find yourself surrounded by sand dunes. The town of Al Ain is another popular tourist destination. It’s regarded as the spiritual heart of Abu Dhabi, having been built on seven oases and inhabited for more than 3,000 years. It’s on the Tentative List of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.

Enthusiasts only There’s plenty to see at Yas Marina Circuit, aside from watching Formula One cars. There’s drag racing and an off-road driving centre, and you can test your own skills at a state-of-the-art kart centre. If you think your technique needs some work, there’s even a driving school for you to aend. bi.html LUXURY REDEFINED

yas Marina Circuit is an awe-inspiring experience for drivers and spectators alike, with a waterfront seing to rival the likes of Monaco and Singapore. The circuit is straddled by the yas Viceroy Hotel and also features a 60-metre solar powered Shams Tower and a pit lane, which sees the cars exit via a tunnel passing under the track. Off-track, the entertainment throughout this event shows Abu Dhabi at its most glamorous. Among other things, live concerts featuring performances by major international artists, in the past have included Price, Jay Z, Muse, Beyoncé, Aerosmith, Linkin Park, and Paul McCartney to name a few, as well VIP parties for F1®’s top stars make this the uncontested social and sporting occasion of the year. Mr. Bernie Ecclestone, President of Formula One, has described the yas Marina Circuit as “one of the most exciting tracks I have ever seen,” high praise for the venue of the first F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix which was held on November 1, 2009. From the twisting Singaporestyle street sections to the Monaco-style marina, the yas Marina Circuit serves up an array of driving challenges for the world’s best drivers.
