"The study focused on the horizontal assessment of the services sector as an input to the Diagnostic Trade Integrated Study (DTIS) Update Report. It aimed at providing information to the national authorities on the services regulations, in view of their WTO accession negotiations and the need to leverage the services sector for improving the country's competitiveness. Ultimately enhancing the regulatory environment for the services sector is expected to promote economic diversification and job creation. The rest of this note highlights some of the conclusions and recommendations of the study. In general, Liberia’s services sector is under-developed, which reduces the country’s competitiveness and impairs the development of further trade oriented activities.
