AFT’s Weingarten Rejects Trump's Schools Reopening Guidelines as Too Little, Too Late

ASHINGTON: American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten issued the following statement after the White House convened a forum on reopening schools and published contentfree “recommendations” to physically reopen school buildings in the middle of a pandemic: “Everyone wants to return to some kind of normalcy, but the White House recommendations are too little, too late, and

n the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, news reports have suggested that police unions bear some of the responsibility for the violence perpetrated against African Americans. Critics have assailed these unions for protecting officers who have abused their authority.
