Supporting SCRTC customers and staffers

Justin Willis is an information technician who has worked 10 years with SCRTC. He processes payroll and data gathering for reporting. He likes to build computers, listen to music and enjoys gaming and comedy movies.
Data processing clerk Andrea Murray has been with SCRTC for 24 years. She has two children, Kyle and Rachel Pickett, and a pair of granddogs, Archie and Casper.
“I come from a pretty big family,” Andrea says. “So when we all get together it is very special. I love cooking, baking and trying new recipes, and usually my family are the taste-testers.” Andrea likes inspirational movies produced by the Kendrick Brothers and Marvel movies, especially the “Iron Man” series. She uses Waze app for directions any time she travels.
Gwen Higdon is a customer support clerk who has worked in the Glasgow office for 10 years. She has a son, Matthew Key, and loves her pets, including a dog, Lizzi, and four cats, Gracie, Alli, Cassie and Pumpkin. “I enjoy being outside gardening, boating, playing Frisbee with my girl, Lizzi, and spending time with family and friends,” Gwen says.
SCRTC’s data development department maintains archives, initiates software upgrades and coordinates with other departments on a range of issues. The team also processes payroll checks and customers’ payments, maintains databases and compiles the lists for capital credits distribution.
The regulatory department’s diverse responsibilities include handling everything from service contracts with customers to the intercompany contracts critical to providing services. Duties also include monitoring SCRTC’s compliance with orders issued by state and federal regulatory and legislative bodies.
Protecting Personal Information
As a telecommunications carrier, SCRTC is required to establish and maintain systems to protect the personal information of subscribers. This is known as Customer Proprietary Network Information, or CPNI. Examples include the telephone numbers subscribers call, the times those calls are made, the duration of calls and the amount of subscribers’ bills. It does not include names, addresses or phone numbers of subscribers.
SCRTC MUST:
• Obtain customers’ approval to use, disclose or permit access to CPNI for marketing or other purposes.
• Notify customers of their right to restrict the use of their CPNI.
• Take reasonable measures to discover and protect against attempts to gain unauthorized access to CPNI.
• Notify law enforcement and affected customers of a breach of CPNI.
SCRTC will have a booth at the South Central Kentucky Business Expo on August 17th at Ralphie’s Fun Center in Glasgow. Stop by from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. when the Expo Exhibit Hall opens to the general public and say hello!
The event is hosted by Barren Inc. Check their Facebook page for updates.
