WCC Teams with Wachusett Brewing Company BERNHARD LAGER

We took a trip to the Wachusett Brewery and worked side by side with the Wachusett Brewery team in creating and introducing “Worcester Country Club Craft Beers” to our Members. After many tastings (hey, somebody’s gotta do it, tough part of the job) we came to a consensus for a series of seasonal WCC Brews we think you will enjoy. Your input will be important as you taste our brews. All comments will assist us when developing more WCC craft beers down the road. (Thank you to Jen, Kim and Lori for “sacrificing” their time and sharing their thoughts throughout the tastings).

Wachusett Brewing Company was founded in 1994 by 3 Massachusetts college buddies who developed a significant appreciation for craft beer during their adventures of biking, canoeing and hiking around New England. Armed with a “we can do this” attitude, the three cast off from their careers in engineering and biology to pursue their passion to make great beer. Today, Wachusett has grown to become one of the largest breweries in the Northeast with a diverse and award-winning portfolio of ales and lagers that are still made with the same “we can do this” attitude that started the brewery over 20 years ago. We thank then for partnering with us in the endeavor.

BERNHARD LAGER “German Style Dark Lager” Dark, complex and delicious lager pays homage to the classic lager style common to Munich, Germany. Brewed with both German and English Malt and hops to create smooth, rich flavors of toffee, biscuit and chocolate followed by a clean refreshing finish.

ABV: 4.7% / IBU: 26

Here is a list of our upcoming WCC Seasonal Brews; November through February - The “Bernhard Lager” (see description to the left). Arrival date Wednesday 11/14!

March through May - “Rye-Der Cup” Ale An uncommon brew that balances the unique aroma and flavor from dry hopping with the crisp, dry finish of rye.

ABV: 5.0% / IBU: 25 Great for spring with lingering flavors while you watch the Masters and other tour events here at the Club.

June through August - “Ale Irwin” Our modern take on an “American Pale Ale” that features a grand slam of hops including Lemon Drop and Denali, as well as dry hopping with Mosaic to give “Ale Irwin” it’s signature aromics and fresh hop profile.

ABV: 5.3% / IBU: 35 Light and refreshing, this will be a summer favorite.

Santa will be our guest at our brunches in December and when he visits he usually brings candy canes for all of the children.

However, if you would like to drop off beforehand, or bring with you, a gift from your child's wish list to be given to him/her by Santa, please feel free to do so. Please label the gift with the child's name on it. Thank you!
