WORLD A 3-Part Global Television series Youth Uniting Nations to Save Life on Earth A recent UNICEF study finds young people (15-24) much more likely to identify as global citizens than over 40s, especially those who live in cities rather than rural areas and those who use the internet daily:
Yet – as the number of citizens accessing the internet and living in cities accelerates geometrically, and as it becomes ever clearer that solving challenges like the climate emergency, pollution and pandemics has to be done globally rather than nationally, global organisations like the United Nations are becoming weaker and more marginalised: only one of the leaders of the veto-wielding P5 nations bothered to turn up to this year’s UN General Assembly. This series will give youth from the P5 nations and elsewhere the chance to explore past efforts to unite nations, analyse present realities, and project, in the Context of the UN’s Summit of the Future, how they might unite peoples and nations to save life on earth in future.
