My business started back in 2011 after being brought into the fiber world by a friend. She wanted to get back into vending and talked me into sharing a spot with her at Oregon Flock and Fiber. We had so much fun and I even earned a little bit of money to support my newly found hobby which quickly turned into a side business. My side business has nowturnedintomyfulltimedreambusiness.

Yes, my friend Jen from Hanks in the Hood was my enabler and I was also inspired by Ashley Martineau from Neauveau Fiber Arts and her early YouTube years, I learned a lot from her tutorials. Oh and I did get the art yarn bug from seeing Lexi Boeger aka Pluckyfluff'sgorgeousyarns.
I learned by trial and error as well as watching a few videos on YouTube When I first started there were hardly any videos at that time. I also took a class by Jacey Boggs and then took that information and created myownstyleovertheyears.
WAFAissuchawonderfulwelcominggroup of like minded fiber artists from all over. I love how well everyone gets along and encourages and supports each other. I am so proud to be a part of this group. It has enabled me to grow my business and expand my connections with other fiber businesses, newfriendsandcustomerswith the live sales and demos which I will be gettingbacktosoon.Ihaveanewstudioin theworksandhavebigplans!
I don't currently have animals. I did have a few German Angora rabbits during my first few years in the fiber arts which I loved and their fiber was gorgeous I keep thinking I wouldliketohavethemagainsowewillsee

Zen Fiber Arts grew out of a love for fiber arts and finding unique ways to relax. Heather began spinning during the height of the pandemic as a stress outlet while working in healthcare and a mother of young children. Now a mom of three boys Heather uses her creative outlet to feature small-batch, hand dyed yarns and fibers and handspun yarn. LIVE Friday at 2:30 pm eastern

Montadale sheep are an American breed developed from Columbia and Cheviot crosses, prized for their bright white fleece and excellent staple length. Their wool is soft yet springy, typically 27–30 microns, with a medium hand that spins beautifully into lofty, durable yarn. Montadale fiber is a joy for sweaters, outerwear, and projects where warmth and resilience matter.

I would love for everybody to enjoy the finest spinning wool and yarn I am privileged to grow and use for creating. The physical and emotional rewards accompanying raising lovely, sustainable wool go far beyond the beauty of the final product. We raise Merinos, Polypays, and Natural Colored Rambouillet / Columbia genetics. Join me for my show!
