We moved to a farm 28 years ago, and purchased our first four sheep, that’s when our journey started. We added the wool mill 10yearsago.

To raise healthy sheep and provide quality wool products and also support local sheep farms.

Paula Simmons books were an inspiration to get involved in the wool aspects of raising sheep.
We are a small family farm and wool mill in Southern Michigan. Raising sheep and processingwoolisnotadirtyjob, butwelove it (most of the time) It does come with its struggles. We enjoy working with local farms adding value to wool that otherwise would mostlikelyjustbetossedout. Weloveallthingssheepandwool.

Our July 2025 book club pick is Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher a darkly enchanting and refreshingly original fairy tale for grown-ups. This gripping novel follows Marra, the overlooked third daughter of a royal family, who sets out on an impossible quest to save her sister from an abusive prince. With grit, heart, and unexpected humor, Marra assembles a motley crew including a disgraced knight, a bone dog, and a fairy godmother to take on a kingdom. If you love strong female leads, twisted magic, and subverted fairy tale tropes, you won’t want to miss this one!

Macedo’s Mini Acre is an alpaca ranch located in Turlock, California. We have alpacas and llamas, started raising them over 21 years ago. Fleeces come from both huacaya and suri alpacas, as well as our llamas. Maureen is an Alpaca Owner’s Association Spin Off Judge and an Alpaca Llama Show Association Fiber Judge. Larry operates our Belfast Mill Equipment to produce core spun rug yarn, dryer balls, batts and rovings. Maureen enjoys dyeing fiber and creating custom batts for spinning.

This month, we invite you to journey with us through the breathtaking beauty of our national parks—from the rugged peaks of the Rockies to the serene shores of Acadia, and even beyond to the wilds of Canada. Our June collection celebrates the natural wonders that inspire awe and deserve our care. Featuring our Fiber of the Month: US-grown and processed Rambouillet—soft, versatile, and perfect for next to the skin items . Let the colors and textures of the wilderness guide your creativity, and help us honor these treasured landscapes through mindful making just in time for TdF.
Aoire Maith (ear-eh mAA) translates to Good Shepherd in Irish. We at Aoire Maith Fibre Studios believe in the good men and women who spend their time and love shepherding their flocks. We believe it is important to support these good shepherds.

Rambouillet/Columbia crosses and Merino/Targhee crosses. Our lamb pen is a menagerie of sizes, colors and patterns all beautiful. Our sheep, in collaboration with midwest mills, create the finest combed top, roving, varieties of yarn, and core spun yarn. I would love for everybody to enjoy the finest spinning fiber and yarn I am privileged to grow and use for creating. The physical and emotional rewards that accompany raising lovely sustainable wool goes far beyond the beauty of the final product. Please join me for my June show!
