When unboxing new shocks, it’s normal for different types to behave differently:
Foamcell Shock Absorbers
• These shocks are shipped unstrapped and won’t extend by themselves.
• They contain tiny Nitrogen bubbles inside the Foamcell. There is no static internal pressure in a Foamcell Shock.
• Anti-cavitation properties only activate once the shock is in use on the vehicle.
What This Means for Your customers:
Nitrogen Gas Shock Absorbers
• Usually shipped compressed with a strap.
• After removing the strap, the shock will self-extend due to the internal gas pressure.
• Don’t worry if a Foamcell shock doesn’t pop out of the box, this is normal.
• Always manually extend Foamcell shocks before installation.
• Nitrogen gas shocks will extend automatically once unstrapped.
