NEW TITLES & NEW EDITIONS 2024-25

Our British walking guides are continuing to sell well, and we’ve been busy keeping the series updated with many new editions plus a new title – Glyndwr’s Way –which brings the total number of titles in the series up to 20.

Already this year we’ve released three new editions of British walking guides as well as the sixth edition of Kilimanjaro –The Trekking Guide

Saharan veteran Chris Scott has spent the last year researching and writing an expanded new edition of Morocco Overland –Route guide from the Atlas to the Sahara (JAN 2025).

Other forthcoming new editions for Jan-Aug 2025 include Offa’s Dyke Path (FEB 2025), North Downs Way (MAR 2025), Ridgeway (APR 2025), Scottish Highlands Hillwalking (MAY 2025) and Pembrokeshire Coast Path (JUN 2025). Bryn Thomas (Publisher)

TRAILBLAZER’S BRITISH WALKING GUIDES

Unique mapping features

In many guidebooks for walkers the reader has to read a route description then try to relate it to the map. Our guides are much easier to use because directions, tricky junctions, places to stay and eat, points of interest and walking times are all written onto the maps themselves. With their uncluttered clarity, these are not general-purpose maps but fully edited maps drawn by walkers for walkers.

Largest-scale walking maps

At a scale of just under 1:20,000 (8cm or 3 1/8 inches to one mile) the maps in these guides are bigger than even the most detailed walking maps currently available in the shops. We now also include colour stage mapping and trail profiles.

Not just a trail guide – Includes where to stay, where to eat & public transport Our guidebooks cover the complete walking experience, not just the route. Accommodation options for all budgets are provided as well as places to eat. Detailed public transport information for all access points to each trail means that there are itineraries for all walkers, for hiking the entire route as well as for day or weekend walks. There’s colour mapping for stage sections (one stage per page), including trail profiles . And with twocolour mapping in all new editions, we’re making our guides even more attractive to the reader.

Downloadable GPS waypoints

Marked on our maps and downloadable from the Trailblazer website. All new editions include what3words references.

London to Walsingham Camino: London to Walsingham Camino: The Pilgrimage Guide The Pilgrimage Guide Andy Bull

Before Henry VIII outlawed pilgrimage and the veneration of saints in 1538, the route from London to the shrine at Walsingham in Norfolk was the most popular pilgrimage in England.

This guide follows a newly-resurrected 178-mile route. Divided into 13 stages, it’s a truly uplifting walking experience, following footpaths and quiet lanes across the glorious east of England. The route has now been given official recognition by the Confraternity of St James, better known for their organisation of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. That means any pilgrim who walks at least 25km of it can use that 25km towards the total of 100km that must be walked to get the official credencial on reaching Santiago.

‘Andy Bull’s superb guide is a must for pilgrims’ INDEPENDENT CATHOLIC NEWS

‘I have walked to Walsingham twice … [and] … I walked the Camino del Norte to Santiago. I am therefore delighted that the route from London to Walsingham is now better established and therefore more available for other pilgrims and also drawn into the network of pilgrimages under the umbrella of the Confraternity of Saint James. Walsingham is England’s Nazareth’.

FROM THE FOREWORD BY STEPHEN COTTRELL, ARCHBISHOP OF YORK

Pilgrim Pathways: 1-2 day walks Pilgrim Pathways: 1-2 day walks on ancient sacred ways on ancient sacred ways Andy Bull

There are many ancient pilgrim paths in Britain, some long-forgotten, and these routes are inspired by the very best of them. They cover Britain’s most inspiring landscapes and most powerfully spiritual places, distilled into walks taking one or two days.
