LIFE’S A GARDEN... DIG IT

Farm to Table: How The Lodge at Woodloch provides the freshest ingredients for diners

A truly “back to nature” dining experience awaits patrons at TREE restaurant at the Lodge at Woodloch, a Destination Spa. Ingredients incorporated into so many of their beautiful dishes are grown only a few hundred feet away from the hotel complex at Blackmore Farm and Orchard.

The complex, maintained year-round, includes greenhouses, a vegetable garden, orchard, composting operation, mushroom logs, and high tunnels. Blackmore even keeps their own bees for pollunation purposes around the sprawling Lodge campus and of course, honey.

Their farmers believe in a philosophy of giving back to the environment fi rst before ever receiving its bounty. They feed everything- from the soil’s microbes and earthworms, to the bees and butterfl ies, all the way up to the birds, deer, and yes, humans too. Their gardening philosophy and the ecology it has helped create is open to spa guests to explore, all day, every day. More and more, guests want to know exactly where their food is coming from and how it is getting to their table. Together with their farm, farming practices and relationships with other local farms, guests have never been closer to their food sources. Our guests realize that, along with fi tness activities and spa treatments, wellness is not just WHAT you put into their body but also how it gets there.

Additionally, the garden provides farm-to-massage table healing herbs and fl owers for select spa treatments. Items such as rosemary, lavender, and calendula have abundant healing qualities and are grown with care each year. The staff even provides Lodge guests with gardening classes.

Put it all together, patrons can even book a Garden dinner outdoor event where everything comes full circle with a delcious meal shared with friends, in the very garden where it all started.
