Halftime festivities will feature the presentation of the homecoming court, and the announcement of the 2013 homecoming king and queen.

Tickets for the football game will be available at the gate. $6/adults $4/children All Woodlands Christian students receive free admission.

In the event of inclement weather, the presentation of the homecoming court will take place at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the SLC. The barbeque dinner will be served as scheduled.

Upper School News Spirit Week!

High school students got into the homecoming spirit with themed dress days this week as follows: Tuesday-Nerd Day; WednesdayTropical Day; Thursday-Disney Day. All students in lower, middle and high school will show their Warrior homecoming spirit by dressing in green and gold on Friday.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Warriors Gear Up For Homecoming Game The Woodlands Christian Warriors travelled to Shepherd High School last week and suffered a 6-41 loss. The team is looking to rebound on Friday night, September 20, in the big homecoming game when they take on KIPP Collegiate. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

You won’t want to miss what is sure to be an exciting evening! The presentation of the homecoming court and the crowning of the 2013 homecoming king and queen will be featured during half-time festivities.

Warrior Volleyball Update The Warrior varsity volleyball team hosted St. Thomas Episcopal on Thursday, September 12 and won the match 3-0. The team travelled to Brazos Chrisitan on September 17 and came away with a 0-3 loss. The team is now 3-2 in district and 7-9-1 for the season.

Bring your homecoming spirit to the match against St. Joseph Catholic High School on Thursday night! The junior varsity team gets the action started at 5:00 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 6:00 p.m. The high school homecoming mum exchange will take place immediately following the varsity match.

Warrior Cross Country Update What an incredible job everyone did on Saturday at the Baylor Invitational!

The evening prior to the race we walked the course, prayed, encouraged each other and discussed tactics. Friday night in Waco we had an awesome time of worship (perhaps singing a little too loudly for the hotel lobby!) and prayer time. The team is collectively seeking God's leading and we are seeing a spiritual explosion in our group.

On Saturday, our girls’ team (see photo center) was lined up right next to our main competition for the TAPPS 3A state title this year -Ft. Worth Bethesda Christian. Even though it is very early in the season, we beat Bethesda! In fact, the girls’ team beat many of the largest 4A and 5A schools in the state, and our girls are already very close to personal best times. All five of our scoring runners are ranked in the top

20 at the state level for TAPPS 3A. The runners and their rankings are as follows: Hannah Shearer, #4; Alyssa Regier, #9; Hailey Hanigan, #12; Katy Adams, #16; Riley Farra, #19.

For the boys, this was the first 5000m race of the season and a good test of our conditioning. Every single member surpassed or established a personal best time. In fact, out of 180 runners, we had three finish in the top third! Right now at the TAPPS 3A state level, seniors Logan Shearer and Eun Sung Cheon are ranked #10 and #12, respectively, and freshman Sam Mueck is ranked #17.

We have two weeks until our next races at Houston Christian for both the middle school and high school. Go Warrior Cross Country!

Join The Woodlands Christian Academy coaching staff for exciting after school programs that will help lower school boys and girls (1st-5th grade) to develop the fundamental skills necessary for success on and off the playing field. Camps offered include: baseball, basketball, football, softball, track and volleyball.
