ACT justly . . . LOVE mercy . . . WALK humbly Wow! What an amazing response to this year’s annual fund campaign! We achieved our highest participation level in school history – 99%! As a direct result of last year’s 97% participation, we received a foundation gift of $10,000. These kinds of gifts take time, and this is an excellent start. We look forward to seeing an even higher response from foundations and corporations in the future as they see the full commitment of our families to the mission of Woodlands Christian. We exceeded our goal of $250,000 by $115,688! These excess funds will be applied toward an exciting improvement to our campus, which I will announce next month. I am so grateful to Courtney and Michael Schindewolf for chairing this campaign. Thank you to every family that participated so generously and encouraged others to join us in this effort to financially strengthen all of our programs at Woodlands Christian. Your gift blesses students today and tomorrow with an education that will equip leaders for Christ – spiritually, academically, physically and socially. Please join our faculty and students tomorrow (Friday) afternoon from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. as we celebrate the completion of our successful annual fund campaign with Kona Ice, dunking booths and water balloons. After this event, we will enjoy grade-level tailgate parties in the grove from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and our last regular season home football game at 7:00 p.m. Come cheer with us in grateful appreciation for our many blessings.

Lower School News Community Helpers The early childhood classes learned about community helpers in a very real way with recent visits from a police officer, a nurse/paramedic and a local firefighting unit.
Aiden Sanchez shared his mom, Holly, a paramedic and a neonatal ICU nurse, and his dad, Jeremy, a law enforcement officer with the pre-kindergarten class to learn about real-life community helpers.

Upper School News National Honor Society Announces New Members
The Michael Bruns Chapter of the National Honor Society recently announced new members for the 2014-2015 school year. To be considered for membership, students must complete an extensive application, submit three letters of recommendation, and have a 4.0 GPA. Those students earning membership in the National Honor Society are as follows: Sam Mueck, Anna Berent, Darcy Sanford, Jake Adams, Christian Mardaga, Marielle Olivier, Hannah Shearer, Amanda Hunnicut, Chloe Scrushy, Emily Rogers, and David Cure.
Interact Club Serves Senior Citizens — by Amy Rowe The Interact Club was privileged to be a part of a recent community-wide event dedicated to serving the senior citizen population in The Woodlands area. Serving Our Seniors, hosted by Interfaith of the Woodlands, has become one of our favorite service projects. The students have the opportunity to beautify the yards and homes of these individuals as well as socialize and pray with them before leaving for the day. We had two teams this year serving several individuals who were extremely grateful and complimentary of our hardworking and polite students. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Warriors Continue to Dominate, The Unit Chosen Players of the Week The Warriors continued their unbeaten streak with a 71-18 victory over Legacy Christian in Beaumont last Friday. The team is unbeaten and is ranked #1 in TAPPS 3A (MaxPreps), #5 in the state among private schools (Dave Campbell’s Texas Football) and #9 among area private schools (The Houston Chronicle). With the win on Friday, the Warriors are now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in district play. The final home game of the regular season will take place on Friday, October 24 when the Warriors host Rosehill Christian. Football and cheerleading team members
from the Class of 2015 will be honored in a special half-time senior night ceremony. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Pre-game festivities will feature an all school tailgate so be sure to arrive early! The entire Warrior offensive line, a.k.a. The Unit, was chosen as players of the week by The Courier. In the online voting, the offensive line finished well ahead of the other ten nominees. For the complete story, click here.
Volleyball Playoffs Begin The Warriors 3-1 victory over St. Joseph Catholic High School on October 21 knotted things up for second place in TAPPS 3A, District 6. To determine the second place spot, the Warriors faced Katy Faith West in tiebreaker match on Wednesday, October 22 at Rosehill Christian resulting in a 1-3 loss. The team will now face Round Rock Christian for the bi-district round of the playoffs on Thursday, October 23. The match will be played in Round Rock.
Cross Country Hosts Meet The high school team competed well at the 3rd Annual Woodlands Christian Cross Country Meet held on our campus on Saturday. We hosted over 700 runners from 44 different high schools. Thanks to everyone for their outstanding efforts to make this meet such a success. We are looking forward to our trip to Waco for the TAPPS state championship meet on Saturday, October 25. (See photo top right.) To read more about the 3rd Annual Woodlands Christian Cross Country Meet, click here. WOW! The middle school boys’ and girls’ teams both won the North Houston Athletic League Championship! The boys’ team won by 1 point and the girls’ team dominated coming in ahead by 24 places! (See photo bottom right.) Through the course of this season, the teams got up early in the mornings to run hills, gain strength and endurance. In total they ran nearly 200 miles.
