Band Students Attend Symphony Performance Woodlands Christian band students recently attended a Houston Symphony Explorer Concert at Jones Hall. The program was titled, Ways to Use Words, and focused on the various ways authors (and composers) express themselves. The concert featured works from multiple composers including Beethoven, Copland, Prokofiev, Sibelius, and Williams. The trip allowed students to see, hear and learn about a full-blown symphony. Information and photos submitted by Suzette Wheeler.
Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow... As you may have noticed, many of our high school students (and several faculty) are sporting varying degrees of facial hair this month. While it is a requirement that all of our male students be clean shaven, a special exception has been made. During the month of November, our school is participating in No Shave
November. The goal is to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Our student council has invited male high school students to step away from their razors for the month in exchange for a $25 donation towards prostate cancer research. As an added incentive, Jeff Rollins, high school Bible teacher, offered to shave his head if students raised $650 in donations. As you can see from the photo, our students did indeed meet that goal! For more information about No Shave November click here. Information provided by Steve Zeal, Principal NOVEMBER 8, 2013
