Head Of School Notes In the spring of 2012, we began a capital campaign to fund construction of a 28,000 square foot classroom building. After receiving cash and pledges sufficient to cover the $3.6 million costs, we procured a $2.5 construction loan from Woodforest Bank (to be repaid from pledges) and broke ground in May 2013. The Joshua Academic Center opened in January 2014. I am pleased to announce that the construction loan for the Joshua Academic Center has now been completely repaid! We are eternally grateful to the many families and friends who sacrificially funded this beautiful building for our students. (Please see the list of donors on the following page. A plaque recognizing all who gave $10,000 or more will be placed in the building in February.) The addition of the Joshua Academic Center enabled us to eliminate three modular classroom buildings, provide safer facilities, accommodate more students, offer a state-of-the-art learning environment, and enhance the overall beauty of The Woodlands Christian Academy campus. Since completion of the Joshua Academic Center, we have also completed a second gymnasium and added an eight-lane track, synthetic turf and stadium seating, all without adding any additional debt. In keeping with our master plan, the next project will be a new high school building; the Nehemiah Academic Center will then accommodate our middle school students. I am awed and humbled by the generosity of the Woodlands Christian community. Thank you to everyone who stepped forward in faith to fund not only the Joshua Academic Center, but so many other facilities and programs. May God bless you abundantly for faithfully contributing to the growth of a campus that strives to build leaders for Christ’s eternal kingdom.
