Warrior Varsity Track Program Hosts First Meet The Woodlands Christian Academy varsity track and field program hosted the first annual Woodlands Christian Invitational meet on Saturday, February 20. The Warriors hosted 21 area high schools with approximately 500 athletes participating in the meet. During the course of the event, we welcomed an estimated 1,500 visitors and heard numerous compliments on our outstanding facilities and beautiful campus. An undertaking of this size requires a tremendous amount of support and we’d like to thank all of the volunteers and parents who gave of their time to make our first ever varsity track meet such a success. Here are the highlights from the event — - Out of the 22 schools entered, our girls’ team finished in second place overall, and the boys’ team finished in third place - Alyssa Regier (silver – 800m) - Darcy Sanford (gold – high jump; gold – long jump; bronze – discus; gold – shot put; silver – 100m hurdles) - Hannah Shearer (bronze – 1600m) - Olivia Gregory (bronze – 3200m) - Girls 4x200m relay (bronze) - Marielle Olivier, Azaria Ragbir, Morgan McBurney, Casey Gaige - Girls 4x400m relay (bronze) - Marielle Olivier, Casey Gaige, Madelyn Rasberry, Alyssa Regier - Jake Adams (gold – 800m) - Joshy Shearer (silver – 1600m; bronze – 3200m) - Kyle Clark (gold – pole vault) - Boys 4x200m relay (silver) - Elijah Bajoyo, Nick O’Connor, Matt Michel, Ethan Peters - Boys 4x400m relay (gold) - Ryan Doner, Jake Adams, Zach Kontor, Kyle Clark On Thursday afternoon, we will host our second middle school track & field meet. Please come out and cheer on our middle school team! On Saturday, February 27, our varsity team travels to the St. John’s School for a three-team competition with St. John’s and Houston Christian.
