All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight
Antonia Randerson joins our faculty as a Pre-K teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from California State UniversityNorthridge and holds Bilingual Generalist (EC-4th grade) certification from the state of Texas. She most recently taught pre-kindergarten at Austin Elementary in the Conroe ISD. “I use a variety of techniques such as games, anchor stations and cooperative learning to target all learning styles in my classroom. We are very busy working but have a lot of fun at the same time!”
Shawn Lusk joins our staff as the manager of The Armory, our campus store. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Sam Houston State University and is a former teacher. Her retail experience includes being co-manager of Jazz Rags Dancewear as well as being the owner and director of the Woodlands Dance Force which included operating a store very similar to The Armory. “A great foundation for our campus store has been laid. I want to continue to build on this with even more fun, fresh and hip items that will further promote the Woodlands Christian brand.”
On Thursday, August 15 Chef Sean Smith and his staff will begin serving lunch to our students in the Warrior Café. All of our food service operations have been brought in house and we are looking forward to many exciting improvements coming this year. In addition to upgrading our food service, the cafeteria has undergone some physical changes as well. What used to be the main serving line will now exclusively be used for our high quality salad bar and grab and go retail items. Students purchasing hot lunches will now go through a serving line in the main cafeteria area.
The method of payment for student lunches is being streamlined as well. All student lunches will be charged to your Woodlands Christian business office account. Parents will receive a monthly invoice for lunches purchased. Pricing for hot lunches is as follows: Pre-K-2nd grade, $4.75; 3rd-8th grade, $5.50; high school, $6.50. Extra portions of meat $1.50. Two extra sides - $1.50. Deli sandwich combo (sandwich, chips and a drink) - $6.50. Salad bar - $6.50. Grab and go items (pre-made salads, sandwiches, fruit cups, etc.) will be priced accordingly and will range in price from 50¢ and up.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS Cross country season for high school and middle school has begun with the largest teams in the history of the program! The middle and high school teams practice from 6:30 -7:30 a.m., Monday - Friday. All 6th - 12th grade students are encouraged to participate our cross country program. There will be a parent information meeting on Monday, August 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the SLC. Coach Tom Earle will present the cross country training plan and answer your questions. Middle & High School 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Classes will begin earlier in order to accommodate a longer lunch period.
