Middle School (5th-8th grade) New students - In order to accommodate lower school dismissal, please arrive at the Nehemiah Academic
Center (NAC) no earlier than 11:15 a.m. Student ambassadors will be on hand to escort new students to the library for a brief meet and greet prior to orientation which begins at noon in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). Dismissal at 3:30 p.m. at the NAC. Click here for details.

All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight Crystal Chapman will teach high school English. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she holds Texas state certification in English language arts and reading (grades 8-12). Most recently she taught English II and English II pre-AP at Northland Christian School. “I work tirelessly to make my subject interesting, especially to those students whose first love may not be English. I use popular culture where appropriate and create collaborative assignments that allow students to work together to demonstrate their learning. I also flip my lessons to allow time for students to engage in, in-depth discussions.”
Mia Harpel will teach middle school history. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Ottawa University-Kansas City and a Masters in Education from Mid America Nazarene University - Olathe, Kansas. She previously taught seventh grade language arts at Northland Christian School. “My classroom activities change daily. I am not the kind of teacher who relies on a textbook to impart knowledge, rather I use the text as a guide and research interactive ways to allow students to fully appreciate the information.”
Lisa Woods will direct our middle school choir program. She holds a Bachelor of University Studies degree with an emphasis in reading instruction from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. Her varied experience includes time at Collins Intermediate School here in The Woodlands in Accelerated Reading Instruction as well as teaching first grade at David Elementary. She has recently returned to Texas after spending several years in the United Kingdom and Angola, Africa where she taught music and led choir. “I have a background in musical theater, puppetry, choral music, and solo and ensemble in both vocal and instrumental music. I believe that by establishing a safe classroom environment, one that celebrates the differences among learners and encourages them to be risk takers, students are more likely to be engaged and interested in whatever they are learning.”

All School News Familiar Faces - New Places!
Karen Hartman, formerly a member of our 1st grade faculty, will now teach 2nd grade.
Palvin Williams, formerly a member of our 4th grade faculty, now joins our middle school faculty teaching theatre arts.
Amy Rowe, formerly a member of our high school English department, will now be our high school Academic & College Advisor. She will remain the chair of our upper school English department.
