All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight Amy Cain will join our 5th grade teaching team this year. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from Dallas Baptist University. She also completed the Post Bachelor Teacher Certification Program at Dallas Baptist University. In addition, she earned an Associate degree in Practical Theology from the Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. Most recently she taught at the Gyeonggi Suwon International School in Suwon, South Korea. “I believe that an engaged student is best. By making lessons engaging and interesting, students feel a connection to what they are learning and discovering. I believe that integrating faith and learning is important. By showing and discovering how they connect, students are able to use what they learn in the classroom in their own lives.”
Heather Deming joins our faculty as middle school English teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in history from Sam Houston State University. Most recently she taught at Deretchin Elementary here in The Woodlands. “I believe that as an educator, it is my responsibility to teach the whole student. Children need guidance to grow physically, emotionally and spiritually. Children should be taught to be successful citizens in their community while still holding on to their individual uniqueness.”
Heather Henley joins our lower school faculty as a member of the 2nd grade teaching team. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters of Business Administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. In addition, she also holds Elementary Education Certification also from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. She comes to Woodlands Christian from Giesinger Elementary in the Conroe ISD. “I chose to go into teaching to be a positive role model for the next generation. God has blessed me over and over working with young hearts. I am excited to be part of a community that encourages and puts Jesus at the forefront of every decision, goal, and planning.”

All School News New Faculty & Staff Spotlight -- continued
Danielle Greene will teach high school Latin. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in speech communications from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She has previous experience at St. Anthony of Padua and The Woodlands Preparatory School. “My approach as a teacher is to provide engaging high academic standards with relevance. My strength is my ability to assess each class and its individual students to determine the best approach for their learning; there are many layers of information a student needs to move forward successfully.”
Vanessa Krantzcke will join Woodlands Christian as library aide. She holds a degree in travel and tourism from Hornsby College TAFE (Sydney, Australia). Her previous experience includes being an executive travel associate for American Express in Sydney. “As a library aide, I see there are many ways to instill interest in students. Notably, the many books and the opportunities they provide to teach and encourage imagination and discussion.”
The Woodlands Christian Academy will be closed
August 7 & 8, 2014 for off campus professional development.
