WARRIORS in action Woodlands Christian students illustrate servant leadership throughout the year as evidence by these highlights: •Woodlands Christian partnered with Montgomery County CASA to host a record-breaking Superhero Fun Run through Jones State Park. •Lower school and upper school students collected 536 shoeboxes for “Operation Christmas Child”, a global outreach project of Samaritan’s Purse. •Our 3rd grade students and parents created a “Fall Jamboree” with crafts, games, and lunch for approximately 50 women and children at the Montgomery County Women’s Center. •Upper school students hosted Spring Fling for Magnolia ISD special needs students. The theme was Dr. Seuss and our students dressed up, played games and created crafts for the youth. •The National Junior Honor Society assisted Stonebridge Church in providing professional interview outfits and children’s clothing for area residents. •Woodlands Christian athletes on the football and cheer teams sported pink attire in support of breast cancer awareness month during the month of October.

Our high school boys particpated in a “No Shave November” for prostate cancer awareness. •Interact was hard at work this year; they raised $2,000 for breast cancer research at St. Luke’s Hospital through Warrior Pink Out and Make a Stand for Breast Cancer, collected more than 30 prom dresses for A Dress for Barbara, delivered gingerbread houses created in Mrs. Dew’s Life Skills class to residents of The Forum Senior Living Center, sponsored a child in Zambia through Family Legacy, hosted a movie night for lower school students for the Make a Wish Foundation, and assisted with local community events like the MADD walk, Serving Our Seniors, the Rotary Club Dinner honoring Congressman Kevin Brady, the CASA Fun Run, Interfaith’s Feast of Sharing, and the CrawPHish Festival. The club received a Presidential Citation for the fourth year in a row from Rotary International for their service.

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:3-8

ACADEMICALLY “This weekend I will be graduating from Baylor with an MBA. It is hard to believe that five years have passed since I graduated from TWCA! I know my mom has mentioned this to you, but I truly did not realize how well TWCA prepared me for college until I started in my courses at Baylor. I overheard classmates discussing how difficult the courses were, and yet for me I felt the opposite. Much of what was covered in my university courses had already been covered in my classes at the Christian Academy. For that, I thank you!” Insert of letter to Julie Ambler from Tanya (Bukowski) Couch, Class of 2010

Woodlands Christian honored 13 recipients of the President’s Education Awards Program (PEAP); a prestigious honor where students are recognized by the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education. Acknowledging students’ excellence and achievement since 1983, PEAP honors graduating elementary, middle and high school students for their achievement and hard work. The program was developed to help principals recognize and honor students who have achieved high academic goals through hard work and dedication to learning. Woodlands Christian students participated in The National Latin Exam (NLE). Formed in 1936, the National Junior Classical League (NJCL) is an organization of junior and senior high school students; composed of local and state/provincial chapters across the United States, Canada, and Australia, it is the largest Classical organization in the world today with over 50,000 members. ANNUAL FUND supporters Annual Fund 2014 - 2015 Total Dollars Raised - $398,453 Total School Participation - 99% Faculty & Staff Participation - 100% Governance Board Participation - 100%

The Annual Fund is critical to the financial foundation of Woodlands Christian. We finished the campaign with 100% of our Governance Board, 100% of our faculty and staff, and a recordbreaking 99% of our families contributing. We raised $398,453 which exceeded our operational goal. The excess funds were applied toward the construction of an eight-lane, 400 meter track.

WAYS TO GIVE WAYS TO GIVE Gifts of Cash Cash gifts are the simplest and easiest gifts you can make to Woodlands Christian. We accept personal checks, credit/debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express), cash, cashier’s checks, and money orders. Please make all checks and money orders payable to The Woodlands Christian Academy. All gifts should be mailed to: The Woodlands Christian Academy Attn: Director of Development 5800 Academy Way, The Woodlands, TX 77384 Gifts of Securities Woodlands Christian accepts donations of securities at any dollar value. Stock that has increased in value is one of the most popular assets used for charitable giving, once it has been held for a minimum of a year. Making a gift of securities to Woodlands Christian offers you the chance to help the school while realizing many important benefits yourself. It is important that you or your financial advisor contact the Development Office in advance of the gift to ensure proper documentation and receipting. Savings Bonds Savings bonds represent major assets that may have stopped growing and are now waiting to be put to use. As the stock market has fluctuated, bonds have grown popular because of their security and steady return. Redeeming bonds can complicate your tax situation. Giving savings bonds as a charitable gift in your will is a smart way to support Woodlands Christian and relieve a portion of the tax burden on your estate. Planned Giving Bequests are one of the most popular and simplest ways to make a gift. We hope you’ll tell us when you have named The Woodlands Christian Academy in your will. We would very much like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity. The official legal bequest language for The Woodlands Christian Academy is: “I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to The Woodlands Christian Academy in The Woodlands, Texas whose location on the date of the drafting of this will is 5800 Academy Way, The Woodlands, TX 77384, [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.” Retirement Plans If you are like many Americans, your financial future will likely revolve around your retirement plan assets. Once you’ve provided for your family, you have another option: a gift to The Woodlands Christian Academy. There’s no better testimonial to your heartfelt concern for our ongoing efforts to serve others. Gifts in Honor, Memoriam or Celebration A meaningful way to honor a special occasion or remember a loved one is to make a gift to Woodlands Christina in honor or memory of that person. Donors wishing to make a gift in memoriam may make a gift of any amount. Matching Gifts If your employer offers a matching gift program you may be able to double or even triple your donation to Woodlands Christian! Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to eligible charitable organizations. Please contact your employer’s personnel office for eligibility requirements and to obtain a matching gift form. Next, complete the form and provide it to the Woodlands Christian Development Office with your contribution. We are happy to coordinate the remaining steps with your employer. Gifts in Kind Woodlands Christian accepts donations of equipment, materials and supplies that provide relief to the operating budget or align with our current priorities. Please contact the Development Office in advance of these gifts. Real Estate Under certain circumstances gifts of real estate may be accepted.
