Meet the New Members Hosted by New Danville at the Black Walnut Café
In May, we had the pleasure of having New Danville host us at the Black Walnut Café where members had the opportunity to build relationships with other members while learning more about the newest members that joined The Chamber.

Founded in 2005, New Danville is a rural nonprofit for special needs adults and those who need similar services. Located on 42 acres in Willis, they have day programs (Individualized Skills and Socialization) and an independent living community that is home to 34 clients with a waiting list of 37; they have about 115 in the day program. New Danville has come a long way since opening in October 2007 when they started with a handful of clients and no completed structures. Their 20th anniversary is on the horizon; they call it Vision 2025 (NewDanville. org/Vision2025).
Their focus is to support their clients as they live, learn, work and grow on the path to fulfilling their potential, strengthening independence, enjoying socialization, and gaining self-confidence. Clients, known as Wranglers, participate in a variety of classes—from art to animal therapy, baking to fishing, computer skills to woodshop, and much more—as well as enjoy field trips into the community. Individual volunteers and teams from area companies provide much-appreciated support.
Many clients work in the community or on-site in a variety of roles, including production of bath and beauty products, available on our online store. You can support New Danville by participating in our special events—Spring Thing and Play a Round for the Wranglers, coming in November—or shopping at Jazzy Junque, our upscale, home décor resale store in Conroe.
