A Message from J.J. Hollie

Shop, eat and give back this holiday season with help from The Woodlands Area Chamber.

shop

At The Chamber, we believe making the holidays merry and bright is in part about supporting local businesses and giving unique gifts that value the community. From secret Santas to significant others, our member companies have your shopping list covered with great products, services, gift cards and more. Visit WoodlandsChamber.org/list and search keywords like “gifts,” “spa” or “jewelry” and you’ll be well on your way to checking off your shopping list while supporting the local retailers that make our community strong.

eat

The Woodlands area offers a multitude of restaurants and fine dining options, but it can be hard to give them all a chance when you’ve already picked your favorites. If you’re ready to try something different in 2019, then you don’t want to miss the 33rd annual Taste of the Town on January 17 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. This event is a longstanding community favorite and features more than 30 restaurants, bakeries, breweries, caterers and more, all offering unlimited samples from their menu to compete in the Best of Taste Competition. Learn more about this year’s participating vendors on page 10 and purchase tickets at TasteOfTheTown.org. 2 woodlandschamber.org DECEMBER 2018

give

Creating an emphasis on supporting charitable causes is not traditionally a core function for a chamber of commerce. However, given the generosity of spirit that is woven into our community culture, we believe it to be integral to our success as The Woodlands Area Chamber. This holiday season and throughout the year, I encourage you to get involved with The Chamber’s Community Relations Team. CRT is open to all members and is tasked with new projects every month that allow businesses, their employees, and individuals to help make a difference in the community. Projects range from volunteering to soliciting donations and raising awareness. More information on monthly CRT projects can be found at WoodlandsChamber.org/CRT. On behalf of The Woodlands Area Chamber Board of Directors and staff, I wish you and your families a happy holiday season and a new year full of joy and prosperity. I want to thank all of our members for making 2018 a successful and memorable year, and I am thrilled about working with you in 2019 to make The Woodlands area an even greater place for business.

J.J. Hollie President & CEO

SPINAL CARE CHIROPRACTIC CENTER

Contact: Londa Spurlock 31315 FM 2978, Suite 300 Magnolia, TX 77354 (832) 784-7955 boogiebeez.com

Spinal Care Chiropractic Center sponsored The Chamber’s Networking Breakfast Spotlight Table to bring awareness to the benefits of Chiropractic care and complementary alternative medicine. October is National Chiropractic Health Month, with this year’s theme of Get Moving, with the goal of educating people on the importance of staying healthy with movement and exercise, as well as assisting with the prevention of back pain. Spinal Care Chiropractic Center opened its doors in The Woodlands by Drs. Dawn Schwab and Lisa Rister with the goal of providing quality health care to the community, including chiropractic and complementary health services such as acupuncture and massage therapy. With our relocation to the Pinecroft Medical Center in 2007, the practice expanded to add chiropractors and include a unique Pilates exercise rehab program. Spinal Care provides complementary medical services by working closely with specialists such as neurosurgeons, neurologists, pain management specialists, rheumatologists and orthopedic surgeons to identify the cause of a patient’s health issues. By co-managing these patients, individualized treatment plans can be developed to care for a variety of conditions including headaches, neck and back pain, fibromyalgia and arthritis, as well as many different types of injuries. Spinal Care Chiropractic Center joined The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce in December 1999 and will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. We feel our membership and participation has greatly contributed to the practice’s growth and success. By consistently volunteering for and sponsoring Chamber events such as the monthly Networking Breakfast, Chairman’s Ball, CrawPHish Festival, and the Volunteer Appreciation luncheon, our doctors and staff continue to develop relationships with other chamber members, utilizing the services of many Chamber businesses over the years. It’s those relationships, that have become friendships, that we value the most and why we will continue to partner with The Woodlands Area Chamber for many years to come. We are located at 9303 Pinecroft Drive, Suite 200 in The Woodlands. Please visit our website at SpinalCareChiropractic.com or call us at (281) 292-6644 to learn more about our doctors and our practice. 26 woodlandschamber.org DECEMBER 2018
