A MESSAGE FROM AARON COX

Happy New Year!

Are you ready to make history?

In 2024 we paused as a community to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Woodlands and how what was once a vision has become a model for the nation. The Woodlands Area was a business decision, an idea born in the mind of a leader, who gathered the necessary resources and executed a plan. There was risk, there was reward, there were ups and downs, but the result is this amazing community where we are privileged to live, work, pray, and play and we, as your chamber of commerce, get to serve. From its inception business has been at the center of the vision, leadership, character and success of The Woodlands Area.

2025 provides us the unique opportunity to write Chapter 51 and begin creating the history and legacy of the next 50 years of The Woodlands Area. In short, WE ARE MAKING HISTORY! Are you ready? Is your business ready?

Your chamber of commerce is ready. To begin the year, we will be engaged on the policy and advocacy front ensuring

your interests are represented. We invite you to join us for Montgomery County Day at the Capitol when we travel to Austin with our chamber partners from around the county to share priorities for our region. We will continue to elevate the services and resources the Chamber provides to our partners with events like the Economic Outlook Conference in February and opportunities for exposure and business growth like Taste of the Town later this month. We will be a go to for tools, education and information to help your business thrive. Throughout the year we will continue to engage in critical conversations and take the actions necessary to help us navigate the changing landscape and position your Chamber and your business for success.

In 2025 one thing remains true, YOU our valued partners throughout The Woodlands and South Montgomery County Area remain at the center of everything we do. We are committed to your success and look forward to serving in the coming year.

In short, Let’s Go Make History!

PROFILE OF SUCCESS

Dailey Company: A Community-Centric Leader in HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing

From its founding in 2003, the Dailey Company, Inc. has been more than just a business; it’s a testament to the values instilled in its founder, Chris Dailey. Growing up, Chris worked alongside his father, absorbing lessons in hard work, dedication, and persistence from an early age. His youth was marked by countless odd jobs, each one a stepping stone that taught him the profound value of trustworthy, dedicated service. Today, these heartfelt lessons form the bedrock of the Dailey Company, Inc., driving a commitment to care for customers that reflects the deep-rooted values that shaped its founder.

Building on the principles he learned during his youth, Chris took his expertise to the next level. After earning a degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and working his way up to Master Electrician, Chris recognized a pressing need for skilled electrical services in the area and founded Dailey Electrical, Inc. As the company thrived, it expanded its offerings to include residential and commercial air conditioning, heating, and plumbing by 2019. Now known simply as Dailey Company, Inc., the business has grown to serve Houston, College Station, Austin, and surrounding areas employing over 200 professionals statewide.

Despite their expansive reach and ongoing growth and evolution, the Dailey Company, Inc. remains family-owned and operated. This enduring trait has profoundly shaped the company culture and operational ethos driving the company’s motto of friendly, fair, and quality commercial and residential service. All principles which are upheld by the entire team at Dailey Company, Inc.

Beyond a commitment to providing top-quality craftsmanship, Dailey Company, Inc. is dedicated to giving back to the community it serves.

With ongoing partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, and numerous independent school districts, Dailey understands the importance of supporting the people of South-Central Texas. As Chris Dailey puts it, “The most rewarding part of our jobs is giving back to so many great causes in the communities where we live and serve.”

Now, in its 21st year of business, Dailey Company Inc. isn’t slowing down and continues to serve out its mission which is, “To be committed to supporting our community and fostering a dynamic workplace where our team excels. To strive to make a meaningful impact on our clients by offering innovative, efficient, and reliable solutions.”

Education for Tomorrow Alliance & Conroe ISD Celebrate 35

Years of Expanding Horizons

This month, Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) is proud to partner with Conroe ISD and private schools to celebrate 35 years of fostering STEM exploration. SCI://TECH 2025, themed Expanding Horizons for 35 Years, will engage nearly 4,000 students in hands-on learning over multiple weekends kicking off with the Fidium Fiber BLOCX Competition (robotics) on January 11.

Founded during the 1989-90 school year, SCI://TECH began with just 100 science fair projects in the McCullough High School gym. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive STEM program offering 13 STEM activities over several weekends, reaching approximately 4,000 students annually.

EfTA President Monica Bomkamp Enia commented, “EfTA started with the business community coming together to support students, and this milestone

EDUCATION FOR TOMORROW ALLIANCE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating education and community partnerships that advance student success. For more information, please visit efta-us.org.

anniversary underscores the incredible impact of community involvement. The Woodlands Chamber has been a partner from the beginning, helping connect business with education initiatives in our area.”

Key highlights of SCI://TECH include the Chevron Phillips Chemical Senior High Science Fair and the Entergy Junior High Science Fair on January 23 with a combined 1,000 student competitors. Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of these events as judges, providing invaluable feedback to participants.

Another highlight is SCI://TECH Expo Day, set for February 8 at College Park High School. A standout attraction is the Huntsman Elementary Science Festival, where K-4th grade students can engage in interactive science experiments that ignite curiosity and creativity. The festival is free and open to the public, running from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A full list of SCI://TECH activities and volunteer opportunities can be found at efta-us.org/ scitech.

InNovember, we ventured over to the Angel Oaks Event Center home of Special Angels of The Woodlands where they cohosted the Chamber’s Meet the New Members alongside Ashley Reina with Blue Skies Bookkeeping.

The vision of Special Angels of The Woodlands (SAW) is to integrate adults with intellectual disabilities into the larger community. They strive to encourage self-reliance, social skill development and community involvement for each of their Special Angels.

SAW Day Program operates an Activity Center Monday – Friday for adults with special needs. They plan fun activities for their clients both at the Center and out in the community. Their outings consist of birthday luncheons, trips to the library and the park, shopping, bowling, gardening, volunteering and going to the movies. At the Center they enjoy planning parties and making crafts, packing care packages for soldiers overseas,

dancing, socializing with friends with friends and more. Special Angels is a place where their clients feel at home.

The services they offer are important to both their clients and their families who benefit from respite time while their loved one is in caring and capable hands.

Blue Skies Bookkeeping is a local firm specializing in helping small businesses and non-profits achieve their goals. Their philosophy, “You will get all that you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” ~Zig Ziglar”

Aubrey Spear, General Manager of SJRA, and Erich Peterson, General Manager of Woodlands Water, provided a joint presentation to the Business Advocacy Council regarding a new initiative called Water Renewal The Woodlands.

To ensure continued efficient and reliable service, the Woodlands Water Agency (Woodlands Water), the 10 municipal utility districts (MUDs) within The Woodlands and the San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA), are collectively developing this long-term modernization and rehabilitation effort (Renewal Plan).

A key part of this initiative is providing customers with information, transparency, and opportunities for engagement.
