August, Blueprint Advisors was thrilled to open their doors and welcome clients, friends, fellow Chamber members, and members of our community for an unforgettable Business After Hours celebration.

Guests enjoyed great conversations, refreshments, and the opportunity to connect as they officially introduced the next chapter of their firm. Formerly known as L&Y Tax Advisors, their transition to Blueprint Advisors reflects the evolution of who they are and how they serve their clients. They believe in walking alongside business owners as trusted advisors, helping them make strategic decisions and build businesses designed for long-term success. And while tax and accounting will
planning, fractional CFO services, KPI tracking, and financial analysis, their approach is customized because they know that no two businesses—and no two business owners—are exactly alike. The name “Blueprint” represents their belief that every successful business begins with a vision and a plan. They are passionate about helping their clients develop both, while providing the guidance and support they need along the way. CREW | Service Project at Food Bank
M
embers of the Chamber’s CREW young professionals group recently traded the office for an afternoon of service at the Montgomery County Food Bank, coming together to support an organization making an important impact throughout our community. During the service project, our young professionals packed 2,025 bags and 134 boxes of food—2,700 pounds in all, enough to provide 2,250 meals for our neighbors in need. Community involvement is an important part of CREW (Connecting Rising Executives of The Woodlands). In addition to networking and professional development, CREW creates opportunities for young professionals to get involved, build meaningful relationships and give back to the community where they live and work. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the Montgomery County Food Bank for welcoming our group and giving CREW another great opportunity to serve together.
Charting the Course for Community Impact | C.A.R.E.S. Unveils Its Year of Service
W
hen the C.A.R.E.S. Committee gathered in August for its annual Strategic Planning meeting, the task at hand was both inspiring and formidable. Tasked with reviewing a wave of service applications submitted by our dedicated nonprofit members, the committee faced the challenge of translating community needs into an actionable blueprint for the upcoming fiscal year. After careful evaluation and thoughtful deliberation, the committee emerged with a robust, year-long slate of projects designed to maximize local impact, month by month. C.A.R.E.S. stands for Community Active Responding by Engaging in Service, and the newly finalized calendar embodies that mission entirely. Balancing hands-on volunteerism with targeted donation drives, the committee has mapped out a diverse journey of community engagement that stretches from this autumn into next summer.
The journey begins immediately, kicking off a dynamic 12-month calendar: •September | Children’s Books on Wheels: Launching the year with the Shoes for Scholars Donation Drive to support local students. •October | Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion: Rolling up sleeves on October 20 to volunteer for Fine Arts Education Day at the Pavilion. •November | All Ears! Center: Hosting a Book Drive focusing on children aged 12 and under. •December | Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission: Spreading seasonal cheer by volunteering at the Holiday at the Park event on December 19. •January | Yes to Youth: Ringing in the New Year with a Snack Donation Drive to support shelter and counseling clients. •February | Tri-County’s Behavioral Healthcare: Hitting the pavement on February 13 to volunteer for the Consumer Foundation’s Meaningful Miles 5K Run/Walk. •March | Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary: Bringing smiles to the families of veterans and first responders by volunteering for their annual Easter Celebration. •April | Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon: Pausing on April 22 to celebrate the heartbeat of our organization—our nonprofit organizations. •May | Community Assistance Center: Kicking off the Breakfast Club Donation Drive to combat food insecurity. •June | Hands of Justice: Rallying the community for a critical Hygiene Kit Drive. •July | Heart and Hammer TX: Closing out the drive calendar with a Gift Card Donation Drive. This purposeful circle of service will come to a thoughtful close next August when the committee reconvenes for its next Strategic Planning Meeting to reflect on a year of impact and chart the course for the future. The work, however, never truly stops. By engaging in service together, we prove that intentional planning paves the way for a stronger, more connected community all year long. If you have a desire to serve others through community service, we invite you to join us for the next C.A.R.E.S. Committee. This committee is open to all Chamber members. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at The Chamber.

Diplomat of the Month: A Masterclass in Commitment: Celebrating Bill Warner In any thriving business community, success isn’t just built on transactions, it is built on connections. It relies on dedicated individuals who step up to bridge gaps, open doors, and build pathways for others. Over the past fiscal year, Bill Warner has proven to be the personification of this communal spirit. We are incredibly proud to announce Bill Warner as the Chamber of Commerce Diplomat of the Month for August 2026. While earning this title once is a commendable achievement, Bill has managed a feat that truly sets a new standard for leadership. Over the last 12 months, Bill has been named Diplomat of the Month an astonishing 7 out of 12 times. This remarkable consistency highlights a profound, unwavering commitment to our local business community. Throughout the past fiscal year, Bill has shown us what true dedication looks like. Legacy
Leaving a Lasting Chamber
F
Cyndi Alvarado, Vice President of Member Engagement, Retires After 16 Years of Service or 16 years, Cyndi Alvarado has been a familiar face at The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. She has championed local nonprofits, welcomed members, connected businesses and created new programs at the Chamber. Now, Alvarado is retiring. And while she has plans for post-Chamber life, leaving isn’t easy. “I think the hardest part is going to be leaving the people,” she says. “Especially the staff. They become like family after a while.” That family feeling is what has kept her at the Chamber as long as she has. “I probably have thought about it for the past five years, but just kept pushing it back… And back… and back,” she says. Over the past 16 years, Cyndi has given so much of herself to The Woodlands Area Chamber, our members, and the businesses that make this community special. For a short portion of that, I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the relationships she has built, the people she has encouraged, and the genuine care she brings to serving others. What makes Cyndi’s career especially meaningful is that her commitment to service extends far beyond her time at the Chamber. Throughout her career, across different organizations and sectors, she has remained dedicated to the community she loves and the place where she grew up. That connection has always been personal for her, and I believe our members have felt that in the way she has cared for them and championed their success. Sixteen years of service leaves an incredible legacy. While we will certainly miss her presence, her knowledge, and the relationships she has built, I am personally grateful for everything Cyndi has contributed to our Chamber and for the impact she has made on The Woodlands Area. She leaves this organization, and this community, better because she was part of it. Aaron Cox
A career change started this chapter Before coming aboard at the Chamber, Alvarado worked for a multi-specialty medical clinic in Montgomery County for eight years. While her title was “Marketing Manager,” it didn’t tell the whole story. “I did marketing, physician recruitment, community relations; you name it, I did it,” Alvarado says. At the time, the clinic had 119 physicians and Alvarado served as their liaison to the Woodlands Chamber of Commerce. After our founding physician passed, there was also a shift at the helm of the management company overseeing the clinic operations. We suffered the departure of many of the physicians. Having grown up in the community and with many of these physicians, Alvarado realized it was also time for a change for her as well. An open position at the Chamber was her next step. “I had already been involved in the Chamber world,” Alvarado said. “It just seemed like an easy transition. I knew a lot of people in the community already, and I was already serving on teams here, so that was a good segue in.” 12
Leaving her mark on the Chamber
Alvarado had already found one of the Chamber’s most important aspects before becoming an employee—its connection to the nonprofit community here in The Woodlands. In her 16 years, Alvarado has worked with three Chamber presidents, each with their own leadership style. All had different ideas, but each pushed Alvarado to take a hard look at programming that the Chamber offered. For example— what was formerly the Small Business University was no longer effective programming. So she, along with two others, developed the idea for The Woodlands Area Business Summit, using the strengths of the local community business leaders. They pitched the idea to Chamber leadership. “[They] kind of looked at us like we were crazy,” Alvarado recalled. They persisted. When a different event was discontinued, Alvarado and her colleagues were given an opportunity to prove their idea could work. The catch? They had 90 days to execute their plan. The first Business Summit was held at Lone Star’s Community Building, and drew in 286 people. Now, the annual Business Summit has become a highlight on the Chamber’s annual calendar.
The people are the hardest part to leave These kinds of accomplishments are part of Alvarado’s legacy, but not what she will remember most. It’s the people and relationships. “I wouldn’t have been here this long if I didn’t believe in the organization and the things they do,” Alvarado says. And while she may be leaving the Chamber, she isn’t exactly stepping away from community involvement.
Still finding ways to serve Alvarado is finally allowing herself to consider what life looks like without the Chamber calendar dictating her days. But don’t expect her to stop being involved. This year, Alvarado joined the Junior League of The Woodlands, a group with a long legacy of local service. “Knowing that Junior League does a lot of the same stuff puts me right where I want to be,” she says. “It’s right up my alley for things that I’ve been passionate about.” Her other passion includes her work with the Executive Women’s Alliance. She joined the group in 2018 when a friend repeatedly encouraged her to attend. “Every breakfast they had, I had to hear about,” Alvarado said. “And finally I said ‘I’m going to go because you’ve been talking about it forever.” She quickly found a group of women who shared her interest in service. She joined the board, taking on significant responsibilities before becoming president-elect. Her work with the organization gave her another opportunity to push for something she believed was important—expanding its mentorship program into South County. During her term as President, EWA’s Women of Vision program expanded to include Oak Ridge High School. For Alvarado, that’s just another example of her philosophy: if something isn’t working, figure out how to make it better. After 16 years, the Chamber isn’t just a workplace, but a community of people she helped to build, and one that shaped her right back.
