Gov. Abbott has appointed Nelda Blair to the Public Safety Commission for terms set to expire Jan. 1, 2026. The commission oversees the Texas Department of Public Safety, which enforces laws protecting the public safety and provides for the prevention and detection of crime.

VGXI, Inc. announced the successful implementation of new RNA production services through completion of all Phase II initiatives as part of a license agreement with the Houston Methodist Research Institute. VGXI has established pilot mRNA manufacturing capabilities in a purpose built GMP production suite at its facility in The Woodlands. Launch of clinical grade mRNA manufacturing is anticipated in 2020.
