CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMME Spring Term 2 : 2024

Welcome to our co-curricular brochure for the second half of the Spring Term. This brochure will give you details about the different co-curricular clubs that will be on offer, starting from the first day back after the February half term holiday.

Our co-curricular programme offers our pupils not only safe and quality wrap-around care, but the opportunity to develop skills and learn new things outside of their lessons. This year we are making a change in the way we view our clubs, with each one focusing on one of our Grovian Values. Our clubs are provided by school staff and by external providers (*please remember that external providers offer their clubs at an additional charge).

Additionally, this year, we have launched a Grovian Passport to help celebrate the huge range of clubs that our pupils get involved in. When pupils go to their club, they can take their passport with them for it to be ‘signed’, recognising their work towards that Grovian Value. When they have completed their passport, they will receive special recognition for their hard work.

Hama Beads

ER Come along to today’s Enterprising & Resourceful club. With Hama Beads, you can have colourful and creative fun whilst challenging your fine motor skills using beads and patterns.

Dance*

Today's Committed & Resilient club is Dance. This is one of our external clubs offered by Nancy Lucas. Pupils will engage in dance activities and develop their skills. *charge of £7 per session 6 sessions = £42.00 for this half term.

Dough Disco

ER Come along to today's Enterprising & Resourceful club. In Dough Disco club, the children will join in with a fun, engaging activity. They will learn how to manipulate play dough whilst strengthening the muscles in their hands and developing fine motor control.

Yoga*

Come along to today's Kind & Generous club . Yoga is one of our external clubs, offered by Nancy Lucas. Pupils will engage in yoga activities and develop their skills and strength. *charge of £7 per session 6 sessions = £42.00 for this half term.

Wednesday Nursery & Reception

Smarty Pants Spanish*

Join us for Wednesday’s Inquisitive & Curious club. One of our external clubs, offered by Cath Rose Smarty Pants Spanish, pupils will learn Spanish in a fun and interactive way. *charge of £7 per session 5 sessions = £35.00 for this half term.

Mindfulness

Come along to today's Honourable & Respectful club. In mindfulness club, the children will join in with weekly mindfulness activities, including calm breathing exercises and mindfulness colouring. This is a calm club that allows children to enjoy quiet time at the end of the day.

Let’s Move

KG Come along to today's Kind & Generous club. Let’s move club will get you up and dancing around, burning lots of energy with your friends.

Mini Ninjas*

Come along to today’s Honourable & Respectful club. Mini Ninjas is one of our external clubs, offered by Mohammed Shaban. Pupils will have an introduction to the skills, discipline and focus of a martial art. *charge of £7.50 per session

5 sessions = £37.50 for this half term.

Word Games

Y1 & Y2

IC Come along to today’s Inquisitive & Curious club. In Word Games club, children will have fun whilst solving puzzles and competing with each other to show off and improve their impressive knowledge of words.

Spring and Easter Crafts

Come along to today's Enterprising & Resourceful club. Following the popularity of our winter craft clubs, we are continuing the creativity into the new term! NB: This club is the same as the Wednesday club of the same name so please don’t sign up for both.

Come along to today’s Enterprising & Resourceful club. For the first time, our Key Stage 1 children will get the chance to join our Brontë Knitwits. They will be introduced to the world of knitting through French Knitting, a simpler technique with impressive results.

Yoga*

Tuesday is also our fixture day for Y3 & Y4 and pupils are often Home and Away, representing our school with their talents in a range of sporting events.

KG Come along to today's Kind & Generous club. The famous Brontë Knitwits is a place where you can learn a new skill and create some amazing products along the way. Come and learn to knit with Mrs O’Grady!

Come along to today’s Honourable & Respectful club. This term, the boys in Year 3 and Year 4 are invited to come and practise their skills and gain experience playing in matches ahead of that all important fixture.

IC Today's Inquisitive & Curious club is Digital Artist. Become a digital artist and learn how to use a range of technology and software to create your own masterpieces, inspired by the work of some famous artists.

Puppet Pals

Come along and join today’s Enterprising & Resourceful club. Get your creative juices flowing with this fun app. Make your cartoons, stories and animations come to life by recording your own storytelling scenes and develop fun voice-acting skills along the way.

KG Come along to today’s Kind & Generous club. Build up your times table skills and speed whilst battling against others and earning valuable coins to spend on your rock avatar!

Swim Development

Come along to join today’s Committed & Resilient club. Pupils can gain extra swimming practice to improve their skills. You can join this club if you are able to swim a width of the pool. Please do not sign up if you have been invited to join Swim Squad.

Come along to today's Inquisitive & Curious club. Our new Outdoor Adventures club will ignite your sense of adventure to enjoy time outdoors.

Fashionistas

Today’s Enterprising & Resourceful club is a new creative design option. Become a fashionista by designing colourful outfits and bringing them to life using your creativity and imagination.

KG Today’s Kind & Generous club is our Model Railway. This club is for those who are interested in the railway and interacting with a model village like no other in our unique Railway Room.

Today’s Kind & Generous club is all about gaming! Learn how to play a variety of games, including those traditional which require minimum equipment, like charades and cards. We will also play a few board games which can be played in small teams, like Pictionary.

HR Come and join the team for today’s Honourable & Respectful club. Rugby is one of our school’s core sports. At this club, you can hone your skills on the field and develop your teamwork.

Come along to today's Enterprising & Resourceful club. Maths Gamers unite to pit your knowledge and skills against yourself and against others in a variety of maths-themed games, include those played online!

CR Today's Committed & Resilient club is our reestablished school orchestra. This club is for our instrumentalists in school and includes a mixture of pupils from across KS2. If you’re invited to join, this is the ideal place to put your musicianship into practice and show off our school talents—what an honour!
