Y13 Biology Field Trip
Our Year 13 biologists completed 3 days of fieldwork in North Yorkshire. They carried out kick sampling in a stream, systematic sampling on a rocky shire at Filey and random sampling on a chalkland nature reserve.

They caught voles, moths and insects and observed the biggest mainland seabird colony at RSPB Bempton. They used a range of specialist equipment to measure the abiotic factors in ecosystems and considered the impact of human activities on ecosystems. Aside from curriculum, one student said she really enjoyed spending time with students that she did not know so well. A busy and successful Grovian trip!

New Wildflower Patch
The grounds team did an amazing job of preparing the selected area by cutting the grass right down to the soil. The FOWG kindly gave us the funds to purchase the wildflower seed and the Eco Committee sewed and raked in the wildflower seeds. Hopefully, next spring/summer there will be a beautiful burst of colour on this roadside verge for everyone to enjoy, especially the bees!

There is plenty of opportunity for pupils to get involved with performing arts at the Grove. Click here to view our performing arts calendar which include the Year 7 and 8 Spotlight show (tickets now on sale) and the senior production Remember Me.
