Fond Farewells Today, we say goodbye to some members of our much-loved staff team. Mr Graham, Mrs Downs, Mrs Metcalf and Mrs Hinchliffe: we are really going to miss you! With over 65 years' service between them, we are so incredibly grateful for their commitment to our school; and we send them our very best wishes as they move on to their next exciting chapter.

Well done to all of our performers at the Piano and Recorder concert. We enjoyed some fantastic performances; some very impressive instrumentalists in our school!
Pink Marathon Fundraiser We have now exceeded our fundraising target for Candlelighters and have raised £5,096. Thanks to everyone for their support so far. We wish Ms Willis and her Ashdown Lodge colleagues the best of luck as they are raising further funds for Candlelighters by taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in September.
Party Time Nursery finished the year off with a disco and party! Barnaby came in to join in the fun and to be the special guest judge for musical bumps.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic Reception had great fun at their teddy bears picnic, followed by a disco as a celebration for the end of term.
Mrs Dooling brought in her albino African land snail this week. Delilah was really active and the children were fascinated by her slithering up the side of her tank.
Staff were delighted how well the children all settled into their new classes on transition day.
Andy Goldsworthy is an artist who likes to use natural materials to build sculptures and to create land art. Year 1 worked in groups to make their own masterpieces and placed leaves and pine cones in circles and spirals to reflect Andy's art work.
Year 2 have been very busy creating their habitats for their reptile models. They thought carefully about the material they needed to use to make the different features. We think they look amazing!
For their art topic, Year 2 have been studying the artist William Morris and have been creating their own repeating patterns using 2Paint a Picture on the IPads.
Year 3 enjoyed their Celebration Day in school. We celebrated new found talents and achievements and progress this year. A fun swim at WGS was enjoyed by all as were the ice lollies! Congratulations on a fantastic year, Year 3!
After learning about the culture of the Masai Mara tribe, Year 2 created colourful, African necklaces decorated with detailed patterns. Ajabe! (Wonderful in Swahili).

Year 2 have had a wonderful day at Yorkshire Year 4 had a fantastic time underground on Wildlife Park as part of their end of year their visit to Stump Cross Caves this week! celebrations. They learnt about habitats and spotted all the different animals around the park. They also enjoyed a workshop with live animals and played on the adventure playground. Blooming Brontë Garden
Look at the fantastic dolphins made by the dedicated team in Brontë Knitwits. They Our beautiful garden is in full bloom, thanks have all shown real dedication to this club to Mr Lambert and his team of willing volunteers. This week, we have been selling throughout the year. freshly dug new potatoes. All donations going to our charity, Candlelighters.
