British Science Week Competitions reminder– There is an optional poster competition for Reception to Year 3 centred around this year’s theme of ‘time’. Various activities have been set as part of science homework for Years 4 to 6.

Ashdown had a special visit last week from ‘Shake, Under the watchful eye of the catering team, Rattle and Boogie’ in celebration of World Book Reception made their own pizzas today, before Week! As part of science week Year 2 took part in a Year 4 had a fantastic day at the Royal Armouries on ScienceLIVE! Session along with other schools from Friday! Year 6 children have enjoyed a super afternoon at ...topic. We learned all about DNA and genetics in Headingley Stadium, supporting Leeds Rhinos in healthcare. It was fascinating to see how DNA can be their 18-10 victory over Catalans Dragons

Science Week begun at Bronte House, with Year 6 being the first to experience the VR headsets! The children were taken through various different landscapes and habitats such as the jungle and the desert. They also got to meet some wildlife including lions and dolphins!

Our latest young trainee Knitwits learning how to French knit using knitting Nancy's to introduce them to the wonders of yarn. Some are making bracelets and even coasters with theirs.

On Wednesday afternoon, as part of their Science Week activities, Year 6 took part in a Time themed Delicious thumb print buns for our bakers this week! lesson at the Grove. After listening to the input from Mr Norris, they completed a variety of

activities in response to the question - Can you react quicker than a tiger? It is fair to say that we apparently have some very speedy response times in Year 6!

Last week

was the annual Leeds’ Cross Country

event. Despite the awful weather, our runners put in another splendid performance, securing 2nd, 4th and 6th place in Under 11 boys and 2nd place Under 11 girls. A true test of grit and resilience in some

very challenging conditions; well done to everyone.
