Year 2 enjoyed their trip to meet Florence Nightingale at the Thackray Medical Museum.

They helped her to clean Scutari hospital and treat the wounded soldiers. Florence was very impressed with the children's knowledge about her life!

Year 5 spent time investigating the 'apparent disappearance' of certain substances when placed in water!

This week Year 5 tested which materials were the best insulators using ice cubes. They weighed the ice cube at the beginning, wrapped up the cubes up in 4 different materials and left them on the radiator for 30 minutes. They then weighed the cubes at the end to see which material worked the best as an insulator.

In their humanities lessons, Year 6 have been investigating earthquakes and learning about why they occur. This week, the children became engineers and attempted to design 'earthquake friendly' structures. They were very successful!

The Grove will be hosting the fifth Leeds Schools Athletics Association race of the 2023/24 season. It take place tomorrow on Saturday 2nd March, in the afternoon (the course opens at 12:30, for a 13:00 start for U9s and U11s.

The cabin will be open for all!
