Knowing the sense of purpose at WIS, there is confidence the school will continue to set itself ambitious goals

It has been a privilege to serve on the Woodford Board since the 2025 Annual General Meeting. Over the past year, the Board has focused on ensuring that Woodford continues to provide an environment where every student can thrive: academically, creatively and personally.
One of the most visible changes on campus has been the investment in new infrastructure. The construction of a new music room and art room will give our students inspiring places to explore creativity, collaboration and expression - and the ability to make a lot of noise in music class without disrupting other classes! At the same time, improvements such as new dedicated toilet facilities for our WISE students reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every child at Woodford feels safe, even our littlest students.
Behind the scenes, the Board, guided by the finance, infrastructure and academic excellence subcommittees, has carefully invested a large portion of the school’s surplus to strengthen not only our facilities but also our academic program. Alongside the campus improvements, we have sharpened our focus on academic excellence through strategic staff appointments, the introduction of MAP testing to better track student progress, the adoption and roll out of a new policy and resources to support students with special educational needs, and investments in new classroom learning resources to support our teachers in delivering high-quality lessons.
These steps are already helping to create stronger learning experiences for our students and to create a supportive environment for the dedicated teachers who work with them every day.
2025 marked an important year for Woodford, but it is only the beginning of our sharpened focus on academic excellence. The Board remains committed to ensuring that Woodford continues to grow as a school where our students are supported to learn, explore and reach their full potential.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mr Dan Corrigan for his ongoing leadership at Woodford, his Senior Leadership Team of outstanding educators and all the teachers and staff at Woodford who dedicate their days to creating this vibrant, multicultural international school and community.

A year that included a greater connection amongst our community, international recognition, and progress in a variety of strategic areas

As we reflect on the 2025 academic year, I continue to be honoured for the remarkable progress our community continues to make together. This year was marked by meaningful progress, thoughtful investment, and a continued commitment to strengthening the educational experience at WIS. Our community has worked with focus and purpose to advance the priorities outlined in our strategic intentions, and I am proud of what we have achieved together.
This year saw significant improvements to our learning environments across campus. New classroom furniture was introduced across all classrooms, creating more flexible, student-centered environments that better support collaboration, engagement, and active learning - making a visible difference in the way our classrooms function and feel.
We also expanded access to technology with the addition of 50 new laptops for student use. These devices continue to put us on the path to soon be a one-to-one institution; strengthening our ability to integrate digital tools into teaching and learning, ensuring that students have the resources they need to research, collaborate, create, and develop the digital competencies that are essential for their futures.
Supporting student wellbeing and strengthening our capacity as a school community were also key priorities this year. We were pleased to introduce new strategic positions, including the addition of a school counselor, which continues to enhance the support systems available to our students and families. This role represents an important step forward in our commitment to nurturing the whole child.
An additional focus of our work in the past year was strengthening vertical alignment across our curriculum. Through collaborative planning and curriculum review, our teachers worked across year levels to ensure that learning experiences build intentionally. This work continues to support students and teachers deepen the coherence of our programs from the early years through secondary school. This was coupled with an increase in budgetary allocations for professional development for staff to

deepen their expertise in curriculum alignment, pedagogical approaches, and encourage continual grow in bettering practices brought into the learning environment.
These initiatives have contributed to strong progress on our strategic priorities, and we are seeing encouraging results as our long-term plans continue to take shape. None of this progress would be possible without the support of our broader community. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our parents and families for the trust they place in the school, and for their continued partnership in their children’s learning. I also want to acknowledge the School Board, whose encouragement and engagement as volunteers strengthen the environment in which our students learn and grow - fostering a healthy place for discussions and opinions to take place amongst friends for the betterment of the school.
Most importantly, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to our teachers and staff. Their commitment, creativity, and care for our students are the heart of WIS - creating a nurturing and caring environment that is second to none. Every initiative, improvement, and success from this past year reflects their hard work and dedication.
As we look ahead, we do so with appreciation for what we have accomplished together, and with excitement for the progress yet to come.
