BY DONNA AARONS FORE-TEE NINERS 2024 CAPTAIN
It’s hard to believe July is already behind us! The Fore Tee Niners have been making the most of this gorgeous summer weather with plenty of time on the course.
On July 3rd, the group enjoyed a scramble format, with the winning team of Shannon Hagen, Barb Parejo, Rhonda Craig, and Donna Aarons taking home the top prize.
String Theory on July 10th was a big hit, as always—after all, who doesn’t appreciate a little help getting out of trouble on the course? Kathy Cockayne claimed first place, with Rhonda Craig and Donna Aarons close behind.
Best Ball on the River Course on July 17th proved to be a challenge. The team of Anne Weisenberg, Dora Shoemaker, Julie Scorpazzi, and Donna Aarons rose to the occasion, finishing in first place.
Championship play kicked off on July 24th, with competitors tackling all three nines. The leaderboard saw plenty of movement, but when the dust settled, Kathy Cockayne emerged as the Grand Net Champion, finishing 5 under par with an impressive combined score of 103. Donna Aarons followed in second place at 106 (2 under par), while Shannon Hagen took third with a score of 112. Shannon also claimed the title of Gross Champion for the 9-Hole Championship.
Rounding out the top net finishers were Jackie Katzakian (4th), Jennie Fuller (5th), and Julie Scorpazzi (6th).
Looking ahead to August, we’re excited for another month of fun golf! Upcoming formats include Best Ball, “3 Clubs & a Putter,” Scramble, and Stroke Play.
We hope to see many of you out on the course!
