When you love someone, you do everything in your power to protect them. I thought I was keeping my dog Luna safe by using commonly recommended flea-and-tick control. But when she became ill, I knew there had to be a better way.

Mosquitoes

What:

Winged. Varied. Can be lifethreatening. Known to carry Malaria, West Nile, and Zika virus.

Where:

Anywhere it’s warm, wet, and/ or humid. Standing water. Leafy debris.

How:

These pesky insects are largely ever-present in many environments.

Ants

What.

Skinny, crawling bugs with bent antennae. Most are brown. Three distinct body parts.

Where.

They nest underground outdoors in anthills or inside trees in large groups called colonies.

How.

These social bugs live, work, and travel in large numbers together. Ants enter homes through gaps around doors, holes in window screens, and cracks.

Ticks

What:

Arachnid. Hardy. Climbers. Identified by feeling a small bump on the skin. Known to carry Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Where:

Grasses, leaves, gardens, damp and heavily-wooded areas.

How:

These larger, slower pests don’t actively seek out hosts and are usually picked up accidentally by brushing against grass or plants.

Fleas

What:

Tiny. Wingless. Parasitic. Identified by an itchy skin or black and white specks in fur. Known to cause dermatitis, tapeworm, and anemia.

Where:

Grass. Shaded areas under trees. Cracks in flooring.

How:

These tremendous leapers quickly spread to multiple hosts and into your home.

Maintain

Apply every month or as often as needed to maintain your yard. Still seeing bugs? Use a little more often (or if you're using concentrate, add more into your sprayer).

What.

Flat, oval-shaped body. Six long, spiny legs. Fast. Some have wings and can fly.

Where.

In kitchens and bathrooms, under sinks, near food. Outside in garbage cans, brush, leaf litter.

How.

These creepy crawlers are often blamed on poor housekeeping, and they can get inside by hitching a ride on infested items from outdoors, via cracks and gaps in a home, or through drains. Some even fly inside, attracted by lights. They leave their droppings wherever they go.

Fruit Flies

What.

Small flies that feed on fruits, leaves, plant secretions, and honeydew from aphids. Known to annoy and stress us out.

Where.

In the kitchen or anywhere you have sweet things for them to eat.

Ants What.

How.

ON DOGS AND CATS

Use Daily

After a spot test, rub your pet’s coat in the opposite direction of growth, spray, and rub in. Spray body, belly, legs, and tail. A light but thorough misting ensures best results. Spray into hands and apply to pet's ears and face.

For continuous protection, reapply daily, every 24 hours. Apply before going to an area not protected by Wondercide such as a dog park or on a hike.

It’s easy. It’s healthy. And it’s delicious!

In springtime, and just about always, we’re embracing all things green at Wondercide. For all of us, green is a symbol of the wisdom of nature and abundant vitality. Green reminds us how important it is to take care of ourselves so we can be healthy and keep doing good things in the world. In honor of the holiday that’s all about green, we’re celebrating with the creation of healthy and festive drinks.

Since spring is the time for nature to do its green cleaning with the brightening of the grass and newlygrown plants, why not do the same with our minds and bodies? So, join us in greening up the day with a healthy smoothie recipe to keep our bodies and brains ahead of the curve.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: Greens? Yuck! Just hear us out because you’ve never had a green smoothie like this before. This drink will likely cure your preconceived notions about green juices, smoothies, and beverages across the board. You’ll feel healthy, refreshed, and high-spirited.

Ingredients:

• 3 large kale leaves (stems removed)

• 1 small cucumber or 1/2 large cucumber (skin on)

• 1 cup almond milk (either plain or vanilla)

• 2 celery stalks

• 2 fresh mint leaves

• 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks

Once you’ve assembled your ingreen-dients, all you have to do is drop them all in a blender and blend until it’s reached a consistency you desire. Pour into a cup and enjoy! If you’re wondering why these ingredients are so significant, let us explain. It’s just as important to understand why something is healthy as it is to know what is good for you.

Kale.

Kale is good for the heart and contains lots of healthy fiber and potassium.

Cucumber.
