What:
Tiny. Wingless. Parasitic. Identified by an itching pet or black and white specks in fur. Known to cause dermatitis, tapeworm, and anemia.
Where:
Grass. Shaded areas under trees. Cracks in flooring.
How: These tremendous leapers quickly spread to multiple hosts and into your home. Many wild animals carry fleas that can then end up in your yard or nearby trails — making environmental control vital. Wherever an infested animal goes is where the flea life cycle can exist!
Did you know?
Adult fleas make up only 5% of the flea population, but they can lay thousands of eggs in their lifetime. Plus, eggs can hatch in as little as two days, so the problem can get out of control fast.
What: Arachnid. Hardy. Climbers. Identified by feeling a small bump on pet’s skin. Known to carry Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Where: Dark, damp areas, heavily-wooded areas, and tall grasses
How: These larger, slower pests don’t actively seek out hosts and are usually picked up accidentally by brushing against grass or plants — because total prevention is difficult, deterring them from staying on your pet and attaching to them is key. Eggs 50%

Design tips to maintain a stylish home even with furry occupants
How much do we love our pets? So much, that 90.5 million families share this adoration of animals! That’s upwards of 70 percent of U.S. households owning a pet of some sort! Dogs are in the majority, about 69%, but cats are a close second at 45.3%.
Living with pets makes us more happy. And we want to up that happiness-quota by offering tips about how to make your home joyous, beautiful, cozy, luxurious – all the good things – for you and your pet alike. Here’s how.
Sofas, chairs, rugs – they can look gorgeous, but how’s the functionality? We pet parents need that ying/yang, starting with choosing fabrics and materials that won’t harbor smells and are also stain and scratch-resistant.
These days, furniture companies like Burrow and Floyd are catering to pet households, designing with smart, pet-friendly materials. In high-traffic areas like living rooms, it’s a good idea to choose furniture with easy-to-clean fabrics such as microfiber, microsuede , and other game-changing synthetic fabrics that resist scratches and stains.
We know that removing pet hair is part of our routine, when we can. We’ve found microfiber cloths, a pet sponge, lint brush, or tape best for removing stubborn pet hairs. We relish in cushions with removable covers that can go in the washing machine – so easy!
Faux leathers make wiping furniture even easier, plus we love that their kind to animals when they’re made thoughtfully.
What doesn’t work? Furniture that becomes a scratching post or wears down easily. Avoid buying furniture
with wicker, rattan, or sisal elements. That Frank Gehry Wiggle Chair is absolutely iconic, but unless you want to invest in a $1,500 scratching post, you might want to avoid it.
Even when all the above is ticked off the to-do list, there may still be the chance that pets will be destructive to a living space.
Attractive faux-fur throws or other blankets are stylish and can be washed and changed frequently.
For dogs that are big enough to reach them, installing these elevated dog bowls that have been purposefully attached to the side of the kitchen cabinets, is a great way to prevent them from being kicked about on the kitchen floor.
We love this functional solution to feeding smaller dogs and this classy wall mounted feeder that is sure to keep any cat happy.
If you don’t have the room to slide the pet bowls underneath the toe kick of your kitchen cabinetry, this stylish dresser with a pull-out drawer for pet bowls is another great alternative to keeping your home stylish.
One more alternative is to choose a cabinet drawer at the bottom of the kitchen cabinets and use it as a designated pet food station. Line it with a mat or something else waterproof to protect your cabinets.
Keeping a home stylish is often difficult for pet parents who tend to have more than their fair share of pet accessories, including leashes, toys, and grooming supplies.
Organizing cat and dog supplies is doable if you follow our smart storage solution tips. But first, it’s important that you designate one area of your home for these items, be it an entryway, a mudroom, a kitchen, or a laundry room.
If additional cabinet space is not an option, choose a shelf in the pantry for pet supplies. Adding a standalone storage unit in an empty corner of the room where your pets sleep is an effective way to store pet accessories too.
Adding hooks, baskets and bins will make it more efficient and stylish. It’s easy to attach sturdy command hooks or a functional shelf with baskets on the wall to hang the dog’s leash and harness.
The baskets can be used for toys and can also serve as a space for waste bags and dog-friendly wipes, in addition to grooming supplies.
While we admit that keeping a dog crate out of the way is almost impossible for some pet parents, there are ways to get around that, too.
We suggest you look online for the multiple ways that dog kennels can double as attractive end tables, coffee tables, even credenzas.
With a little creativity and knowhow, we believe that all pet parents can turn their homes into stylish sanctuaries that keep them and their pet companions happy.
It’s early Saturday evening. You’re craving some breeze, a little Vitamin D, hearing the leaves in the trees, playing fetch with your pup. Maybe you’ll sit outside and read a chapter of that book finally. Who knows? The night is young!
With bright spirits and your favorite iced tea, you open your back door and BAM! Your blissful intentions are screeched to a halt with the annoying, pesky, gross MOSQUITOES that bite your ankles and mess up your vision. Is it foggy outside or is that a mosquito in your eye?
Sound painfully familiar?
This was me several months ago, before I began a consistent routine that I’m about to give you the inside scoop on… because sharing is caring, Wonder Pack.
Here’s the thing. Mosquitoes are relentless little creatures. No one has ever claimed they’re “easy” to get rid of, which is why you need a plan of attack. And even better: a tried and true plan of attack chock-full of realistic steps and doable tips:
Step 1: Eliminate the things mosquitoes LOVE like
• Standing water
• Leafy debris
• Have a bird bath? Replace its water every few days.
• Have a pool or pond? Keep the water clean, treated, and filtered.
Step 2: Keep your grass cut short
Mosquitoes love super-tall grass and unkept landscaping. So don’t give it to them! Make sure to keep landscaping areas as manicured as possible. Not into landscaping? Maybe now’s the time to consider xeriscaping or zeros-caping?
Don’t take my word for it. Our mosquito yard sprays underwent third-party lab testing that proved their effectiveness at killing mosquitoes. That's more than other plant-powered sprays and just as effective as common conventional sprays – which means Wondercide is safe around all the things we love like kids, babies, adults, and pets when used as directed. Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP?
To get started, apply two initial treatments 2-10 days apart. What does that mean? If you’re dealing with a TON of mosquitoes, apply the two treatments closer together. If you’re only seeing a few mosquitoes here and there, apply the two treatments further apart. Make sure you're covering your yard fully each time and ALL outdoor areas (decks, porches, patios, fences, outdoor furniture, trees, plants, gardens, bushes). Once you gain control, you can transition to treating about once every 30–45 days depending on the pest pressure in your area. Some customers use
weekly, some use monthly – the key is to find what works for you. The great thing about this mosquito treatment and repellent for yard is it's safe to use as often as needed when used as directed. It also works great as an outdoor tick spray and a yard flea spray.
Here are the two yard spray options with information on both so you can decide what will work best for you:
• Great for small to average-size yards (one bottle covers 5,000 sq. ft.)
• Takes about 20 minutes or less from start to finish for small to average-size yards
• Ships straight to your door ready to spray (just screw on to your hose and you’re good to go!)
• Great to use as a sprayer if you buy concentrate (simply fill the empty ready-to-use bottle with 8–10 oz. of concentrate, fill the rest with warm water, and shake – it’s this easy)
• Perfect for those looking for more flexibility to dial up or down the strength of the solution (e.g. if you’re dealing with a superchallenging infestation, you can easily increase the dilution strength to 8 oz. or even 10 oz.)
• We recommend using a dial hoseend sprayer with concentrate. Wondercide concentrate bottles do not come with a sprayer, and you can easily find one like this online via many sources like Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and so on. Tip reminder: The ready-touse bottle mentioned above works great as a sprayer option, too.
• Comes in 3 sizes so you can choose
which one works best for you (16 oz. treats up to 10,000 sq. ft, 32 oz. treats up to 20,000 sq. ft., and 128 oz. treats up to 80,000 sq. ft.)
• Once you’ve mixed the solution and have your sprayer hooked up, it takes about 20 minutes or less for small to average-size yards
• One more time: it’s great for refilling a ready-to-use bottle :)
Spray on your skin and clothing – safe for babies, too when used as directed :). Make sure to spray hands, feet and ankles. Spray in your hand to apply to the face and
neck. For those long hours outside, reapply as often as needed. Check out the 4 amazing scents here. And one more bonus: this mosquito repellent also works great as a tick repellent for humans and pets.
Just because you might not see as many bugs around when the weather is cooler does not mean you should stop your routine! Keep it up throughout the year. With decades of customers’ feedback and our own team’s testing, treating year-round is proven to result in the best case scenario come spring and summer. Get started today!
