REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN FAMILY MEDICINE

The 63rd session of the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Committee (RC63) endorsed Resolution EM/RC63/R2 which requests Member States to “establish bridgingprogrammesonFamilyMedicinefor generalphysicians”

Consequently, WHO in collaboration with UNICEF, the American University of Beirut andtheEasternMediterraneanRegionWorld Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), developed a one-year programme entitled: “Regional Professional Diploma in Family Medicine(RPD-FM).”

TheRPD-FMwaspresentedtothesixtysixth session of the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Committee (RC66), from 14 to 17 October 2019, where Member States welcomed its establishment as a bridging programmeinfamilymedicine

He Participated in the preparation of the strategicplanforthedevelopmentofPHCin the Arab countries 2011-2016 / League of Arab States. Also, he developed a national curriculum of family medicine and he focus on PHC by allocating the fourth year of the residencyprogramatthetrainingcenter He worked on increasing the number of residents admitted annually to the program at MoH to reach 85 annually He received UHCsystemaward2022forFamilyMedicine and PHC Pioneers in EMR region in recognitionforallhisworkinPHC

10 Contribution with specialists in WHO/EMRO in the preparation of a book:FamilyPracticeintheEasternMediterranean Region / Primary Health Care for UHC and a reportonScalingupFamilyPracticetowards UHC.

13. Preparing the foundations for the establishment of comprehensive health centers in the MoH and the foundations of providingthemwithfamilydoctors

14 Training and accreditation of family doctors on the work and management of healthy schools programs and community HealthClinicsintheKingdom.

15 Inclusion of the Family Practice-Based Approach in three health centers in the Central, North and South regions of the Kingdom.
