A proven plan to stop you from drifting through life and get you the life you’ve always wanted There once was a season in my life where I felt lost and confused. Everywhere I looked it seemed everyone had their life together and were moving towards their goals and this only made me feel worse about my life and future. Its often when we feel like life can’t get any worse that, that is when a breakthrough is often just around the corner. My breakthrough came the day I decided to create a Dream Map, a pictorial representation of my future Dream Life. What helped me achieve this dream life? I backed it up with a step-by-step plan. For the first time I had created a detailed plan for how I was going to get there. Some of us don’t need a plan, however, many of us do.

Once you have done this then there are a few more important steps. The reason you probably haven’t achieved many of your New Years Resolutions is you didn’t have a plan and you hadn’t written down your clear

A Reflection of 2023

by Larissa Wright

As we near the end of the year I'm reminded of how I felt this time last year. There is always a lot of optimism as we head towards a new year, isn't there? I tend to go through and think about what I want, make some big goals, think about what I've learnt and try to be as positive as possible. This is always a good thing, as it sets us up for a fabulous start to the year. There are often however those years which we could describe as our annus horribilis our year of disaster. Looking back over the year that was I definitely could call parts of it my annus horribilis. Weeks in bed, bullying at school, broken relationships - it all adds up to elements of disaster. From this it would be easy to label the year a disaster. However this would be missing a whole lot of positive elements and focusing on the negative. Let's face it as humans we often do this. If you are like this, don't allow this to be the case with your year in reflection. Reflect on what amazing-ness you have created and what has created growth in you. What new creations have begun to brew in 2023 that will be taken into 2024?

Every year I complete my vision board. It gives clarity to what I want for the year and allows me to dream. This year I had a look back at the vision board I made in Nov ‘22. While many aspects of my vision didn't happen much of it was intentional and my life took a different path. So as I reflect and envision 2024 and where I will be this time next year I am reflecting on the amazing friendships I have made, the business goals I have reached and the fun I have had. I am reminded there was a definite reason for my journey in 2023. I am right where I need to be and so are you. Let's make 2024 awesome.

Summer, the most yang season, brims with energy and expansiveness. Embrace this time to connect with your spirit and purpose, to find inspiration, and experience joy. This is a time of ideas, a time to work smarter rather than harder, to be creative and let your Heart guide you in making important decisions. The heart controls sweating to help you stay cool in summer. This is the fire energy so it needs to be balanced with the cooling energy of water.

Good communication is vital for healthy relationships. While the Heart may affect how you speak, remember that what you speak affects your Heart. What is your selftalk like? Did you know that stuttering can be eased by rebalancing Heart energy with acupuncture? Laughter, a healing sound for the Heart, promotes overall well-being. When was the last time you had a good belly laugh?

The Heart corresponds with joy and happiness, forming the core of mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Joy is feeling one with everything and everyone, and a nourished Heart can feel this deeply. The Tao Te Ching calls happiness the most dangerous emotion because by chasing after happiness we often create joyless lives.

When your qi and blood is nourished then your Heart is nourished and this results in emotional balance, clear thinking, good memory, and the ability to form meaningful relationships. Conversely, a malnourished heart leads to issues like depression, anxiety, palpitations, and poor memory.

To support your heart health physically, mentally, and emotionally, consider acupuncture and Chinese herbs and have a joyful and fulfilling summer, where every moment is an opportunity to find joy.

To nurture your Heart, embrace the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. In Chinese medicine, blood is seen as the mother of energy (qi), and energy

Brave Magazine welcomes articles that are empowering, informative, entertaining, humorous or moving. Our regular sections include: Small Business tips & advice Mindset Health & Well-being

Feature Articles Inspiring stories Member Spotlights Member directory

Editorial Policy & Writing Tips We encourage Women with Altitude members to contribute to our magazine. As well as being a fantastic opportunity to share information of value with our community, you will also be building visibility for yourself and your business within WWA.. Please make sure that your article has one central point that offers value to the reader. Unless otherwise agreed, we generally like articles to be written in the third-person (pronouns ‘you’) e.g. ‘Caffeine addiction can be the primary cause of disturbed sleep.’ rather than ‘I have found that caffeine addiction can be the primary cause of disturbed sleep’. Third-person writing is far more objective than using first-person ‘I’. First-person is more of an opinion/blog piece, which is sometimes acceptable depending on the topic. Please adhere to the word counts (350 for one page -OR- 600 for two pages). We don't want to cut out anything that you would have preferred to be left in. WWA reserves the right to edit all material accepted for publication. Research, Referencing, & Copyright Please make sure that quotes/sources are first-hand. Make sure that your article is entirely your own original, unpublishedd work. If you use statistics or info from other sources, make sure to acknowledge your references by citing the website, author, newspaper, magazine, date, etc.

Article Submission Process

Send your article to info@womenwithaltitude.com.au with the subject for Brave Magazine. Please include all the social links you want to have at the bottom of your article. Please note that WWA reserves the right to edit articles for clarity and size. However, we will endeavour to keep your article intact. Please stick strictly to the word count assigned. Articles will be returned to the author to be shortened if they exceed the word count guidelines. Word count - 1 Page = 275 words + 2 images - 2 Pages = 575 words + 3 images
