IMMERSION PROGRAMME AT WOLDINGHAM

Introduction

Woldingham is a leading boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18. Set in over 500 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, Woldingham is ideally situated just 30 minutes from London by train and 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport and 45 minutes from Heathrow Airport.

Founded in 1842, Woldingham is one of the oldest girls’ schools in England. Woldingham is a Catholic school and part of the Sacred Heart network of 153 schools worldwide. Our empowered learning philosophy and values-driven ethos develops courageous, confident and compassionate young women. Our girls achieve excellent academic results and we offer outstanding pastoral care, Woldingham is a school where every girl is known as an individual and is nurtured and encouraged to achieve her full potential.

The student experience

Woldingham’s rich history of accepting overseas students into our school community dates back nearly 50 years. We offer tailor-made opportunities throughout the school year to host a group of girls aged 11-17 for a two to three week immersion stay at our beautiful school site.

Students are required to take an online EAL test before we can offer them a place on this programme. It’s important their English is good enough to be able to access the full academic and pastoral experience at Woldingham.

Visiting students will shadow a Woldingham student, who will be their buddy, and will mirror her timetable.

A video call will be arranged for parents to meet the Woldingham team, after which separate calls between the student and her buddy will be arranged.

Students wear their own uniform and sports uniform including trainers (indoor and outdoor). They will require a selection of home clothes to wear in the evenings and at weekends. They will also need a laptop and a refillable water bottle.

Alongside immersion in Woldingham school life, additional trips are planned exclusively for visiting students at weekends and on Wednesdays.
