EXAMINATION RESULTS AND DESTINATIONS OF LEAVERS
2026
I am proud of all the girls who sat A Levels and GCSEs this year. It is a testament to the nurture and uniqueness of the Woldingham experience that they have navigated the challenge of public exams so successfully. We are delighted that, once again, half of all A Level grades awarded were A*/A and over 80% of grades were A*-B, with almost quarter of our Upper Sixth achieving a clean sweep of A*/A grades. These superb results have taken our students to top universities in the UK and overseas, where the subjects they are studying range from medicine, engineering, economics, psychology and chemistry to politics, history, sports science, modern foreign languages and fine art. The most popular universities for this year’s Upper Sixth leavers were Durham, Bristol, Newcastle, Exeter, Manchester, Edinburgh and UCL for courses including Computer Science, Italian and Spanish, Biological Sciences, English Literature, and Environmental Science. We are also celebrating success for students who have chosen to study overseas at Berklee College of Music, Boston and Tufts University, also Boston, as well as UDIT in Madrid, Bond University on Australia’s Gold Coast, Erasmus University in Rotterdam and Jagiellonian University Medical College, Poland.
For GCSE, results in English, Geography, Computer Science, Art, Design Technology and Music were particularly impressive. As at A Level, Art results were superb with 84% of grades 9 or 8 and almost half of English Literature grades achieved by the whole year group were either 9 or 8. More than 80% of Music and Computer Science results, three quarters of grades for Geography and over 70% of grades for Design Technology and History were 9–7. As in previous years, our GCSE students’ ‘value added’ scores demonstrated an overall average of more than half a grade higher than predicted. With the vast majority continuing their educational journey in Woldingham’s dynamic Sixth Form, these students have much to look forward to. I am confident they will continue to thrive, excel academically and embrace all that Woldingham has to offer both inside and outside the classroom.
