I am extremely proud of the students who took public exams this year. The A Level and GSCE grades achieved by Woldingham students in summer 2025 were excellent across the subject areas.
At GCSE, nearly half of all results were at grades 9-8 and 70% at grades 9-7. Results in English, Geography, Triple Science and Spanish were particularly impressive: 94% of Triple Science results and more than 90% of Spanish results were grades 9-7. MFL results overall were extremely strong, with students achieving an average of two grades higher than predicted for French, German and Spanish. Our GCSE cohort was heavily impacted by COVID because they began Year 7 in 2020, and it is a testament to Woldingham’s empowered learning approach and supportive pastoral care that they have navigated the last five years so successfully.
At A Level, half of all grades awarded were A*/A and more than 80% of grades were A*-B, with a quarter of our students achieving a clean sweep of A* and A grades. These fantastic results enabled the majority of our Upper Sixth leavers to take up their first-choice places at leading universities in the UK and overseas. The most popular universities for this year’s departing Upper Sixth were Exeter, Newcastle, UCL and Durham. That our students have won places to study a fantastically broad range of subjects - from engineering, politics, economics, and architecture to psychology, ancient history and archaeology, marine biology, and fine art - epitomises the strengths and opportunities Woldingham offers across STEM, humanities and the creative arts.
