CHAOS

How Obama and the left are transforming not only THE biggest debate in the country right now seems to be whether President Obama is destroying America intentionally – or destroying it out of incompetence and mindnumbing ideological blindness.

There’s little serious dispute that, for whatever reason, he’s destroying the country.

In one sense, it’s irrelevant whether the destruction is intentional or not. If we’re all passengers on a giant train careening straight toward a cliff, does it really matter what the conductor is thinking? We need to get off the train – or better yet, replace the conductor asap.

And make no mistake, Obama is steering us toward that cliff at breakneck speed. Just consider: He has effectively thrown America’s southern border wide open and lured legions of illegal immigrants, many of them disease-ridden, to flood into the U.S.; he has also released into the general U.S. population over 36,000 criminal illegal aliens who have a total of almost 88,000 criminal convictions between them; he has, by refusing to leave the minimal stay-behind force in Iraq urged by every military expert, enabled the unprecedented creation of a huge terrorist state in the heart of the Middle East, thereby endangering the U.S. homeland and dishonoring the sacrifices of the almost 4,500 American warriors who died liberating that nation; he has released back onto the battlefield, during wartime, five top terrorist leaders in exchange for a U.S. Army deserter he lionized as a hero; he has daily displayed utter contempt for the Constitution and used the fearsome apparatus of the federal government to reward cronies and punish critics, whom he calls “enemies”; he has presided over a contracting U.S. economy, with a staggering 92 million working-age Americans no longer in the workforce and 20 percent of households dependent on government food stamps; he has intentionally, through shameless deception, hobbled the most admired and advanced healthcare system in the world, causing millions of insured Americans to lose

their healthcare coverage, premium prices to skyrocket and doctors to quit; and he has permitted and encouraged powerful government agencies – from the IRS to the NSA, from the Justice Department to the Veterans Administration – to wreak incalculable havoc and harm on the lives of the American people.

I might have skipped a few things – but you get the idea.

So whether we regard Obama as someone operating in a trance-like state rooted in his deeply engrained leftwing ideology, childhood traumas and “anti-colonial” resentments inherited from his father, or we believe him to be a full-fledged sociopath, devoid of conscience, totally aware that he is causing immense suffering and lasting damage to the greatest nation on earth, the inescapable fact is, he is doing it. And what he is doing is transforming not only America as a nation – but Americans.

That last point is the focus of this report. It is ironic that a major aspect of Obama’s “fundamental transformation of America” – arguably the most important aspect – is virtually never discussed or even acknowledged in the news media.

So, here we go. Let’s take a trip way past all the sensational headlines, and journey around to the “far side of the moon” of the Obama presidency – to the largely unexplored hidden side of “fundamental transformation,” of progressive “hope and change,” of “manufactured crisis,” of “never letting a good crisis go to waste,” of the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” everyone is talking about these days.

Once we see what lurks in that mysterious nether region we’ll have a much better appreciation of what we’re really dealing with in America today. And perhaps we’ll even gain a better understanding of how to reclaim our country.

CLOWARD-PIVEN 9.0 They are two of the most-used words in American political discourse today: “Cloward-Piven.”

THEORY

America – but Americans

Once an obscure insider expression for the process of intentionally overloading and crashing a hated system or program to accomplish a political goal, today the term is on everybody’s lips: Governors, congressmen and senators, as well as pundits, analysts and politically aware Americans of many stripes daily describe the nonstop crises and scandals that make up the very warp and weft of the Obama presidency – but especially the unprecedented flood of illegal aliens – as “the Cloward-Piven strategy at work.”

Here’s a quick crash course in crashing a system: Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were Columbia University sociologists who in 1966 published, in the leftwing publication The Nation, their plan to destroy New York City’s welfare system by intentionally overloading it with applicants. Their assumption was that, to resolve the resulting crisis and chaos, a new socialist system would eventually be instituted, guaranteeing a “livable minimum income” for everyone – whether they worked or not.

Journalist and author Richard Poe tells the amazing story of how Cloward and Piven brought New Richard Poe York City to its knees: Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.” Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly leftwing journalists, would float the idea of “a federal program of income redistribution,” in the form of a guaranteed living income for all – working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like

drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act.

This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements – mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown – providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory.

This massive and aggressive extortion scheme worked like a charm – at least, the “overwhelm and crash the system” part worked just fine, along with the part about creating “fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse.”

As Poe recounts, “Cloward and Piven recruited a militant black organizer named George Wiley to lead George Wiley their new movement”: In the summer of 1967, Wiley founded the National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO). His tactics closely followed the recommendations set CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

out in Cloward and Piven’s article. His followers invaded welfare offices across the United States – often violently – bullying social workers and loudly demanding every penny to which the law “entitled” them. By 1969, NWRO claimed a dues-paying membership of 22,500 families, with 523 chapters across the nation.

The end result? According to the New York-based City Journal, “From 1965 to 1974, the number of single-parent households on welfare soared from 4.3 million to 10.8 million, despite mostly flush economic times. By the early 1970s, one person was on the welfare rolls in New York City for every two working in the city’s private economy.”

As a direct consequence, the gargantuan levels of welfare spending forced New York City to declare bankruptcy in 1975.

Fast-forward to today. With the unprecedented border crisis resulting from Obama’s flagrant refusal to enforce federal immigration laws; his executive imposition of the “Dream Act” Congress refused to pass, as well as other presidential actions and statements, together constituting a de facto invitation to Central American youth; and the predicable flood of tens of thousands of illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexican border and then secretly being bussed and flown to communities all over the United States whether residents want them or not; in all of this, we are witnessing the same Cloward-Piven strategy of intentionally overloading a system.

Except this time, the system to be overloaded, broken and transformed is America herself.

A stunning twist to Obama’s border strategy is its intentional exploitation of the basic decency of the American middle class. By enticing multitudes of illegal-alien mothers and children into this nation (along with criminals, ultraviolent MS-13 gang members and possibly – warn experts – Middle Eastern terrorists), Obama knows Americans’ sympathy and fundamental goodness will cause many to reluctantly welcome the illegals and drop their opposition to his increasing lawlessness. Using children as a tool of unconventional warfare is common in the Arab-Muslim Middle East – as the world has witnessed lately in Gaza – but very unconventional in the U.S. 6 whistleblower August 2014

Meanwhile, as Americans witness the unfolding immigration outrage, which amounts to little short of a full-scale invasion of their country, they are haunted by President Ronald Reagan’s prescient warning: “A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.”

OVERLOADING MORE THAN ‘THE SYSTEM’ Thus it is that “Cloward-Piven” has come to characterize a major crisis manufactured for the purpose of dragging center-right America kicking and screaming leftward – always leftward.

But such tactics and the chaos they produce, devastating as they are to the nation, constitute only half the story.

You see, the crisis-creation strategy of radical transformation encompasses not merely stressing, overloading and breaking this entitlement program or that welfare system, this healthcare system or that border-security system.

In addition, the creation of unbearable stress and crisis in our nation is, on an even more fundamental level, all about stressing Americans, overloading Americans, about breaking down, about rebuilding, about fundamentally transforming Americans.

If you don’t understand this, you can’t even begin to understand the radical left, how it operates and what it’s doing to America.

The key is to realize that stressing and breaking the American system – Judeo-Christian, limited-government, free-enterprise, a uniquely noble system “of, by, and for the people” – cannot possibly occur without stressing and breaking people. And when people are stressed and strained to the breaking point … then you can reprogram them.

And that’s where all the real fundamental transformation takes place.

Therefore, what follows is a brief exploration of the world of everyday, garden-variety political brainwashing as it occurs in the United States. We will discover why progressive change agents – whether they do it consciously or unconsciously – find it necessary to overload and break not just systems, but people. Indeed, leftwing revolutionary tactics are all about overloading people until they break – which is, in large measure, why America is such a broken society today.

Let’s pause and recognize a bizarre reality: The exploitation of crises – real, imagined or manufactured – constitutes the left’s primary mode of “governance,” which for leftists always amounts to the acquisition, exercise and expansion of power. It’s what former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was obliquely admitting when he said: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before ...”

The kind of all-powerful government Barack Obama envisions is, quite literally, a condition of perpetual crisis.

Of course, for America-hating radicals, the U.S. as it has traditionally existed has been in a state of crisis, thanks to our intolerable level of “income equality,” our “broken” healthcare system, our “exploitation” of other nations, and our supposedly still-rampant racism, discrimination, homophobia and so on.

But what if “progressives” assumed total, unfettered control of American government and were able to completely reshape the nation in their image, implementing every single “change” their hearts desired. What then?

Then we’d have constant crisis. Leftists’ idea of utopia – massive ongoing wealth confiscation and redistribution to enable cradle-to-grave security for all – requires (and expands) crisis. Socialism or statism, being the parasitical system it is, grows only in a nutrient base of chaos, discontent, dysfunction and dependency.

What doesn’t thrive in a state of crisis-induced everexpanding government is liberty. Businesses and entrepreneurism don’t thrive and grow under massive, enlarging government. Even worse, strong and intact families don’t tend to thrive under a nanny state, with divorce so easy, single-parent dependence on government so perversely incentivized, and socialist government – being the jealous god it is – discouraging, in a multitude of ways, stable and Godcentered families.

We are all, one way or another, pushed into crisis mode by big government. Otherwise, who needs all that government?

Veteran forensic psychiatrist Lyle Rossiter, M.D., crystalizes the underlying psychology of all this in his book, “The Liberal Mind”: What the radical liberal mind really longs for, as revealed in his political goals, is a child’s relationship to a loving family whose caretaking compensates him for the injuries he suffered in his early years.

He seeks all of this in the contemporary political arena. The major problem he faces is that a substantial portion of the population is still competent: It is a population that deeply reveres individual liberty, readily accepts its responsibilities, and passionately opposes its destruction.

Responsible, well-grounded adults, argues Rossiter, are happy to take care of their own families’ needs through voluntary cooperation, and vehemently reject the nanny government’s intrusions.

What the competent citizen wants, in contrast to the modern liberal, is a coherent and dependable structure for ordered liberty, secured by a limited government that respects the autonomy and sovereignty of the individual and protects his property rights against the constant invasions of collectivism.

The liberal mind rejects this prescription on principle and attempts to overthrow it in government policy. What the liberal seeks in order to feel secure is the modern welfare state with its endless guarantees and endless regulations. This goal is literally fantastic in its own right. But equally irrational is the method by which he attempts to achieve it. He is willing to use any kind of government power, including power which destroys the foundations of civilized freedom, in order to get what he demands: government-insured safety and security over the entire lifespan, along with accommodation to his neurotic demands. So let’s now examine this premise that inordinate stress, pressure, anxiety and resentment – created and promoted by radical change agents in and out of government – actually serve to transform the attitudes and beliefs of everyday citizens.

‘THE DESIRED COLLAPSE’ “Whoever can be roused either to fear or anger by a politician … is more easily led to accept the desired pattern of ‘cooperation,’ even though this may violate his normal judgment.”

So concludes William Sargant, M.D., pioneering British psychiatrist and author of “Battle for the Mind: A Physiology of Conversion and Brainwashing.”

Sargant documented, to put it plainly, that if you put people under enough stress, you can radically change the way they think – just through pressure. He wrote: The evidence … shows how various types of belief can be implanted in many people, after brain function has been sufficiently disturbed by accidentally or deliberately induced fear, anger or excitement.

Of the results caused by such disturbances, the most common one is temporarily impaired judgment and heightened suggestibility. Its various group manifestations are sometimes classed under the heading of “herd instinct,” and appear most spectacularly in wartime, during severe epidemics, and in all similar periods of common danger, which increase anxiety and so individual and mass suggestibility.

Let’s look at what he’s saying through the lens of today: “Periods of common danger” – i.e., serious national crises – “increase anxiety and so individual and mass suggestibility.”

Do our leaders resort to promoting “deliberately induced fear, anger or excitement” in the public mind? Yes of course. But let’s add in a couple more ingredients.

“Brainwashers,” notes Sargant, “use a technique of conversion which does not depend only on the heightening of group suggestibility, but also on the fomenting in an indi-

vidual of anxiety, of a sense of real or imaginary guilt, and of a conflict of loyalties, strong and prolonged enough to bring about the desired collapse.”

Fear, anger, excitement, guilt, anxiety, conflict – exactly the emotions our “leaders” constantly attempt to manipulate in us. A few quick examples: Race: Leftists never tire of manipulating Americans’ historical national guilt over slavery and segregation, diligently striving to keep the fires of guilt and shame alive in presentday Americans for sins mostly committed generations ago by people long since dead.

Ironically, in the Age of Obama, racism is often portrayed as America’s worst, or at least most ubiquitous, national sin, as though the USA is the most racist country on earth. In reality, of course – with the vast majority of citizens long ago having wholeheartedly embraced Martin Luther King’s vision of a “color-blind America,” and with a popularly elected black president and a black attorney general currently running the country – America is without doubt the least racist nation on earth.

Author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza tells the story of his debate with Jesse Jackson at Stanford University: When asked to identify any actual racism in today’s America, Jackson “couldn’t give any evidence that contemporary racism had kept his children down.” However, adds D’Souza, Jackson countered “that precisely the absence of evidence is what worried him the most”: Jackson’s argument was that racism, once overt, had now become covert. In other words, racism hadn’t decreased in the slightest but it now worked in ever-more-subtle ways to deny African Americans their share of the American dream.

Got that? The less racism there is in America, the more racism there is. Of course, for people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, America must be racist or they’re out of a lucrative job. That’s the bottom line: If their “base” is not constantly riled up, resentful, kept full of perceived grievances and forever blaming others, such “civil rights leaders” have no job, no power, and no money. Truth be told, people like Jackson and Sharpton are parasites who literally live on promoting the anger and resentment of others.

Taxes: Another place where upsetting Americans is job one is at the IRS. Everyone knows our “voluntary” federal income tax system works only if the Internal Revenue Service can keep taxpayers fearful. But did you ever stop to consider that maybe the entire purpose of the IRS, with its impossibly complex code and excruciating audits designed to inspire fear in the rest of the population, is not raising revenue, but keeping people fearful and submissive to government? After all, Congress could easily transform the federal income tax into a “flat tax” or “fair tax,” pegging either at a rate sufficient to bring in the same level of revenue as the income tax does – or even more, if need be. Both alternatives are widely acknowledged to be far superior and far less invasive than the current income tax system ruled over by the IRS. It’s not about the money – it’s really not. It’s about maintaining a consistent level of intimidation and fear as a means of conditioning the public to reflexively submit to government authority. Without the IRS, this major source of fear-conditioning would disappear and the American people would breathe more easily and deeply, would feel freer, more at liberty – almost as though the government existed to serve them! (Obviously, the ruling elite cannot allow that kind of radical idea to take hold.)

The current IRS scandal, as outrageous and criminal as it is, doesn’t really hurt the agency and arguably increases its effectiveness. Why? The IRS depends on the principle of fear and intimidation. Do Americans now hate and fear the IRS more or less than before the scandal? Remember, hate and emotional upset easily morph into fear and anxiety at tax time.

Sex: Another key area where the public mind has proven extremely malleable under pressure is sexuality. A generation ago, the idea of two men marrying each other, or two women, would universally have been considered so bizarre that its advocate would be regarded as insane, or certainly a dangerous moral anarchist operating far outside the realm of civilized society. Yet today, just a few decades later, opposition to “same-sex marriage” is increasingly regarded not just as bigotry and hatred – but as a crime.

What happened?

Recall Sargant’s admonition that political “brainwashers” often rely on promoting “anxiety … a sense of real or imaginary guilt, and … a conflict of loyalties, strong and prolonged enough to bring about the desired collapse.”

The “desired collapse” in this case would be the “collapse” of traditional Judeo-Christian (biblical) values – the very same values that have undergirded Western Civilization for millennia.

Yet today, many “conservatives” and even a lot of “Christians” openly embrace gay marriage, when just a few years ago those same people were repulsed by the very thought. What changed? Not the Christian faith or the Bible. Not common sense and basic morality. Not the core realities of biology and disease. What did change, however, was that for several decades the American public has been subjected to relentless intimidation and pressure to embrace homosexuality and same-sex marriage.

Here’s the whole tale in just two words: Pressure converts.

Or as Sargant put it, applying pressure in a sufficiently “strong and prolonged enough” way will eventually “bring about the desired collapse.”

In the Age of Obama, of course, the “collapse” is better known as … “fundamental transformation.”

CHAOS THEORY Who taught Obama to create chaos to gain power? That’s easy to answer – he brags about it.

In 2007, referring to his community organizing years practicing and teaching the methods developed by Chicago Marxist Saul Alinsky and memorialized in “Rules for Radicals,” Obama told the Iowa Citizen Action Network, a leftwing “community organizing” group: “It was that education that was seared into my brain. It was the best education I ever had, better than anything I got at Harvard Law School.”

Let’s see what Alinsky teaches in “Rules” and discover exactly what was “seared” into Obama’s brain:

• “Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frusCONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

trated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future.”

• “The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.”

• “It should be remembered that you can threaten the • “A revolutionary organizer must shake up the prevailing patterns of their lives – agitate, create disenchantment and discontent with the current values, to produce, if not a passion for change, at least a passive, affirmative, nonchallenging climate.”

Got that so far? All Americans need to be made to feel “frustrated,” “defeated,” “lost” and “passive” so these geniuses can step into leadership roles and create their socialist utopia. The fact that their plan has never worked before – ever – at any place or time in all of history, is not a problem to them. You see, all that was lacking all those other times and places was the right people to run things – namely them, today’s leftist utopians.

Here is some more timeless wisdom from Saul Alinsky, in which he focuses on the key battle tactic:

• “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”

• “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign. It should be remembered not only that the action is in the reaction but that action is itself the consequence of reaction and of reaction to the reaction, ad infinitum. The pressure produces the reaction, and constant pressure sustains action.”

• “In a fight almost anything goes. It almost reaches the point where you stop to apologize if a chance blow lands above the belt.”

• “The real action is in the enemy’s reaction.”

Pause button, please: A crucial principle is buried in these exhortations to pressure the “enemy” so that it “reacts” and keeps on “reacting.” Alinsky even notes that “the reactions from the opposition … are essential for the success of the campaign.” He’s saying it’s not just the campaign tactics that deliver success – but the reactions (“ad infinitum”) of the enemy. And that word, “reaction,” of course, is really code for anger, resentment – which always takes you off your game and causes you to lose your cool, lose energy and lose your good judgment.

Is there any doubt as to what Alinsky’s “rules” and “tactics” are really all about? Making other people as angry, anxious, fearful, frustrated, intimidated, enraged, doubtful and upset as possible.

Such tactics may be perfectly fine if you are truly at war with a dangerous and evil enemy, but the problem is, the left sees itself as being at war with traditional America – and traditional Americans.

Just how do you suppose hundreds of millions of people in China during Mao’s Zedong’s “cultural revolution” came to believe in their leader’s dark and demented teachings as expounded in his famous “Little Red Book”? Did they all magically see the light at the same time? No, but they all felt the heat at the same time – the heat of peer pressure and ruthless intimidation. And that, my friends, is a form of brainwashing, which causes you not only to accept, but to embrace heartily, to proselytize others, to rat out your “disloyal” neighbors, to punish others who may stray from the faith. That’s how it works.

Decades ago, while traveling on a train through what was then communist Yugoslavia, I got into a conversation with a lady passenger about freedom and “basic rights.” I

explained that in America, we have fundamental freedoms of speech, the press, religion, association, travel and so on, as well as freedom of opportunity – to succeed or fail, but also to be able to keep the fruits of our labors and to be free of the tyranny of a stifling and predatory government.

She countered, with words very close to these: “I know that’s what you believe in America. But in my society, we believe basic rights include the right to a job, to housing, to health care, to the basics of life. We consider these to be our basic rights.”

“OK,” said I, “but what if you have to sacrifice your individual rights and liberties in order to provide such security for everyone?”

Her reply was that it was worth the tradeoff.

Although that conversation occurred more than three decades ago, I remember it vividly. The lady passenger, an unashamed supporter of the communist system under which she lived, even said she thought it appropriate for her government to restrict freedom of the press to “protect” the citizenry from being confused and confounded by divisive information and opinions that might threaten the harmony of the nation. In other words, no freedom of the press.

Yet in no way did this woman seem particularly malevolent. She just internalized these anti-freedom beliefs because of peer pressure – she believed what everybody else believed, and if she didn’t, she would be in serious trouble.

All it takes is pressure and, for many of us, our views are deftly remolded to conform to the pressure source.

But what about those who, despite the intimidators’ best efforts, remain unconverted? They are to be blocked, demonized, punished, neutralized and ridiculed. That’s the gospel according to Saul.

Actually, Alinsky, an atheist, may have thought he was just being darkly whimsical when dedicating “Rules for Radicals” to “Lucifer” (whom he described as “the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom”). What he may not have realized, however, was that his teachings are very much from the dark side of life.

CRIMINAL illegal aliens released by the Obama administration between 2009 and 2011 went on to be charged with 19 murders, three attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, a House Judiciary Committee report documented.

The statistics pose a grim outlook for the 36,007 additional criminal illegal aliens reportedly released last year by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE. A 2012 House report reviewed the effectiveness of the Secure Communities program, a project initially launched by the Bush administration to build databases that identify illegal aliens who qualify for deportation. The data covered arrests from October 2008 through July 2011.

The report analyzed data on 159,286 legal and illegal immigrants arrested by state or local police, including 7,283 illegal aliens who could have been deported but who were not taken into custody by ICE despite being identified as living in the country unlawfully.

The data show that along with drunken-driving charges, the released illegals went on to commit 16,226 new crimes, including 19 murders, 142 sex offenses, 1,420 drug crimes, 682 cases of burglary or theft and 48 firearms charges.

A recent Center for Immigration Studies report found that in 2013, ICE again released violent criminals, this time including murderers, rapists, kidnappers and drug dealers.

The offenders were among the 36,007 criminal illegal aliens released last year who committed 87,818 crimes, including 15,635 for driving while intoxicated.

The statistics show ICE released illegals jailed for 9,187 dangerous drug infractions, 426 sexual assault convictions, 303 kidnapping convictions, 193 homicide convictions, 1,317 domestic violence convictions and 1,075 aggravated assault convictions.

In the end, slippery political expressions like “fundamental transformation,” “community organizing,” “manufactured crisis” and “the Cloward-Piven strategy” all amount to the same thing: ruthless intimidation and pressure to bring about “change.”

As we have seen, while the left is busy transforming the America we see, the most important part of that transformation is taking place inside vulnerable Americans. If we are continually pressured, stressed and intimidated – unless we discover how to endure pressure without being adversely impacted – we change.

And unfortunately, those who would usher in socialist paradise don’t even need to convert you to win.

They don’t need to succeed in changing your worldview or your values or your morality or your goodness. All they have to do to neutralize your influence is to stress you to the point that 1) you burn out, 2) you get so angry you end up doing something stupid and serve their interests, or 3) you give up and drop out, to avoid falling prey to 1 or 2.

I constantly encounter very decent people who no longer watch or read the news or follow what is happening in the world – and worse, some of them don’t even vote. I hear it all the time: “It’s over, the country is lost.” “The Republicans are no better than the Democrats, so why vote?” Or (this excuse is for Christians), “I stay away from politics, I’m concerned only with the Lord’s work and spreading the Gospel.” Once that happens and all the people of sound mind and values, feeling so assaulted by the relentlessly negative news day after day, simply drop out for the sake of their own sanity, then the country is rudderless. All the most broken and deluded people will, by default, inherit the government and culture and assume control of our country.

‘There is an undeniable genius to this form of border attack’

ITisn’t that the barbarians are at the gate. The barbarians control the gate. What else does one call a president and attorney general who have opened the U.S. border to literally tens of thousands of “children” – some described as “sexually active” teens, some even suspected of ties to gangs.

This not only breaks laws, it breaks trust. Opening the border this way also opens the most outrageous front to date in what increasingly looks like a kind of war aimed at “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” And the people’s elected representatives do nothing.

Children are usually just children, but when 130,000 of them are expected to storm the border in the coming year, they more closely resemble an advancing column, a kind of foreign legion of child-mercenaries raised abroad with cynical promises of booty in the form of cradle-to-grave taxpayer charity.

But who will fight “children”? This is the audacity of this latest Obama “crisis”: Trojan horse as “humanitarian crisis.” For the literary set, call it “Camp of the Saintlets,” a twist on the prophetic “Camp of the Saints,” the 1973 novel by French author Jean Raspail envisioning an apocalyptic “invasion” of Europe by successive boatloads of Third World nationals, which is today old news out of Spain, Italy and other nations.

Of course, there is an undeniable genius to this form of border attack. All “the kids” from the rest of the world (do you really think Central America is the end?) have to do is serve as pitiful proxies of the assault. lately? Just shut up and watch as this newfangled children’s crusade turns our border, the concept of nationhood itself, into dust. Welcome to Obamaland.

Of course, even the 17-year-old gangbangers among the youngsters aren’t the masterminds or generals. Like American citizens, they are pawns, dupes, lured by promises Washington may indeed extract from Us, the People. “Go to America with your child, you won’t be turned away,” one Guatemalan mother told a radio station in the Rio Grande Valley. She is right. Come one, come all.

Once they are over the increasingly irrelevant line, Obama officials welcome the invading junior armies, shepherding them straight into an enfolding and enlarging federal safety net from which they may never have to emerge.

These are just the newest wards of a brave new state that bears no resemblance to the republic as defined by those antique documents kept under glass in the dim light of the National Archives.

Meanwhile, “the kids” have hit the jackpot – that jackpot of socialist programs that separates today’s “new Americans” from our forefathers. Not so long ago, immigrants came for liberty and opportunity, not tax-supported handouts.

We are witnessing the betrayal of that nation of liberty and opportunity because there are so few in power with the courage to lawfully oppose it – not just rail about it all as a mere columnist.

Meanwhile, American citizens are footing the bill. Living costs aside, Attorney General Eric Holder has announced that the Obama administration – i.e., We, the Taxpayers – will be providing attorneys for the legions of

“unaccompanied minors.” Holder’s non-specific language is telling: “We’re taking a historic step to … protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society,” he said.

Historic step is right – Legal Aid for the world. He continued: “How we treat those in need … goes to the core of who we are as a nation.” OK, so who are we, Mr. Attorney General, as a “nation”? The Western Hemisphere?

Once upon a time, the U.S. staged the Berlin Airlift, mounting an astounding 200,000 flights in one year to keep Soviet-blockaded Berlin supplied with fuel and foodstuffs. Today, a more modest Central American Airlift would do to return these runaways to their families. One thing at a time, though. How about calling out the National Guard? It would even be of some comfort if someone in Congress went to the floor and told peoples of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and the rest to stay the hell home.

So long as all of the government remains complicit or silent, this is nothing less than an unopposed invasion – an unopposed war, in other words, even if waged by the most unconventional means and by the most unlikely and unarmed “soldiers.” Worst of all, though, it is a war that is being encouraged, if not led, by our own president while no one with all of the appropriate constitutional powers vested in him is doing anything to stop him.

For love of country, impeach Obama now.

CONGRESSMAN: WHY ‘A MILLION BORDER GUARDS’ WOULDN’T HELP ‘There are many U.S. cities that have a higher murder rate than Guatemala’

ALTHOUGH President Obama famously said he wouldn’t go to the Mexico-Texas border because he didn’t want to do a “photo-op,” a Texas congressman who recently returned from the border said the right presidential photoop could actually solve the humanitarian crisis there – and stop the flood of illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, said the head of the border guard union told him, “If President Obama stood by an airplane and returned the people to Guatemala, that, overnight, would stop the flow.”

The numbers are astounding.

An estimated 290,000 illegal immigrants, including 52,000 unac- Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas companied children, have crossed the border illegally in the Rio Grande Valley to cities around the county just in recent months, according to the New York Times.

“There are more people coming across the border than we sent to invade France in World War II,” marveled Stockman.

“That is an invasion of our nation, and most of them are coming into Texas. We need to take quick action.”

Stockman and Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, were the first members of Congress to gain access inside one of the overcrowded border facilities where immigrants have been

detained. The lawmakers arrived as the detainees were served lunch: a burrito, apple and water.

“I think the most shocking thing I saw was kids giving themselves up to the border guards. I had thought more border guards would help, but not at all.”

The congressman said even if there were “a million” border guards, it wouldn’t help, because the immigrants “were not running from us, they were running to the guards.”

Since refugees are usually running from something rather than toward something, Whistleblower asked: Were these immigrants refugees, as Democrats have claimed?

“No, there are many U.S. cities that have a higher murder rate than Guatemala,” Stockman observed, adding, “Does that mean we’re going to get refugees from Chicago?”

With Obama apparently unwilling to stop what Stockman called an invasion, Whistleblower asked him what Congress could do to stem the sudden surge of immigrants, especially those from Central America.

The congressman noted that the U.S. faced a similar crisis in 2005 when a large number of immigrants from Brazil started streaming into the country, but President George W. Bush solved the problem and deported them by using one of Obama’s favorite tools, the executive order.

Stockman said it would be much more humane to stop the flow than to allow it to continue, with so many left vulnerable to kidnapping, rape and murder during 30-day, thousand-mile-long trips.

“We need to return the families back home so we send a message, ‘You come up here, you’re going to be sent home quickly.’”

Why not build the fence right now?

The Texan noted Congress has already allocated money for the fence, but no one has built it.

“Now, the president says the fence won’t work. I would challenge him to remove the fence from around the White House, if it doesn’t work. Fences work. It works in Israel. It would work here.”

If the president will neither build the fence nor deport the illegal immigrants, what can Congress do to stem the tide?

Stockman senses the president wants to make a deal.

He said the House won’t agree to the $3.7 billion Obama wants to put the underage immigrants through a long legal process, but it will fund emergency priorities.

“I don’t think House Republicans want to fund a bunch of trial attorneys so they can give contributions to his coffers. The money should be directed at building a wall, completing a wall and helping the children directly, in terms of food and aid.”

He also believes Congress could modify a 2008 law that was designed to protect minors from Central America from falling prey to sex-traffickers by allowing them to stay in the country during a lengthy legal process involving hearings before immigration judges. Stockman said that law, ironically and sadly, has backfired, by luring unaccompanied and unprotected minors onto American streets.

However, Stockman added, it wasn’t really the 2008 law that triggered the sudden flow of minor immigrants; it was Obama’s decision, after Congress refused to pass the DREAM Act, to unilaterally implement the bill’s key provision and not deport minors in the country illegally.

“Look at the numbers,” he said. “As soon as Obama announced the DREAM Act, the numbers shot through the roof.”

THE OBAMANATION EXPLAINED

How all the ‘senseless’ things this president does actually do make sense

THE question has been asked many times over the last five years: What is Barack Obama doing?

Why is he inviting massive numbers of illegal aliens, including children, to risk their lives to swarm our southern border?

Why has he created a national health-care system that is unsustainable economically in the long term and is creating crisis in the short term?

Why is he turning down the opportunity to buy oil from our neighbor to the north and forcing Canada to sell it to China instead?

In short, why is he doing so much of what he is doing that seems not to make a lot of sense to the American people?

The shocking answer is that they do make sense in a perverted, un-American paradigm – one I have tried to bring to the attention of the American people for many years. The purpose is to increase misery and manufacture crises.

I first explained this at the nationally televised Tea Party National Convention in February 2010. But here’s the explanation in a nutshell. It’s an old trick really, one that was actually codified by a Marxist Columbia Uni-

versity professor and his research assistant in an article in The Nation May 2, 1966 – when Barack Obama was only four years old. The professor of social work was Richard A. Cloward, and his research assistant was Frances Fox Piven. What they authored became known as “the Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis.”

Cloward and Piven specifically calculated their strategy as a way to end poverty by bringing the capitalist system to collapse through a series of escalating demands that could never be met.

One of their principal demands was the establishment of a “guaranteed annual income.” Just six years later, this demand became a part of the platform of the 1972 Democratic National Convention and the presidential nominee that year, George McGovern.

But Cloward and Piven didn’t just argue that such ideas should become political demands. They argued that action needed to be taken by like-minded fellow travelers to wreak havoc on the system. One way that was to be accomplished, they explained in their treatise, was for social workers to sign up the poor in existing social programs at such levels as to tax the system to the breaking point. When these entitlements were no longer able to be covered by government agencies, the new dependent class would riot and rebel and create chaos that would create a real crisis for the system.

An example of the way this Cloward-Piven strategy worked quickly followed when it was actually implemented by George Wiley, the founder of the National Welfare Reform Organization. In the early 1970s, Wiley’s NWRO hired “social workers” with the express purpose of expanding the welfare rolls as fast as possible. The strategy was so effective that welfare recipients went from 4.3 million nationally to 10.8 million by the middle of the decade. In New York City, there was soon one welfare recipient for every two residents working in the city’s private sector.

James Simpson, a former White House staff economist and budget analyst, says “the vast expansion of welfare in New York City that came from NWRO’s Cloward-Piven strategy sent the city into bankruptcy in 1975.”

Remember the famous New York Daily News headline? “Ford to City: Drop Dead.” President Gerald Ford was between a rock and a hard place because of the Cloward-Piven strategy and the organizational activities of George Wiley.

But that was hardly the greatest claim to fame for Cloward and Piven.

While George Wiley was a disciple of Cloward and Piven, Wade Rathke was a disciple of Wiley. In 1970, after working for NWRO, he formed a new organization – the Arkansas Community Organizations for Wade Rathke Reform Now. It became known as ACORN. The name was later changed to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, but the acronym remained.

This was the organization Barack Obama would serve as an attorney and as a trainer of its leadership.

ACORN wasn’t just about registering Democratic voters. It was about registering so many that it created a crisis in the system – the same way Wiley created a crisis in the welfare rolls. Fraudulent voters were just as good as legitimate voters.

Where did the money come from for such abuses?

ACORN was heavily funded by George Soros’ Open Society Institute.

Did it work?

You bet. The idea behind ACORN’s voter registration campaign, which continues to this day, even benefiting now from direct federal taxpayer support, was to register as many Democratic voters as possible, legal or not, and assist them in voting – the more times the merrier. The system had to be overwhelmed with registrations, multiple entries, dead voters, random names, contrived names.

When it all became impossible to police, the lobbying for minimal identification standards for voters would begin.

And that’s where we are today with the push for universal voting. Everybody votes. Nobody can be denied.

Identification should not be required. It would be discrimination to ask people for ID to vote.

Just 22 years ago, Obama headed the Chicago operations of Project Vote!, an ACORN affiliate. Obama boasts in his autobiography about how successful he was at registering voters on Chicago’s South Side.

He was so successful, he was elected president in 2008.

Today, Obama is still employing the Cloward-Piven strategy, but not as a community organizer. Today he is the Community Organizer in Chief.

He’s still creating crises as a means of empowerment.

He does it in domestic policy. He does it in foreign policy. He even uses the military to create crises.

Think about it: With Obama, everything is a crisis – carbon dioxide levels, the banking industry, the automobile industry, the health-care system and especially the economy. The idea is not to alleviate crises, it’s to exacerbate them. Even if they are not real crises, they can be used to impose new draconian actions that will put more stress on the economy and empower government to the max.

The goal remains the same as when it was first outlined in 1966. It is, as the Marxists of the 1960s and early 1970s explained, to “heighten the contradictions of capitalism,” bring the system to its knees and, ultimately, collapse.

Do I exaggerate?

I don’t think so.

It’s the only paradigm that makes sense given the policies of the Obama administration and the Democratic Senate. They are following a deliberate course to destroy the American free-enterprise system, your freedom and the American way of life.

HOW OBAMA CREATED THE BORDER CRISIS He was up for re-election, the law didn’t poll well with Hispanic voters, so he illegally changed it

PRESIDENT Barack Obama has urged Congress to appropriate $4 billion to deal with the flood of children from Central America – and others from parts unknown – crossing the border into Texas.

Obama called this mess “an urgent humanitarian situation,” but what he did not do is take responsibility for almost single-handedly causing this mess two years prior.

In 2012, he decided not to enforce many perfectly valid immigration laws because they did not poll well among Hispanic voters. It would get no deeper than that.

Since year one of the Bush administration, Congress had been trying to pass the awkwardly titled Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, better known as the DREAM Act. This was an idealized acronym concocted to paper over what was essentially a geopolitical B&E, breaking and entering. Democrat Dick Durbin and Republican Orrin Hatch first introduced the bill in the Senate in August 2001.

In a nutshell, this bill would have provided permanent residency to those illegal aliens who had arrived in the United States as minors and behaved themselves well enough not to get their mug shot plastered on the Post Office wall.

Although President Bush supported immigration reform, as did President Obama, neither the DREAM Act nor any major immigration bill made it to their desks. The reason was simple enough: No variation of such a bill could muster adequate congressional support.

In 2009, eight powerful U.S. senators, including two Republicans, sponsored still another version of the DREAM Act. During this two-year period, Democrats controlled 22 whistleblower August 2014

both houses of Congress. Still, the will was not there, nor was the White House leadership, to pass this bill out of the Senate.

The reader might recall that in his 2006 book, “The Audacity of Hope,” Obama praised “the rejection of absolutism implicit in our constitutional structure.”

As he and/or his ghostwriter argued, the system of checks and balances “encouraged the very process of information gathering, analysis, and argument that allows us to make better, if not perfect, choices, not only about the means to our ends but also about the ends themselves.”

But once Obama ascended to the presidency, all those checks and balances just made it harder for him to transform America. His constituencies wanted action, not gathering and arguing.

They started leaning on him to ignore Congress and act unilaterally. One minor obstacle stood in the way, and that was Article I, Section 7, of the Constitution.

For the previous 220 years – “400 years” according to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee – that article informed Congress in some detail on how to turn an idea into a law.

Obama could not enforce the DREAM Act, said constitutional scholar Nicholas Rosenkrantz at a House Judiciary Committee meeting, “by pretending that it passed when it did not.”

As late as March 2011, legal scholar Obama seemed to agree: “America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law,” he told a Univision audience.

But by June 2012, what Obama said in March 2011 seemed as stale as a morning-after bowl of tortilla chips. The

president had lost his taste for all that legislative analysis and argument given that the result was “an absence of any immigration action from Congress.”

Five months before the presidential election he knew the media would give him a pass, and he hoped that Latinos would give him their votes.

So he decided to dispense with debate and fix immigration policy by his own lights, confident he could make that policy “more fair, more efficient and more just.”

This fix started with a presidentially guaranteed relief from deportation for the so-called “Dreamers.” On top of that came the right to apply for work authorization – both guarantees in full defiance of existing federal law.

“There has long been a general consensus that a president cannot refuse to enforce a law that is considered constitutionally sound,” said liberal legal scholar Jonathan Turley, also at a House Judiciary Committee meeting.

Not surprisingly, the premise on which Obama proposed to relax enforcement was fundamentally false. He boasted that by “putting more boots on the southern border than at any time in our history,” he was able to reduce illegal crossings to the lowest level the past 40 years.

Yes, there were fewer border crossings than in the past.

In fact, the number had fallen since 2005, but that had almost nothing to do with prioritized security and almost everything to do with what Pew Research described as “weakened U.S. job and construction markets.”

Then on Aug. 23, 2013, in a move the major media barely noticed, the Obama administration subtly expanded the list of those who would be excluded from deportation.

Deep in a nine-page memo from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters to its field offices was an order that “prosecutorial discretion” be shown to parents or guardians of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents, aka “Dreamers.”

Said Turley, “In ordering this blanket exception, President Obama was nullifying part of a law that he simply disagreed with. There is no claim of unconstitutionality.”

Added Rosenkrantz, “Exempting as many as 1.76 million people from the immigration laws goes far beyond any traditional conception of prosecutorial discretion.”

What troubled Turley even more was the willingness of so many participants in this debate to accept Obama’s “transparent effort to rewrite the immigration law.”

This included Dick Durbin, who co-authored the original DREAM Act. “Because the House has refused to consider the DREAM Act and a filibuster blocked it in the Senate,” said Durbin as casually as if he were the senator from Swaziland, “this presidential action was absolutely necessary to serve the cause of justice.”

When the word filtered down to Central America that young people could transform themselves through one magical train ride from impoverished street kids to American Dreamers, they came by the thousands.

And all Obama had to do was pretend to be surprised.

TO observe the decades-long paralysis of Amer-

ica’s political elite in controlling her borders calls to mind the insight of James Burnham in 1964 – “Liberalism is the ideology of Western suicide.”

What the ex-Trotskyite turned Cold Warrior meant was that by faithfully following the tenets of liberalism, the West would embrace suicidal policies that would bring about the death of her civilization.

The crisis on our Southern border, where the left, and not only the left, is wailing that we cannot turn away desperate people fleeing wicked regimes and remain true to our liberal values, is a case in point.

To assert that we cannot take all these people in, that we must send them back and seal our border for our survival, is to be called a variety of names – racist, xenophobe, nativist – all of which translate into “illiberal.”

But as we continue our descent to Third World status, perhaps we should explore more deeply the “diversity” that has of late come to be regarded as America’s most treasured attribute.

In 1960, we were not nearly so diverse. Nine in 10 Americans professed a Christian faith. Nine in 10 Americans traced their ancestry back to Europe. E Pluribus Unum. We were one nation and one people.

Since then, we have become the Brazil of North America, a multiracial, multilingual, multiethnic, multicultural “universal nation” unlike any that has existed in the history of the West.

And if we look abroad at those Western nations traveling along this perilous path with us, we can see clearly now our future.

Before the 1960s, Europe never knew mass immigration. And after the terrible ethnic cleansing of Germans after World War II, most of Europe’s nations were ethnically homogeneous.

Several were not. Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, the USSR. At the end of the Cold War, with freedom, all three came apart. Where we had three nations, suddenly we had 24 and such sub-nations as South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria.

Now Scots are seeking to break away from England, Catalans from Spain, Corsicans from France, Venetians from Italy and Flemish from Belgium, though these peoples have lived together for centuries.

Crimeans have gone back to Russia, while Chechens and other peoples of the Caucasus are fighting to break free of Russia.

The roots of these secessionist movements may be traced to economics, ethnicity, history, religion, language, culture and borders.

Then there are the rising millions of Muslims in Europe who are not assimilating, as Catholic Irish and Catholic Germans did in a Protestant USA, but are replicating within the West the countries and cultures whence they came. They are separating themselves, by ethnicity, culture and faith, from the Western societies into which they have migrated.

Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Dominicans, Somalis and Arabs in America also build replicas of the countries and cultures whence they came. Thus, we take on the aspect of an empire. And empires fall apart.

The melting pot, rejected by our elites as an instrument of nativist bigots, is history.

Libya, Syria and Iraq are coming apart, as did Sudan and Ethiopia. The Kurds seek to carve a nation out of Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. A Sunni-Shia sectarian war impends.

Disintegration, separatism and secessionism, for racial, religious and cultural causes, are a phenomenon common now to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Are we somehow immune?

The world is boiling with racial, tribal, cultural and moral conflict. People carry in their hearts the seeds of these conflicts. The notion that they will come here and be converted into Ozzie-andHarriet Americans may be a bit utopian.

America is becoming a microcosm of a world on fire.

Why are we doing this? Why are we inviting the world into the USA? Was there some grievous flaw in the America of Ike and JFK that must be expunged? Some sin for which we must do penance?

What is coming is predictable, and has been predicted.

By 2042, Americans of European ancestry will be a minority in a country built by Europeans. “Anglos” are now a minority in California, New Mexico and Texas. Hispanics will soon be the majority in all four border states with Mexico.

And should Hispanics decide not to give their electoral votes to any presidential candidate who does not promise to erase the border with Latin America, that would mean the end of the United States as we know it.

Americans are already deep in a culture war over morality – marijuana, abortion, same-sex marriage.

We are already racially polarized over affirmative action and income inequality.

DOCTORS: BORDER CRISIS MEANS ‘HEALTH CATASTROPHE’ It’s not about politics, they warn, but rather a looming medical emergency

IT’S time to stop looking at the flood of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. border as a political issue, warn several medical doctors, but rather as a serious medical issue that threatens to erupt into an emergency room “catastrophe.”

Jane Orient, M.D., an internal medicine specialist and executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, delivered the sobering prognosis to WND's Aaron Klein on his popular radio show, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.”

“This really should not be a politi- Jane Orient, M.D. cal issue, but rather a public health and humanitarian issue,” Orient said. “We already have overburdened emergency rooms, we already have a serious shortage of intravenous solutions for rehydrating people, so, you know, when you’re importing, say, up to 100,000 people who are susceptible to something like [tuberculosis or norovirus], it affects not only those children, but anyone they come in contact with.”

As many as 90,000 children, many smuggled in by human traffickers without their parents, are expected to cross the southern U.S. border illegally by September 2014, according to the U.S. Border Patrol, but the official estimates are constantly being revised upwards.

Multiple health experts are warning that the tens of thousands of immigrants entering the nation without health screenings or vaccinations, potentially carrying dis-

eases largely stamped out or unknown in the U.S., is becoming a medical crisis.

After discussing the dangers of tuberculosis, norovirus and the measles, Klein asked Orient if an outbreak or epidemic in the U.S. is inevitable.

“We could very easily have a big public health catastrophe,” Orient responded. “This could really put a huge burden on our public health facilities as well as just our emergency rooms for treating common diseases.”

“Tuberculosis is the single most dangerous disease because it is highly contagious and can be easily picked up at the mall, at a school, or on the bus,” Orient told Breitbart News. “Cases coming from south of the U.S. border can be very resistant to medications. They don’t respond to traditional antibiotics, and the few drugs they may respond to are often toxic, with lots of side effects.

“Legal immigrants have always been required to undergo health screenings,” Orient added, “but these kids coming have no medical screenings and no vaccine records.

They’re likely coming here with a number of infectious diseases that will spread like wildfire.

“Norovirus is also an extremely contagious virus with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea,” she explained.

“All we need is one outbreak of that virus and we would have an overwhelming public health crisis.”

Gingrey, a 30-year practicing physician, said the threat posed to American families is very real.

“There is a logistical nightmare these scarce diseases impose on the medical community,” he said. “The White House must stop neglecting the consequences of its reckless, open-border policies and protect the health and safety of our citizens – not to mention the security of our nation.”

Elizabeth Lee Vliet, M.D., has sounded the alarm over a public health emergency brewing in south Texas and Arizona border communities.

“A public health crisis, the likes of which I have not seen in my lifetime, is looming,” she warned. “Hardest hit by exposures to these difficult-to-treat diseases will be elderly, children, immuno-suppressed cancer patients, patients with chronic lung disease or congestive heart failure. Drug-resistant tuberculosis is the most serious risk, but even diseases like measles can cause severe complications and death in older or immunocompromised patients.

“TB is highly contagious – you catch it anywhere around infected people: schools, malls, buses, etc. The drug-resistant TB now coming across our borders requires a complex, extremely expensive treatment regimen that has serious side effects and a low cure rate.”

Chagas, or “kissing bug” disease, caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, is carried by the triatomine bug that transmits disease to humans, Vliet said. Although “kissing bugs” are already here, they are not as widespread as in Latin America. Right now, Chagas disease is uncommon in the U.S., so many doctors do not think to check for it.

Furthermore, Texas public health officials have confirmed that a new wave of dengue fever has cropped up in the southernmost tip of Texas, marking the first outbreak the state has seen since 2005, according to reports in Scientific American. Texas public health officials announced the same area that saw an outbreak almost a decade ago now has 18 confirmed cases of the disease. Seven are believed to have been locally acquired (rather than contracted when traveling to a dengue-endemic region), according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. The dengue outbreak in southern Texas’s Cameron County and neighboring Hidalgo County comes after there had been an uptick in cases directly across the Texas-Mexico border in Tamaulipas over the last couple of months.

The border area of Texas has also seen an uptick in the number of dengue fever cases since late last year. In the last decade, Cameron County, Texas, has seen 27 cases, so the 14 recent occurrences in that county is significantly higher than normal, according to reports from Texas public health officials.

South Texas has a greater incidence of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, listeriosis and dengue fever than other parts of the state. The border area, with large population centers and multiple border crossings, make the prevalence of TB higher than in other regions of the state or the country, according to the CDC. South Texas had a higher rate of active TB disease during 2001-05, with 8.6 persons per 100,000 population, than the rest of the state, according to CDC statistics. Of the 13 Texas counties with the highest incidence of TB, seven are located in South Texas.

These counties have more than twice the state average rate of TB. Webb County alone had a TB rate of 19 persons per 100,000 population in 2001-2005.

In an effort to address the high incidence of TB along the Texas-Mexico border, the Grupo Sin Fronteras TB Binational Project was established in 1995 by the commissioners of health for Texas and the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The program provides medical consultations and education on the transmission, prevention and treatment of TB. Successes of the program include the identification of high rates of drugresistant TB in Mexico.

IMMIGRANTS’ Shocking study: 100% of job AMERICAN-BORN workers have had a net loss in jobs since 2000, while all of the job growth since then has gone to immigrants, according to a remarkable new study by the Center for Immigration Studies. This revelation comes as some Republican politicians continue to flirt with amnesty and the disastrous proposal of so-called “immigration reform.”

Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll proves that the American public is increasingly fed up with the high levels of immigration flooding our job market and our nation. By nearly a 2-to-1 margin, Americans want less immigration now, rather than more: 41 percent would like to see a decrease in immigration, while only 22 percent want to see immigration increase.

Among the 22 percent who want to expand immigration are Democrats who view illegal immigrants as a way of expanding their party’s political base. But that shortsighted political motivation is certainly not good for our country, and it is devastating for the dwindling job opportunities available to Americans.

In 2000, 114.8 million Americans who were born in the United States had jobs here. Nearly a decade and a half later, in 2014, that total had decreased to 114.7 million, and millions of Americans have been unemployed for many years.

Millions of new jobs were created during that same period in the United States, but immigrant workers soaked up all that job growth. There was a net gain of 5.7 million in immigrant jobs during those 14 years, from 17.1 million in 2000 to 22.8 million in 2014, but the overall net effect was that 100 percent of the job growth went to immigrants and 0 percent went to workers born in the USA. Despite the scandal of so few jobs for Americans, the legislation pushed by Democrats for so-called immigration “reform” would vastly expand job opportunities for immigrants at the expense of American-born workers. The Senate’s misguided “Gang of Eight” bill would sharply increase the numbers of legal and illegal immigrants in our country, far above the 40 million who are already here, plus adding an incentive for many more to enter our nation illegally.

Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama has been a leader against expanding immigration under the guise of the phony “immigration reform,” and he persuasively explains how hurtful unrelenting immigration is for our nation and especially for U.S. workers. He observed that the recent findings in this report by the Center for Immigration Studies “are shocking, and represent a dramatic indictment of immigration policy in Washington, D.C.” In the last presidential election, Mitt Romney lost because he failed to attract the support of millions of working-class Americans who have been hit the hardest by the harmful consequences of liberal demands for more and more immigration. Sen. Sessions wisely advises Republican leadership to “sever themselves from these demands and present themselves to the American public as the one party focused on everyday working people.”

Sessions is obviously right in counseling that “the sensible, conservative, fair thing to do after 40 years of record immigration is to slow down, allow assimilation to occur, allow wages to rise, and to help workers of all backgrounds rise together into the middle class.” Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor was defeated in a landslide in his own primary after failing to heed this advice; will other Republican leaders finally get the message?

Meanwhile, the Democrats’ and media demands for “immigration reform” have had another devastating effect on our nation: attracting a projected 100,000 children to cross our Mexican border illegally in this year alone, and bringing with them contagious diseases that could “spread like wildfire,” according to Jane Orient, M.D. “Legal immigrants have always been required to undergo health screenings,” Dr. Orient explained, “but these kids coming have no medical screenings and no vaccine records.”

The doctor observed that many childhood diseases have been largely and wonderfully eradicated from our country, but that leaves Americans without natural immunity to them. If they are brought into this country by unlawful immigration, then they can spread quickly, and young doctors who have never seen some of these diseases may be slow to recognize them.

Noroviruses are highly contagious infections which carry symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting. “All we need is one outbreak of that virus and we would have an overwhelming public health crisis,” Dr. Orient warned.

RELIGIOUS CHARITIES PROFIT Watchdogs ask: ‘Is it charity if the government pays?’

THOUSANDS of Central American children crossing the border illegally could soon turn into asylum seekers armed with immigration lawyers provided by church groups and paid for by federal tax dollars.

Catholic Charities USA and other religious groups have been working behind the scenes with the federal government to temporarily house and resettle the children in dozens of communities across the United States.

Although Catholic Charities is running a fundraising campaign to help finance the resettlement of the illegal aliens, the religious charities get the bulk of their funding not from private donors or church members putting checks into a basket. They get it from the federal government.

Alexandria, Va.-based Catholic Charities USA reported receiving $1.7 million in government grants in 2012, according to its IRS Form 990.

But one of the largest recipients of government funds to resettle immigrant children is the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The USCCB helps resettle not only unaccompanied alien children, or UACs, who enter the country illegally but also refugees fleeing persecution overseas who enter through legal channels.

The USCCB is one of nine agencies that receive hundreds of millions in tax dollars to resettle refugees and asylum seekers in the U.S. under contract with the federal government. Six of the nine contractors are religious groups, including the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the Church World Service and World Relief Corp., which includes a plethora of evangelical groups.

The Catholic Bishops alone received $65.9 million in federal grants to care for unaccompanied alien children and refugees, according to its 2012 annual report.

By contrast, the group raised $1.4 million from its own church members while federal loans and private-sec-

tor grants made up the remainder of the $71 million spent on the resettlements that year. That means 93 percent of the USCCB’s spending on charity work with UACs and refugees was covered by the American taxpayer.

Kevin Appleby, director of USCC’s Migration and Refugee Services Office, did not respond to calls and emails from Whistleblower seeking comment.

Similar funding ratios have been found to be the norm with the Lutheran effort.

The Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service reported total income of $41.7 million in 2012, and government grants accounted for $40.4 million, or 96.8 percent of that amount, according to the nonprofit’s most recently reported Form 990, a disclosure that nonprofits must file with the Internal Revenue Service. The group raised only $1.3 million from private donors.

Miji Bell, press spokeswoman for Lutheran Immigration, also did not return calls before publication.

The money for refugees and asylum seekers may not even include the federal money funneled to Catholic Charities USA and other religious groups to resettle illegal border crossers coming into Texas, Arizona or New Mexico who arrive by themselves. The charities often subcontract with other charities, making it difficult to track the money.

The numbers of UACs coming through the Southern border have increased dramatically since 2009, and so have the costs, according to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which operates within the Department of Health and Human Services.

Eight years ago, the program averaged 6,775 referrals a year. In fiscal 2013 the number reached 24,668. Now, the agency is expecting 60,000 referrals in 2014 at a cost to the U.S. government of more than $750 million, up from less than $500 million in 2013 and less than $250 million in 2009.

The University of Texas at El Paso’s National Center for Border Security and Immigration conducted a study published in March in which it laid bare the major cause of the problem – exploitation of weak border enforcement policies by the U.S. “Both Border Patrol and ICE ERO officers agreed that the lack of deterrence for crossing the U.S.-Mexican border has impacted the rate at which they apprehend UACs. Officers are certain that UACs are aware of the relative

lack of consequences they will receive when apprehended at the U.S. border,” the authors wrote on page 3 of the UTEP study. “UTEP was informed that smugglers of family members of UACs understand that once a UAC is apprehended for illegal entry into the United States, the individual will be re-united with a U.S. based family member pending the disposition of the immigration hearing.

This process appears to be exploited by illegal alien smugglers and family members in the United States who wish to reunite with separated children.”

How many of the Central American children will seek asylum is not clear at this point. The United Nations is considering granting some type of legal status to children in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras who can show evidence of being persecuted. An asylum seeker differs from a refugee in that the person comes into the U.S. on his own, often crossing the border illegally, and then seeks to gain asylum through legal channels.

Included in President Obama’s $3.7 billion emergency aid package for dealing with the border crisis is $1.1 million for immigration lawyers to represent the illegal alien children. Another $1.8 billion would go toward resettling the children as opposed to deporting them.

Don Barnett, a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, said he would like to see the feds rein in the grants and loans to charities that resettle refugees and UACs seeking asylum.

The federal government gives out not only grants but loans, and the nonprofit charities are able to pocket 25 percent of whatever they collect on those loans, Barnett explained. He said many of the loans are made to refugees or UACs for travel purposes.

“They actually hire collection agents to get the money back from the refugees,” he said. “It’s very profitable for the nonprofits, really quite profitable, and it has introduced perverse incentives into the whole process, into CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

decision making and policy,” he said. “It totally disincentivizes rational thinking.”

These same religious charities can also be found lobbying Congress and the Obama administration for amnesty legislation and other policies that immigration watchdogs see as encouraging more illegal immigrants to cross the border.

On July 2 the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a letter to Obama urging him not to send any of the unaccompanied children who had illegally crossed into the U.S. back to their home countries.

“Current law permits children from non-contiguous countries to remain in the country until their request for asylum or immigration relief is considered by an immigration judge,” said Eusebio Elizondo, auxiliary bishop of Seattle and chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration. “This is a very vulnerable population which has been targeted by organized crime networks in Central America. To return them to these criminal elements without a proper adjudication of their cases is unconscionable.”

And in 2011, the Catholic Bishops advocated for passage of the DREAM Act, which would provide permanent legal status – some call it amnesty – to young people under 35 brought into the U.S. illegally by their parents if they had been here in the country since the age of 16 or younger, provided they had completed two years of college or military service.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST? Dan Cadman, with the Center for Immigration Studies, says it’s a conflict of interest for a group that benefits financially from immigration – both legal and illegal – to try to influence immigration policy.

“It bothers me that any private organization is using a government funding stream for that purpose, not only Catholic Charities but Lutheran World Service, the Episcopal Church, they’ve all got their hands in the pie,” Cadman said. “The thing is that everyone understands that, with a wink and a nod, this so-called emergency money (from Obama) is not going to result in any substantial number of individuals being deported. It’s just not. How

ironic to see an emergency budget supplemental request and then when you look at the details you see it’s all going to be chewed up for things like brick and mortar buildings for resettlement and not used in any useful way to stop this tidal wave of human beings.”

Cadman said there is “no doubt in my mind” that the religious NGOs or “non-governmental organizations” are working with the United Nations to get the children qualified as refugees or asylum seekers.

“The religious charities have had a hand in that,” he said. “There’s no doubt in my mind they are looking to afford people status in any way, shape or form because the end game is to not get them sent back to their country of origin.”

CHILDREN DON’T QUALIFY AS REFUGEES Frank Head Jr., director of Immigration Services for Catholic Charities of Arkansas, said the Central American children would not qualify as refugees under the current United Nations definition, but it’s not out of the question that a special legal status could be created for the children.

“There’s no easy pat answer to that,” he told Whistleblower. “They will not get refugee status. That’s never been the case. There is a special set of regulations for children not accompanied by parents, but no immediate status.

They get put into a special adjudication system. They never get called ‘refugees’ but there is a category, a process where a juvenile who is basically an orphan with no family to claim them could get a certain status (as an asylum seeker) after a lengthy court battle.”

That court battle could be fought with federally funded lawyers, a development even more likely if Obama’s $3.7 billion in emergency aid gets passed by Congress.

“The actual answer, everyone wants to know [about the status], but the Obama administration has proposed a new set of regulations and $3.7 billion to fund it,” Head said. “A juvenile, aside from the fact that they get special treatment if caught, and only in recent years have they been afforded that special status – they used to get thrown into adult jails – they now get treated as a juvenile. But there isn’t any immediate status. Definitely there [are] intensive meetings going on to possibly create some new sta-

tus because the current refugee law doesn’t apply. They couldn’t qualify.”

That’s because a refuge by definition is someone who has been pre-screened by the U.N. and then allowed to legally enter a host country.

“But these kids for the most part don’t qualify as refugees because you have to be part of a designated group facing political or religious persecution, but these are just kids fleeing from violence. They’re not running off all right-wing children or all left-wing children or governmentinclined children,” Head said. “It’s not a religious sect, it’s not a political group, so they wouldn’t qualify for asylum status and so you would ultimately just ship them back

and that’s what a lot of people want to do. You have a pretty good idea who that is.”

Head said he doesn’t expect the Obama package to pass the Republican-dominated House.

Pursuing the U.N.’s channels would be a totally separate approach.

“That would have to be for people who hadn’t entered the country yet,” Head said. “The U.N. would have to set up an office in say Guatemala or El Salvador and you could come there, make a case and possibly get refugee status and get a safe place to come. Even if the U.N. approves you it doesn’t mean the U.S. will let you in. But if someone’s already here you have to apply for asylum status.”

He said the U.S. lets in 75,000 to 85,000 foreign refugees a year. “And at any given time there’s several million in the world.”

This is separate from the unaccompanied alien children who illegally cross the border and offer themselves up to be apprehended by Border Patrol agents then get turned over the Health and Human Services and given a piece of paper ordering them to appear at a deportation hearing two to three years down the road.

COMING OUT OF THE SHADOWS Many of the charities doing the resettlement work for the government try to keep a low profile to avoid upsetting the host community. But with the recent surge of illegals at the border and the media attention it has attracted, it’s getting more difficult to keep their resettlement work under the radar.

In fact, the border surge is creating a corresponding surge in opposition from citizen activist groups. A coalition of 11 activist groups organized two days of protest rallies on July 18 and 19 across the United States on highway overpasses, state capitols and Mexican consulates.

There have been reports of angry residents showing up at city council meetings in some cities where illegals have been resettled. In Vassar, Michigan, 50 people marched on city hall July 14 in protest of a plan to house a group of Central American boys ages 12 to 17 in their city. Some carried AR-15 rifles and “Don’t Tread on Me” flags, reported a local newspaper.

Other cities are taking a more proactive approach, passing ordinances forbidding any resettlements of illegals in their communities.

LEFTISTS have long been using “the children” to manipulate the emotions of the public, extort American taxpayers, gather power and degrade our way of life. But Barack Obama has taken this process to an insane extreme with his self-created border mess.

According to the Obama administration, more than 90,000 unaccompanied alien children and teens are expected to cross the Southwest border into the U.S. by September. Obama has proposed $3.73 billion in emergency spending to “help” the children.

We’ve heard numerous liberals justify every assault on our liberties with the stupid mantra, “It’s for the children!” and “If we could save just one child!” But it should now be clear that Obama’s crisis at our southern border – where unaccompanied alien children have been lured by loose immigration policies, sent through Mexico and abused in every way imaginable by coyotes and criminal cartels – has nothing to do with concern for children.

In Brooks County, Texas, 37 dead illegal aliens were recovered this year; some were children. Last year in the same area, the Border Patrol documented 445 deaths of illegal aliens coming to the United States, the third-highest number since 1998. Obama’s lawless actions – sidestepping Congress with executive orders which halted the deportation of illegal alien minors – are to blame for the deaths of hundreds of children.

Obama used blacks to get elected and then discarded them. Now he’s doing the same to Hispanics – using the chaos at the border to attack Republicans and advance his warped agenda.

Obama’s dereliction of duty is causing Americans to be victimized by illegal-alien criminals. More than 624,000 crimes (murders, rapes and home invasions) have been committed by illegals against Texas citizens alone in the last seven years.

Liberals use Christianity to promote lawlessness, but they want no part of the faith when Christians call for an end to the slaughter of millions of babies in the womb.

Obama is ruining communities in every way imaginable. According to border agents in Laredo, Texas, illegal immigrants from Central America are coming in with tuberculosis, scabies (a flesh-eating mite), lice, chicken pox and venereal diseases. A Border Patrol agent has been hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia, which the agent contracted while processing illegals. Obama is putting children – the most vulnerable among us – at risk of catching diseases. Where is his humanity?

The Department of Homeland Security recently brought nearly 750 alien minors, ages 14-17, to Chicago.

With 82 people shot and 15 killed over the July 4 weekend and black unemployment at double the national average, the last thing Chicago needs is an influx of unscreened illegals! As I said, Obama and Mayor Rahm Emanuel used blacks to get elected, and now they’re expendable.

When black Houston resident Bernadette Lancelin heard about Obama’s plan to send some of these illegal alien kids to her community, she was outraged: “What about the kids here? In our neighborhood? In our country? All these [illegal] kids? Why can’t they go back? … I care about what’s going on right here in my own backyard, my neighborhood. …”

I couldn’t agree more.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, head of the ruthless terror group ISIS, reportedly warned our troops after he was released from an Iraqi prison in 2009: “I’ll see you guys in New York.” ICE reports that the number of apprehensions of people illegally entering the U.S. from countries “other than Mexico” has increased from 71,257 in 2012 to 90,461 in 2013 (a 27 percent increase). Leaving the borders open is an invitation to terrorists to attack us again.

It’s like a father leaving his door open at night with his children inside in a crime-infested neighborhood.

This president has been treating the American people like children by telling us sweet-sounding lies while trampling our freedoms. Meanwhile, we act like children, passively accepting what we’re told. It’s time to grow up.

Since Obama and weak RINO Republicans won’t stop the chaos at the border, what can we do?

We can support border governors like Rick Perry of Texas, who talks as if he wants to stop the invasion. How? He is not waiting on Obama. He has called up the Texas State National Guard.

If having to foot the bill is a problem for Governor Perry, I’m sure Americans across the country would be more than happy to get behind an effort to fund Texas’ efforts to seal the border. We could even call the effort, “Americans doing the job that Obama won’t do.”

Now that sounds like Americans acting like adults again.

NEW OBAMA RULE COULD FORCE CITIES TO HOUSE ILLEGALS ‘Regulation fits perfectly in line with promise to transform America’

THE Obama administration, in July 2013, quietly introduced a new regulation that critics say will dramatically increase Washington’s power over local zoning laws in every city and town that accepts federal block grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

And those federal grants could be used as a hook in the nose of these cities, forcing them to house illegal immigrants against their will.

The proposed rule, which is set to take effect in October, would put teeth on the Fair Housing Act of 1968 by providing a set of standards, guidelines and goals, then use data to “measure” and “assess” how well a local community is meeting its Fair Housing obligations.

Some say the new rule will lead to “racial quotas” and be exploited by HUD to aggressively absorb the nation’s swelling population of illegal immigrants into communities that are trying to keep them out.

HUD’s proposed “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule” showed up in the Federal Register on July 19, 2013. The rule has the backing of special-interest groups that promote open borders. One such group, with close ties to President Obama, is the Council of La Raza, which filed a public comment in favor of the rule.

La Raza said most illegal immigrants don’t know their rights and “fear deportation,” thus making them susceptible to housing discrimination.

Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., defined the proposed rule in stark terms, saying it would lead to racial quotas and amounts to an “assault on the suburbs.”

He authored an amendment passed in the House of Representatives in June that would prohibit HUD from implementing the rule. The amendment was successfully attached to the Transportation, HUD and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for the 2015 fiscal year. A version of the bill has now been introduced in the Senate by Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. But with that body controlled by Democrats, Lee faces an uphill battle.

Gosar told Whistleblower he was encouraged that Lee had taken up the challenge.

“The proposed HUD Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule is another federal government mandate forced on the American people by an ideological administration looking to design a misguided utopian vision of local communities across the country,” Gosar said.

‘FREE MONEY’ WITH A CATCH City and town councils are already starting to see HUD contracts related to block grants showing up in their agenda packets, most likely as part of the five-year consolidated plan for fair housing, which the feds require every city to adopt in order to keep getting the block grants. Many of the local councils will rubber stamp the agreements without ever knowing what’s in them, said Robert Romano, senior editor at Americans for Limited Government.

“It’s free money, right?” Romano said of HUD’s community development block grants. “Don’t consider what the strings attached are, don’t ask questions.”

He told Whistleblower that, starting in October, the rule will allow HUD “to come in and rezone an entire area” that doesn’t include enough affordable housing for a family that falls into any of HUD’s protected statuses based on race, religion or national origin.

Romano said he sees the rule as “clearly unconstitutional” because the U.S. Constitution grants no power to the federal government over local city planning or zoning matters.

“La Raza is in favor of it so it looks like a plan to move illegals into peoples’ communities, against their will,” Romano said. “It also allows [the feds] to gerrymander for political purposes. It’s a way to get around whatever Republican gerrymandering had gone on after the 2010 election cycle. If they are doing this for low-income or disadvantaged purposes, well, what does that tell you? Low income tends to vote for Democrats.”

stration, first as White House director of intergovernmental affairs and then as director of the White House Domestic Policy Council.

La Raza’s government cash boomed from $4.1 million to $11 million, according the internal documents obtained in Judicial Watch’s probe.

That type of incestuous activity is what Tom Fitton wrote about in his New York Times best-selling book, “The Corruption Chronicles.”

Fitton, president of Washington, D.C.-based Judicial Watch, said the new HUD regulation is yet another way for the Obama administration to divide communities along racial lines for its own political benefit.

“It’s classic Obama, Chicago-style, ACORN-style community organizing applied at large across the country,” he said. “The way it’s designed, it’s a dream regulation for the racial grievance industry. Basically, it empowers divisive groups like La Raza. It incorporates every liberal fantasy about the way American communities ought to organize themselves.”

Under these regulations, “You’d have the feds opining and complaining about where supermarkets are located. And it seems to incorporate the fraudulent ‘disparate impact theory,’ where it suggests that essentially race-neutral regulations will be seen as discriminatory if the impact is disparate along racial or other lines,” Fitton continued.

Disparate impact is a legal doctrine employed by the Fair Housing Act that says any policy can be labeled as discriminatory if it has a ‘disproportionate adverse impact’ against any minority group.

“The way it would work, any zoning that would have a disparate impact on immigrant communities, despite their being based on sensible reflection of good faith and people just wanting to make sure their communities are protected, would be impacted by these regulations,” Fitton said.

For example, if a city’s zoning laws favor home ownership as opposed to renting or favor singlefamily homes over multifamily apartments, it would be susceptible to allegations of a disparate impact on minorities. That could trigger a lawsuit, which then 38 whistleblower August 2014

forces a zoning change and construction of new Section 8, government-subsidized apartments in middleclass suburban neighborhoods.

It’s already happening in Westchester County, New York, where a federal judge ruled recently that the county never met its obligation to “affirmatively further fair housing” after accepting $50 million of federal grants.

Westchester was sued by the Anti-Discrimination Center and the court found that the county failed to conduct studies that would have shown “race-based impediments” to affordable housing. This case will be used to send a message to the rest of the nation’s cities and counties, Romano believes. Basically, if a city has suburban areas that are deemed “too white” by HUD’s standards, they’ll be sued.

“Westchester’s their model for the country,” Romano said.

Fitton also predicts an upswing in lawsuits if the rule goes into effect as planned on Oct. 1.

“You’ll see lawsuits from groups like La Raza,” Fitton said. “It empowers the left to influence basic zoning rules. I don’t see a direct method of rewriting laws.

But it’s the sort of thing that helps generate litigation.”

“It’s couched as voluntary when, in the end, everyone falls in line,” he said, “by dangling the [grant] money and suggesting that you are outside the law if you don’t comply. It’s an ideological regulation that fits perfectly with the president’s campaign promise, which he is keeping, to transform America.

“They pretend it's all about numbers and measurements and just reporting data, it’s not about that,” Fitton continued. “It’s about changing the way people live, changing zoning laws, and putting in an extreme ideological agenda, a divisive ideological agenda, through regulation. We’ve seen it time and time again.

We’ve seen it most recently in Eric Holder’s comments (about ‘racial animus’ among those protesting illegal immigration). This administration is run by people who have a deep-seated racial resentment.”

HUD’s public affairs office did not respond to a request for comment on the new rule.

PROSECUTOR CITES 7 REASONS TO IMPEACH OBAMA Andrew McCarthy: ‘We have a commander in chief who is replenishing the enemy in wartime’

FORMER federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy, who says President Obama is guilty of numerous high crimes and misdemeanors that warrant his removal from office, is proposing seven specific articles of impeachment for which he says the evidence is very clear.

McCarthy is best known as the lead prosecutor in the cases against the “blind sheikh,” Omar Abdel Rahman, and 11 conspirators behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and plots against other New York City landmarks.

Now with the National Review Institute, McCarthy has written a new book titled “Faithless Execution: Building the Political Case for Obama’s Impeachment.”

In it, he says the case for Obama's impeachment is solid, although he questions whether there is currently sufficient political will in the country to move forward.

McCarthy offers seven indictments in the book, beginning with “The President’s Willful Refusal to Execute the Laws Faithfully and Usurpation of the Legislative Authority of Congress.” Within that article, McCarthy cites Obama’s illegal and unilateral changing of federal statutes, from several components within Obamacare to scrapping codified welfare work requirements to amending immigration laws and enacting policies Congress did not approve.

He also alleges Obama failed to execute laws ranging from layoff notifications to the Clean Air Act to nuclear waste and Medicare.

McCarthy said there’s a simple reason he put these allegations first.

“When I was a prosecutor, what you always want to have in the indictment is one count that’s pretty much indefensible,” he said. “I think even the president’s most CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

ardent admirers would have to admit that he does not execute the laws faithfully, which is one of the most important duties that he has in the Constitution.”

McCarthy added, “The president is the only officer in our government who is required by the Constitution to take an oath to faithfully execute the laws and preserve the Constitution. We have a president who is very arbitrary about laws. He enforces some. He doesn’t enforce others. He’s selective. He rewrites them. He presumes to be able to decree federal benefits. A lot of people may like that on the hard left because it’s basically implementing their ideological program. But I think most people, if they’re of good faith, have to admit that he’s not following the law.”

Obama’s alleged failure to faithfully enforce immigration laws also appears in McCarthy's fifth indictment, specifically referring to the president’s unilateral conferring of amnesty upon certain groups of immigrants and even fighting states that seek to enforce federal immigration laws.

Immigration is also mentioned in another indictment on defrauding the American people, alleging the administration deliberately misleads the public on its border enforcement record.

McCarthy says there is a very good reason for the heavy focus on immigration.

“I think it’s because it’s so blatant. The president has taken the position that he can write the immigration law himself. He’s tried to go the constitutional route. He’s tried to go to Congress. He hasn’t gotten what he’s wanted. What he says in those instances is that, ‘If Congress won’t act, I will.’ Constitutionally, it’s not that Congress won’t act.

They’ve said no. His response to that is to become imperious and try to impose his own program and do it in a way that is not only disregarding of the Constitution’s separation of powers but also is an insult to the sovereignty of the states,” McCarthy said.

Other articles of impeachment on McCarthy’s list include “Usurping the Constitutional Authority and Prerogatives of Congress” for not getting congressional authorization for extended military action in Libya and making recess appointments at a time when the Senate was not in recess – which the Supreme Court recently smacked down unanimously – and dereliction of duty as commander

in chief. The latter charge focuses on crippling rules of engagement that McCarthy says makes U.S. troops much more vulnerable and more unlikely to complete their missions.

McCarthy also sees impeachable offenses on this front in the recent prisoner swap that allowed five key Taliban figures to go free from Guantanamo in exchange for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

“We have a commander in chief who is replenishing the enemy in wartime when the enemy is still on the battlefield conducting offensive, jihadist operations against our guys,” he said. “That’s about as shocking a dereliction of duty as I can imagine.”

McCarthy lodges another article of impeachment against Obama for fraud perpetrated against the American people. The allegations under that charge focus on the core promises of Obamacare that Americans could keep their health plans and doctors. They also cite Obama for going into Libya under the premise of averting genocide and always intending to depose Muammar Gadhafi, blaming the 2012 Benghazi attacks on a video long after the truth was known, facilitating Iran’s nuclear program while publicly vowing to stop it and propping up the green energy firm Solyndra with taxpayer dollars in a way that deceived investors.

Another article calls for impeachment based on the Justice Department’s alleged failure to execute the laws faithfully. That indictment centers on the illegal monitoring of reporters, the Fast and Furious gun-running operation, politicizing the hiring process at the Justice Department and unequally applying civil rights laws.

On matters such as Benghazi, the Justice Department’s actions and even the IRS scrutiny of conservatives, it is still unclear what Obama knew and if he had an active role in those issues. McCarthy said it doesn’t matter.

“In the system the framers gave us, it was very important to them that the president be accountable,” he said. “If you look at the Constitution carefully, you’d find that all the executive power in the government is invested in one person. It is not endowed in this vast array of executive agencies. It is singularly the president who is responsible.

“It’s not what Hillary Clinton does or Susan Rice does or Eric Holder or Eric Shinseki or any of the people who have become infamous over the past five-and-a-half years.

All those facts are attributable to the president,” said McCarthy, who argued that the founders would have little patience with the Obama administration’s frequent explanation that the president did not know or approve of any wrongdoing.

The final article accuses Obama of undermining the constitutional rights of the American people, from the IRS harassment of conservatives applying for nonprofit status to his refusal to classify the Fort Hood massacre as an act of terrorism to infringing on religious freedom through the contraception and abortifacient mandate and eroding gun rights through the United Nations.

However, McCarthy saves some special frustration for Obama’s efforts to stifle criticism of Islam in the public square.

“From the first days of Obama’s presidency in 2009 with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation – that’s this cabal of 57 Islamic governments, including the Palestinian Authority – they’ve been working on a resolution to curtail American free speech rights in deference to Shariah blasphemy standards. They have essentially struck a humanrights resolution that makes it unlawful to engage in expression that could incite hostility to religion. Of course, there’s only one religion we’re talking about in this context,” he said.

“Proving that there is an Obama administration mandate that attacks religious liberty, it’s not difficult to prove these things have happened, and I don’t even think it’s hard to prove these are high crimes and misdemeanors,” McCarthy said.

Of the president’s attacks on religious liberty, the paramount question, says McCarthy, is the same question with regard to all the other “high crimes” of Barack Obama: “Does the public think this is egregious enough to remove the president from power?”

STOP and reflect for a moment on the irony of ironies in the once-again mushrooming border invasion. The America that mothers and fathers in Central America are sending their children to join no longer exists.

Some smart trial lawyer will someday file a class-action lawsuit on their behalf claiming the American government misrepresented the opportunities available to immigrants, lawful and unlawful alike.

Instead of reparations, the immigrants’ lawyers will seek punitive damages, and rightly so. They were promised the America of George Gershwin and Normal Rockwell, and instead they got Salvador Dali: Everything is melting before their eyes.

Fleeing crime and violence in Guatemala? Better not go to Chicago, Detroit or New York. Afraid your child will be lured into a criminal gang? Don’t send them to Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas or Miami. Do you want that child to avoid illegal drugs? He should stay away from all of the above places.

Parents of the teenager fleeing Guatemala probably do not know that the United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world for young males, children in poverty and out-of-wedlock birth rates that are soaring, crumbling infrastructure, declining education standards, an avaricious business regulatory regime, an official war on cheap energy, an overextended military and an entertainment culture that celebrates promiscuity and pornography.

According to the International Freedom Index compiled annually by The Heritage Foundation, ranking nations on a dozen dimensions of personal and financial freedom, over the last 20 years on freedom from corruption the United States has fallen from a score of 90 to 72 – below 20 other nations.

Our overall ranking has fallen to 12th – behind 11 nations including Hong Kong, Canada, Denmark, Estonia and Chile. In the rankings for almost every dimension of freedom, the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction.

Any El Salvadoran teenager sneaking into the United States is probably expecting to find work at the minimum wage, and that is acceptable to his family in the short term.

But they are unaware that his future job opportunities will be hindered by continuing illegal immigration, which is designed to permanently suppress wages for all low-skilled workers. Moreover, eventually gaining legal status will not be an escape from that problem: Every study of wage growth by the Pew Hispanic Center shows the wages of legal Hispanics are affected by competition from illegal labor.

According to conventional wisdom, the current surge in border crossings is due to a new wave of violence and crime in Central American countries. This is transparent nonsense because political violence and crime are nothing new to those countries. There are two new conditions that

have led to this surge, one genuinely new and one a hoax that points to the certain disappointment that awaits these new arrivals.

It is true that the American government is now throwing out a new and well-publicized welcome mat in the form of President Obama’s refusal to deport any illegal alien but the worst violent criminals – and even then, only if their country of origin will take them back, which oftentimes they will not.

But even now, as serious as that problem is, that lack of fear of deportation takes second place in motivation to the universal allure of America as the land of opportunity, a reputation we earned over the past two centuries. The migrants fleeing oppression and poverty worldwide are blithely unaware that the “American Dream” is becoming a mere historical artifact.

The “American Dream” is in danger of becoming history’s cruelest example of consumer fraud, a fraud for the American middle class and large portions of the working class, including minorities.

Is America still the “Land of Opportunity”? Well, not so much. America is starting to resemble the rest of the world, the world the migrants are fleeing.

The cruelest irony of the sad picture is this: This cultural and economic transformation is happening not by accident but by design, and the design comes from the ideology motivating the people most actively promoting the mass immigration, the American left.

To the American left, open borders are the international and functional equivalent to the “reparations” we supposedly owe to the descendants of former slaves. No, I am not making this up, this is what they believe, and it is what students are taught in American universities.

The prevailing view and conventional wisdom among American progressives, who are now our governing class, is that since the whole world was victimized by American and European colonialism and imperialism, we are responsible for the relative poverty of other nations, especially our neighbors south of the border. We exploited them, so now we have to rescue them by accepting untold millions of “economic refugees.” Inevitably, over time, perhaps one or two generations, open borders will produce a homogenous culture and hemispheric unified economy.

If the migrants who risk robbery, rape and death on the trek to the southwest border understood the path America is on, most would likely choose to stay home.

IT’S NOT A CRISIS, IT’S A NATIONAL EMERGENCY

‘You like your community? Well, you can’t keep your “DEAR Colleagues,” Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., wrote to his fellow senators, “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic.”

That should grab them. It grabbed me.

Sessions continued, quoting from a National Journal report on a recent White House meeting where President Obama “made it clear he would press his executive powers to the limit” in order to prevent millions of illegal aliens from being deported. Obama could spare “between 5 million to 6 million adult illegal immigrants (from) deportation under a similar form of deferred adjudication he ordered for the so-called Dreamers in June 2012.”

Obama, the report continued, “has now ordered the Homeland Security and Justice departments to find executive authorities that could enlarge that non-prosecutorial umbrella by a factor of 10. Senior officials also tell (The National Journal) Obama wants to see what he can do with executive power to provide temporary legal status to undocumented adults.”

Unless my multiplication skills fail me, such a “nonprosecutorial umbrella” potentially covers a staggering 50 to 60 million persons in flagrant violation of U.S. immigration law.

“This is breathtaking,” Sessions wrote. “The action the president is reportedly contemplating would be a nullification of the Immigration and Nationality Act by the executive branch of government. Indeed, it would be an executive nullification of our borders as an enforceable national boundary. By declaring whole classes of illegal immigrants beyond the reach of the law, it would remove the moral authority needed to enforce any immigration law, creating the very open-borders policy explicitly rejected by Congress and the people. And it would guarantee that the current illegal immigration disaster would only further worsen and destabilize.”

It’s worth lingering over the senator’s sober language to absorb its explosive meaning. As Sen. Session tells it – and he tells it like it is – this president is pushing the “executive nullification of our borders as an enforceable national boundary.”

How can this be happening?

The simplest reason is the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives continue to fund the federal bureaucracy that is the mechanism of border nullification. This bureaucracy revolves around the trillion-dollar-per-year Department of Health and Human Services, which includes the Administration of Children and Families, or ACF, the Office of Refugee Resettlement and other nondemocratically empowered enforcers of fundamental demographic change. You like your community? Well, you can’t keep your community – not if the Washington social engineers whose salaries you pay successfully settle blocs of aliens in Yourtown, USA – “temporarily.”

How “mean” and “uncharitable,” the left and proamnesty right will say: Where is that guiding sense of Catholic, Episcopal, Jewish, Lutheran, Baptist charity that inspires the faith-based charities “helping” in the “crisis”?

Me, I’d like to know where the “charity” is in these same “charities” that We, the People, pay taxes to support, too.

Destroying a nation’s sovereignty, it turns out, is one long public gravy train.

Thanks to reporting by the websites Refugee Resettlement Watch and Conservative Tree House, and the news site WND.com, it becomes possible to quantify quickly the extent to which these “charities” are little different from other federal bureaucracies with hands in our pockets – although maybe some of the others are still dedicated to our protection. Hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars go to groups that help resettle aliens in this country, WND.com reports, including about a half-dozen religious organizations.

In 2012, for example, 93 percent of the $71 million the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops spent assisting refugees came from taxpayer dollars. The same year, 96.8 percent of the $41.7 million total income of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service was also public monies.

We see a similar balance sheet at the Baptist Child and Family Services (BCFS), notorious lately for its (thankfully) withdrawn bid to buy a $50 million Texas resort to house alien minors. The Conservative Tree House placed BCFS’s 2012 tax return display online, revealing that of the “charity’s” $67.3 million in revenue, about 94 percent, or $63.3 million, came from you and me – not by charitable choice. In other words, this is more “redistributive change,” only with sanctimony on the side.

But not the kind of money to buy a Texas resort, right?

As chaos wracks our nation, fortune smiles upon BCFS. Already in 2014, the “charity” has received more than a quarter-billion taxpayer dollars from the HHS’s Administration of Children and Families. Citing government grant statistics, The Conservative Tree House also pointed out that $190,707,505 dropped in BCFS’s lap on one giddy day this month. Go buy the “kids” a new resort?

“Congress must not acquiesce to spending more taxpayer dollars until the president unequivocally rescinds his threat of more illegal executive action,” Jeff Sessions told his colleagues.

That’ll be the day. But Sessions is correct that Congress mustn’t pay another public penny to nullify our borders and wage demographic war on our communities – and it certainly mustn’t approve the president’s “supplemental” request for $4.3 billion.

But how about cutting off money to the bureaucracies and “charities” that will only continue chipping away at U.S. nationhood? This is not a “crisis,” but a long-term state of emergency. In this national emergency, the proper and patriotic use of taxpayer dollars is for security and deportations.

Only then might this existential threat to what remains of our republic pass.

MEASURE AND MONITOR EVERY COMMUNITY According to HUD’s own website, block grant recipients under the rule would be “required to sign a certification to affirmatively further fair housing.” As part of the city’s consolidated plan, these recipients are required to undertake fair housing planning, which consists of “an Analysis of Impediments (AI) to fair housing choice” as well as “actions to cover the effects of the identified impediments” and “maintenance of records to support the affirmatively furthering fair housing certification.”

Cities would be forced to implement “new measuring tools” and do new assessments showing how well they are “affirmatively furthering fair housing.”

Romano wrote in a recent blog, “It’s not enough to arbitrarily implement amnesty – whether through refusal to enforce existing law or congressional action – the federal government wants to draw the maps of where the new residents will live, forcing local communities to make room whether they like it or not.”

While the benefits of the new regulation to Democrats would seem obvious, the vote to kill the rule in the Republican-controlled House was surprisingly close at 219 to 207.

“Establishment politicians of both parties, especially those in the Republican Party, you use the phrase ‘fair housing,’ and they run for the hills,” Fitton told Whistleblower. “It’s an agenda that usually has nothing to do with fair housing, it’s a government power grab. That’s the clear and present danger of a regulation like this. It would have the practical impact that it could lead to the federalization of all zoning laws.”
