2023 Texas Christian Job Corps Prayer Guide

Page 1

introduction

The overarching theme of the New Testament Epistles is God’s plan to redeem (buy back), restore (give back) and transform (no looking back) those He knew before Creation (Jeremiah 1:5). He desires that we are personally transformed into the image of Christ. The result of our personal transformation releases God’s power in us, that He might pour HIS SPIRIT into our community through us.

This supernatural work is accomplished as we believe, live, pray, and serve in Jesus’ name. This spirit filled lifestyle releases the power of the resurrection into our lives and through our prayers.

Join others across Texas in praying for our state to be transformed by the love of God through the work of Christian Women’s Job Corps® (CWJC) and Christian Men’s Job Corps® (CMJC).

Pray in Jesus’ name that participants, volunteers, and leaders will be redeemed, restored, and transformed. Ask that God would open the flood gates of heaven and pour out His Spirit afresh and anew. Ask that CWJC/CMJC would be an instrument of revival in our state. We are living in truly amazing times.

In Jesus’ Name We Are …

REDEEMED

Ephesians 1:4-7 ESV

“… even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, …”

RESTORED

1 Peter 5:10 ESV

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

TRANSFORMED

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 ESV

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Our State

Texas has 29 million people spread over 261,231 square miles with a median income of $61,874 and per capita income of $31,177. Fifty percent of Texas residents consider themselves Christian. 16.3% live in poverty. The state currently hosts 42 CWJC/CMJC sites.

Pray that CWJC/CMJC sites will reach those who are not believers in Christ. Pray that the yoke of poverty be broken in our state.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

– 2 Peter 3:9

Our Site Leaders

Pray for CWJC/CMJC site leadership to experience the overwhelming, life transforming love of God as they experience all that Christ is and has

accomplished for them. Pray for a true partnership with their supporting churches, Board of Directors or Advisory Council, and volunteers.

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” – 1 Corinthians 1:30

Our Churches

Pray for churches to catch the vision of meeting the needs of its neighborhood through the practical, life transforming model of CWJC/CMJC.

Pray for the church to hear God’s call to support or start CWJC/CMJC sites in cities across the state. Pray that every county in Texas will be reached with the gospel.

“...to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places…” – Ephesians 3:10

Our Participants

Pray for participants to discover their identities in Christ and experience His redeeming, restoring, transforming power in their lives. Pray that the yoke of poverty – spiritual, relational, and physical — will be broken today and for generations to come.

“But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”– 1 Corinthians 6:17 NASV

Our Volunteers

Pray for volunteers to release God’s redeeming, redemptive, and transforming love and healing through their service. Pray that mentors will have wisdom and grace in modeling the Christ-filled life to their mentees. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send workers to all of our Texas sites in abundance.

“And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

– Matthew 9:35-38 ESV
