Frequently asked questions When will I receive my new uniform?

You’ll receive your new uniform just before our launch date and your People team will let you know where and when you can collect it, and your new name badge, nearer the time. However, it’s important you continue to wear your old uniform until launch so we give our customers the best impression.

How many uniform items will I receive?

Allocations are based on the number of shifts you typically work and the department you work on. Your People team will have this information and they’ll be able to share it with you when you collect your uniform, and there are posters displayed in your store explaining more about what items you’ll receive.

Have our dress standards changed?

No, you must still dress appropriately for your area, meaning hairnets must be worn when working on food preparation departments and safety shoes must be worn when collecting trolleys and when working in the warehouse, and on Market Street and Cafe where there’s no non-slip flooring. Please refer to the Dressing for Work policy on MyMorri, or speak to your People team.

Can I still wear my old uniform?

No, all old uniforms must be returned to your store so we can recycle them. It’s important that all colleagues wear their new uniform from launch date for a great first impression.

Are there different uniforms depending on where colleagues work in store?

Yes, the uniform will differ slightly by department. Your People team will be able to provide more detail, and there are posters displayed in your store explaining more about what items you’ll receive.

Does our new uniform come in different sizes and fits?

Yes, there’s a variety of sizes in all items ranging from XS to 7XL. Most uniform items are unisex, except jeans, which come in either a mans or ladies fit, and there are longer options available too. Caps are one size fits all, but are adjustable.

What if my sizes aren’t available?

We’ve worked hard to make sure there’s a wide selection of sizes available in each store. Your People team will have the opportunity to order further sizes once the initial deliveries have arrived, but we’re encouraging

store teams to work together to share sizes so that all colleagues receive a correctly fitting uniform before we order replacements.

I prefer to wear a skirt or trousers at work instead of jeans, is that ok?

Yes. You can choose to wear your own smart black trousers, black jeans or skirt. Please refer to our Dressing for Work policy on MyMorri for more information or speak to your People team.

How do I look after my uniform?

Each item has washing instructions attached, and it’s important that these are followed carefully so your new uniform remains in the best condition and to reduce wear and tear. If you’re unsure how to look after your uniform, please speak to your People team.

What will happen to my old uniform items?

Old uniform items will be recycled. Please return all old uniform items to your store, making sure it’s been cleaned and dried and the pockets emptied and name badges removed. A pallet box will be delivered to your store to drop your old uniform items into, which will then be taken away so the material/fibres can be shredded for energy recovery.

Please make sure you also drop your old name badge(s) in the box provided by your People team.

What’s the process for ordering replacement items?

Please speak to your line manager or People Manager who’ll be able to support you and order any new uniform when required.

I work in BREW, will I get a new uniform?

Not at the moment, so please continue to wear your current BREW uniform.

I work in Market Kitchen, will I get a new uniform?

No, as Market Kitchen is a new concept our Market Kitchen teams already have a new Market Kitchen uniform.

I’m a Party Shop colleague, will I get a new uniform?

Yes, you’ll receive a new uniform. Your People teams can explain more about this.

Who will clean the aprons for fresh food prep departments?

All aprons worn by colleagues on our Market Street ready to eat departments must be washed at home as per the wash guidance. A clean apron must be worn at the start of every shift. Raw departments should leave aprons on the department and clean throughout the day with M1 and M2 cleaning products.

I’m a manager, will I receive a uniform?

No, uniforms are for colleagues only and managers should follow our business dress policy. If a manager has to go onto a food preparation area they must wear the correct PPE. Will I get a new name badge?

All colleagues will receive a new name badge, which is a new, more environmentally friendly, wooden design.

These will be handed out alongside your new uniform, so please keep them safe until launch date.

Why have some colleagues received Service Milestone badges?

We want to celebrate the amazing achievement of colleagues who've hit a service milestone, so special name badges will be issued to all colleagues who’ve worked with us for 25 years or more, ready for launch.
