The first Greek-letter society, Phi Beta Kappa, was founded at W&M on December 5, 1776 Its earliest members established core values of scholarship, service, leadership, and community Today the fraternity/ sorority community is comprised of over 1600 students, 30+ chapters, and 3 governing councils

Our three governing councils the Panhellenic Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Interfraternity Council (IFC) all have different joining processes The first step in both Panhellenic and IFC recruitment involves registering for recruitment Registration links can be found on the FSL website or council social media pages The first step for NPHC and our multicultural organization membership intake varies according to the particular fraternity or sorority, but general information can be found here.
